This is one of those "I can't believe I have to say this" kind of deals, so buckle up, folks.

Guys? I know I'm really amazing, very cool, and all around unbelievable. I'm so many things, it's hard to list them all. But one thing I'm not?

A deity. Yes, I am in fact, 100%, absolutely and truly not a goddess. And no, I'm not a demi-goddess either. Not a single trace of divinity in me. I won't name names, but this has happened about three or four times now. Just thought I'd mention it in case there's anyone else out there with this assumption.

... Y'know what? It's a new month, and that means we're getting newbies. Maybe now's a good time for everyone to sweep any other misunderstandings under the rug. So, if there's anything you wanna clear up about yourself, your world, your species, whatever, go for it.

Yeaaaaah but the people that wanted me ratted me out and put a bounty on my head. And told people I was blue- back when I was blue, that is. So people were expecting the savior of humanity to look like a Smurf.

Now I'm 'The Big Red One'.

They couldn't even just use your name?

[ How dehumanizing. But then again, Alice doesn't really sound surprised about that as much as she sounds exasperated. People truly are the same anywhere. They suck. ]

I feel like you're the type who stands out enough that people could recognize you by other things than the colour of your skin.

I am going to take that as a compliment whether or not it was meant as one.

They actually used my name for a while, just with the instruction that I was blue. Except they called me 'the' Murphy. Which was both flattering and very annoying when I was trying very hard not to be someone's meal ticket.

Great, then I'll leave the interpretation up to you. [ Aka, she's not telling. ]

Being refered as 'the' before your name though.. your reputation truly must have preceeded you there.

Yeah, I don't know where that came from other than 'the Murphy' as in the Murphy that was worth money as opposed to some random Murphy.

Even I thought that was stupid and I love me some flattery.

[ See? She was polite enough to not say it out loud, but it seems Murphy just did it for him. If even he thinks it's stupid, that's saying a lot. ]

So how does it feel then? Going from being one of the most recognized people ever to just some random person here?

I love being a random person. Much lower pressure than one would expect.

[Just because he has an ego about being on top doesn't mean that he totally doesn't love the comfort of normal average non-apocalyptic stress.]

Though I did actually want to protect my people. I'm a little pissed I got ripped away from that. Again.

There's something about the use of that word that stands out to her. Not even necessarily in a negative way, since he does seem to be genuine about the protecting part, but.. ]

Did you do the same thing to them?

[ As he temporarily did to her during the mission, she means.

Look, isn't she being nice by purposefully being vague about it, since she thinks he might not want just anyone to know what he can do. ]

Most were Talkers- zombies that still can communicate, think for themselves so long as they have the occasional snack. There were people hunting them down to drive them feral so it would be 'alright' to kill them.

I have the cure in my head right now. I could fix everyone, force their bodies to repair all the damage. Just.... not here.

Zombies sound rather.. complicated, where you're from.

[ If anything, it almost feels easier to understand the humans side of it. Humans acting atrocious like that because it's what humans do. All the time. ]

There aren't many zombie stories back home, but in the few that exist, I'm fairly sure they often seem generally mindless. All the same.

There's a ton of different types. Some I can't reach.

[That's why he really needs to work on expanding his reach.]

Talkers are a relatively recent development. Unfortunately, they're the ones that stand to suffer most. [And yes, for all an uncaring dick he can come off as, and he often is one, he actually is worried about them.]

[ There's a moment where Alice is quiet. She looks a little like she's thinking - except what she's thinking about here isn't different zombie types. They don't have those where she's from anyway, so it'd be wasted energy.

No, what she's apparently been thinking about comes out when she speaks up again. ]

You're so odd. I can't tell where your caring for yourself ends and where your caring for others begins.
