[It's Masumi, this time in the library with two books. She's got a fairly serious look, indicating that she's really got something on her mind.]
Hey everyone. For anyone here unaware, we went on a mission earlier in the month that involved this...void coloured being messing with everyone's minds. At one point though, they said something about a place called Diagad while me and Tidus were trying to help someone. I looked it up in the book search, and got these two books.
[She holds up two books. One is titled 'Ten Moments of: Diagad', while the other is titled 'Diagad: A Brief Overview'. After a moment, she puts the books back down.]
What I got out of these is that Diagad is a non void active world, but had been making void related discoveries and there was talk of whether to bring them into the void network. What's odd is that the being from the mission talked about the world in past tense, as if something happened, but these books don't seem to say anything about that. To be specific, they said something about no sky being real and that 'they will all crumble into ash' before mentioning that Diagad had purple skies.
[She sighs.]
Either the train is hiding info from us, or something happened but no one knows, which is ridiculous. Either way, I'll be putting these books into the library if anyone wants to read them, and I'm open to discussion about this.

I remember the train itself noting that while time travel is beyond its capabilities, the same cannot be said for other voidcraft. If it's possible in one way, it could be possible in others as a result.
[Audio only]
Does the book say what the length of a day is on Diagad?

[ Greek god's catching up as best he can, so if this is old information, forgive him. He's had a hell of a knowledge gap to overcome. ]
Haven't read it all, but if this book is to be believed, the Underworld has a better and easier to understand organization system than the Void Ministry.
[ And the Underworld's organizational system is horrible. ]

It's a little frustrating because I feel like we could have helped it, you know... if it didn't try to murder everyone. There's no need to be so uncooperative, very well downright adversarial. It makes it difficult to sympathize.
no subject
[Aka some people abusing their powers.]
There's still too many blanks in this, though. And I doubt the train is going to give us more info unless we know what to search for.

[She'd guessed that the numbers were some sort of organizing system, and that the higher the number the more recently the world had been brought into the void network, but if there's more to it then Masumi wants to know.]
Now that I think about it, I've been here almost six months and I haven't heard any conversation on the number system. I can't believe no one's tried to learn more about that yet.
no subject
[She can't believe she has to consider time travel.]
I don't know if this has to do with the time travel theory, but apparently the people of Diagad develop powers at puberty. I'm not sure of the extent of what those powers can be, but it's possible that someone could develop a time travel power. But if we assume that everyone gets one power, then that would conflict with that being's whole illusions based on people's memories thing...
[There's not enough info here to come up with a solid theory.]
no subject
I would think if they're a teenager and recently having developed powers, that could give us a general time period for when Diagad disappeared and cross-reference it with some of the train's other assortment of knowledge.
no subject
[A pause, then they make themselves explain a little further, sounding tense,]
Wanted to see if we're chasing someone from her world.

Ah, it would likely conflict if the abilities were meant to be within a particular category each time though yes. At the very least, where I lived, most abilities would be interconnected if anyone had multiple at once.
[Perhaps distantly interconnected, but still.] That aside, I think it would be better to think of it as if no time travel was deliberately involved then- many of us on the train are already from alternate timelines, from differing moments of time at that. It wouldn't be too strange to say that our information- the information accessible to the train- could therefore be outdated compared to this Diagad native.

[ Anan's words about being told their world's Void number first echo hauntingly in his mind. There might not be a way to learn the system and find out their system numbers. ]
If we want to learn our own system numbers, we'll need to find another method. Probably.
[ He doesn't have high hopes. ]

[Then as explanation:]
A while back, a few of us received memories from the train. I wasn’t one of them, but I did get one of the three recipients to show me the memories after the fact. One of them showed what happened to the train’s homeworld.
[She’s very somber about this. Whatever happened, it wasn’t good.]

[Masumi flips to where a publication date should be, frowns, then turns the book to the camera so Entrapta can see.]
I’m not seeing a date I recognize, but there are some numbers that could be a date where these were published. I’m not sure though, there’s nothing to indicate what these numbers mean.
As for lifespan, I don’t think so. I’d have to go through the overview book again to be sure, though.
[In other words, not much to cross reference against.]

Perhaps a stretch, but it has been noted that if a planet cannot be saved Vee's evacuated the crew and taken off again. It's possible that she attempted to save Diagad and things went very badly.
But this is one of dozens of possible theories and still very little basis to currently research.
no subject
[She considers what she knows about the train’s homeworld, then sighs before deciding to share.]
…A while back, three of us were shown memories from the train. They aren’t here anymore, but I was shown the memories by one of them.
To make a very long story short, one of the memories showed the destruction of the train’s homeworld. There was a fight in space near the planet, and the train had shown up to turn the tide. Then something showed up in the sky, I don’t know what, but the train jumped back into the void. When she returned to the world moments later, everything was gone. The world, the space station for the train, the fighters, all just a bit of rubble. The only survivors were those still on the train when she fled into the void.
[And those survivors obviously aren’t here now…]

So it had a station to accept the train. Is there a possibility that there are at least some train station records? I can do a library search, for whatever that's worth. Any details you remember about it?
Not that it helps with Diagad any, but any answers are good at this point.
no subject
I'm not sure if there are records, but if it helps, the station was black and had 'Home Station of the Voidtrecker Express' written on the side. As for the thing, I don't know what that was. Whatever it was, it blotted out the stars when it arrived and it was enough to make the train jump into the void.
[So many unknowns about this.]
no subject
That doesn't sound like what we saw, but maybe was the same thing that destroyed both worlds.
no subject
Can you describe it? What happened to the train's world?
no subject
[She pauses to collect her thoughts, then continues.]
The train had arrived at the world to help assist in a space battle nearby. I think they had turned the battle in their favour after their arrival, but then this thing showed up. I'm not sure how to describe it, but whatever it was, it was able to start blotting out the stars and the people involved in the fight didn't recognize it. Either way, then there was... a rumble or something, I don't know, and the train jumped back into the void. When she came back a moment later, everything was gone, aside from some rubble. The only survivors were the people still on the train when she fled.
[She's doing her best to recall that memory in detail.]
no subject
Did the dark thing look anything like this? Or was it too big to really tell?
no subject
[She frowns, trying to think of what to compare it to. Whatever it was, it was definitely alarming to see even in the form of someone else's memory that was shared with her.]
...By the way, what is that thing you're showing me?
no subject
[It's what she does as a detective, find things out.]
Let me know what you get out of that search, even if it's nothing.
no subject
I'll let you know if I find out any more void information, anyway. Right now I can tell you the metal from the Endless River is very volatile.
no subject
A World Eater. It's what killed the last world I was on. I'm afraid they might be related to what killed the train's world. There are. A lot of similarities. Even if they're not exactly the same.
no subject
That said, time travel could still be involved in some way. Maybe someone else used it, I don’t know. But yes, it’s possible the info we’re getting is outdated. It’s impossible to know when these books were published after all, and there’s no telling for now if there’s something more recent out there.
[If only she could get more info out of the train.]
no subject
Best of luck in your own efforts, neh?
no subject
[She'll be sure to share any other info she comes by.]
no subject
I’ll keep that in mind. From what I know, this is a different thing, but there could be a connection for all we know.
Anything else you know about the World Eaters?
no subject
[They never did get a decent explanation for that. They still think they have enough intelligence to want to wipe out someone who saw them.]
Their language sounds like lots of discordant music layered on top of each other. They can be blown up, but it's hard.
