[It's Masumi, this time in the library with two books. She's got a fairly serious look, indicating that she's really got something on her mind.]

Hey everyone. For anyone here unaware, we went on a mission earlier in the month that involved this...void coloured being messing with everyone's minds. At one point though, they said something about a place called Diagad while me and Tidus were trying to help someone. I looked it up in the book search, and got these two books.

[She holds up two books. One is titled 'Ten Moments of: Diagad', while the other is titled 'Diagad: A Brief Overview'. After a moment, she puts the books back down.]

What I got out of these is that Diagad is a non void active world, but had been making void related discoveries and there was talk of whether to bring them into the void network. What's odd is that the being from the mission talked about the world in past tense, as if something happened, but these books don't seem to say anything about that. To be specific, they said something about no sky being real and that 'they will all crumble into ash' before mentioning that Diagad had purple skies.

[She sighs.]

Either the train is hiding info from us, or something happened but no one knows, which is ridiculous. Either way, I'll be putting these books into the library if anyone wants to read them, and I'm open to discussion about this.

I don’t think so. According to the overview book, Diagad was only just starting to discover the void. The train’s homeworld had a whole station for the train, so I assume they were more advanced in void travel.

[Then as explanation:]

A while back, a few of us received memories from the train. I wasn’t one of them, but I did get one of the three recipients to show me the memories after the fact. One of them showed what happened to the train’s homeworld.

[She’s very somber about this. Whatever happened, it wasn’t good.]

[They're not sure if that's good or bad, that the train's world and Diagad weren't the same. It sure does mean there's more worlds out there probably getting eaten.]

Can you describe it? What happened to the train's world?

I can.

[She pauses to collect her thoughts, then continues.]

The train had arrived at the world to help assist in a space battle nearby. I think they had turned the battle in their favour after their arrival, but then this thing showed up. I'm not sure how to describe it, but whatever it was, it was able to start blotting out the stars and the people involved in the fight didn't recognize it. Either way, then there was... a rumble or something, I don't know, and the train jumped back into the void. When she came back a moment later, everything was gone, aside from some rubble. The only survivors were the people still on the train when she fled.

[She's doing her best to recall that memory in detail.]

[There's a silence as they think. Then the feed switches over to video, though Soldat is not anywhere on the screen. What is, is a tablet, with a picture pulled up, showing this image. Soldat's voice off-screen asks,]

Did the dark thing look anything like this? Or was it too big to really tell?

No, not like that. I think it was more similar to clouds if I had to compare it to something.

[She frowns, trying to think of what to compare it to. Whatever it was, it was definitely alarming to see even in the form of someone else's memory that was shared with her.]

...By the way, what is that thing you're showing me?

[The video shuts off again.]

A World Eater. It's what killed the last world I was on. I'm afraid they might be related to what killed the train's world. There are. A lot of similarities. Even if they're not exactly the same.

[Okay, what the fuck.]

I’ll keep that in mind. From what I know, this is a different thing, but there could be a connection for all we know.

Anything else you know about the World Eaters?

They can make you hallucinate, usually your worst fears. They can make you want to turn on your friends. They make you sick to get too close, like radiation poisoning or something-- headaches, hair loss, nausea. They travel between planets and feed. Also they're weirdly stubborn and won't leave for decades if they don't find the last of the life there, even if it's a tiny amount left.

[They never did get a decent explanation for that. They still think they have enough intelligence to want to wipe out someone who saw them.]

Their language sounds like lots of discordant music layered on top of each other. They can be blown up, but it's hard.
