[Since Allen came out of the luggage carried he had a good number of questions some of which have at least been answered by looking around. Knowing certain truths that he is willing to keep to himself and pretend that everything is awesome while in reality, he wasn't doing so great because of it.
But for the time being, he decided to at least play the game of catch up for other things.]
So... I don't know how long I've been gone for so... Is there anyone who is okay with telling me what has been going on? I assume I missed the mission since I see mentions of it, but considering I wasn't here... I don't actually know what is going on.
[He pauses, he wanted to pretend everything was okay on his end even with the lack of knowing what day it was or what was going on, but he figured he would at least ask.]
I do have another question. Not as important, but for those of you who've ever... How do I put it... [Words on this subject were not his area of expertise.] Developed romantic feelings for someone who then leaves. How do you manage that?

[ It's a joke, Allen, a joke! A dry, deadpan joke, but a joke all the same, considering the answer to that is obvious - he's been gone, spirited away by the train, as happens to people at times.
But the joke is more in response to the last thing he says. Romantic feelings? Allen, what have you been up to in that regard. ]
video;
Off on some solo adventure~ [Yes, that was the way he was going to answer it.]
Though how are you anyway?
no subject
It's a deep breath, more than a sigh. ]
It's most likely better to not talk about that. [ Aka: she's not doing too great, but discussing that so publically is not exactly something Alice enjoys doing. ] You should feel glad that you got to skip this mission.
no subject
[He knows it means it was very bad either way. But being told he should feel glad he wasn't there was enough to give pause. Allen feels bad he wasn't there because he just is that type of a person and always wants to help... so now he has to wonder.]
Will it be something you will talk about in person?
no subject
[ It's not like she likes talking about it, but if Allen insists on knowing what the mission was all about, it's not like she's going to throw some huge stink about it either. She'll just leave out all the personal details she doesn't want to share. ]
Are you telling me to meet up somewhere?
no subject
[He felt like he would be a bad friend if he did and for him, his friendships mean a lot to him.]
Just want to make sure your okay. Plus Timcampy wants to see you, I can send him your way though.
no subject
But even Alice would feel bad for avoiding him after he was gone for so long - especially since she has no idea what that experience is like, vanishing from the train like that and then reappearing. Or how it affects Allen. It's always so difficult to tell on the outside how he feels about a lot of things. ]
No, I'll come see you. [ Don't make her insist!!! ] Just tell me where.
no subject
[He didn't think things through honestly. He just knew he wanted to move elsewhere.]
Probably going to get something to eat, so Dining or Kitchin carriage.
no subject
Though-- ]
And put the tea kettle on, while you're at it.
[ You know, so the water can be ready for Alice to make some tea by the time she arrives there too. ]
no subject
[Because he is polite if anything and plus he was hungry.]
Want me to make you tea? [Because he felt like it could be the least he could do for not being on the mission.]
no subject
[ Because oh gosh, could Alice ever use an over the top tea consumption these few days, considering how the mission has gone down. ]
I'll be right over.
no subject
[Timcampy will be helping with it and everything. So at least when she arrives it's there and waiting.]
no subject
In return, Alice does head directly towards the kitchen, rather than making him wait. And when she sees the tea, it does return a bit more energy to her face as she moves to hoist herself up on a counter to sit down and sip the tea.
She slowly exhales after having drank said sip. Ah, so much better. ]
Thank you for the tea. [ Since it's such a relief, it at least makes her thank him. A rarity. ] Did you only just show back up on the train?
no subject
[At least enough to find out at least one thing and to get to the kitchen anyway. So at best maybe an hour or two. Timcampy himself is just going to fly on over and set himself on Alice's head. He missed her honestly.]
So I have a bit to catch up on, which isn't bad with tea.
no subject
[ In other words, even though she's not using as many: she's fine with talking with him about stuff he wants to know.
Especially when Timcampy is being so cute. It brings a very faint smile to Alice's tired face. ]
What do you want to know first..?
no subject
[Timcampy was just going to watch now since there was no food he can eat for the time being.]
no subject
Only that the being behind the illusions sounded like he was just about the biggest jerk in all of existence. [ Geez, talk about pompous assholes.. That person definitely would have been at the top of the pompous asshole ranking, Alice thinks. ]
But he disappeared. Not in the 'vanquished' sort of way though, unfortunately. He just moved on to some other place, I assume.
no subject
[At least Allen can at least deal with jerks, but illusions... it all makes sense why people have been talking about it. That was not something people would really want to experience over and over again possibly.]
But overall it sounded like it was rough. Sorry I wasn't there to help and before you say anything, I know I shouldn't... but I still will feel bad regardless.
no subject
[ He already says he knows he shouldn't apologize, so she's leaving any scolding for that out of this. He's already well aware, so it's not like it'll help any to still tell Allen that.
But she can at least make this clear. No one has to apologize for not helping her when it's actually a surprise when someone does go out of her way to help her. ]
If anything, it was more convenient that you weren't around. At least it means you didn't get caught up in any terrible illusion yourself.
no subject
[He at least is giving her the option. But soon at the mention of at least not being caught up in an illusion himself he found himself laughing, but not just a normal laugh. It came across as awkward.]
Yeah. At least in that world. I have dealt with something similar to an illusion before. So yes I am glad I didn't get caught up in it because it means no one had to deal with anything related to me.
[Timcampy lowered their wings as it showing sadness as he said that. But being on top of Alices head it would be hard to notice.]
no subject
And the words Allen is saying aren't too surprising either. He's always like that, right? Wanting to protect people from the dangerous things about himself, about his world. It's not hard to notice. ]
Everyone had to deal with everyone's problems.
[ In other words, though she's not saying it with as many words: his own problems wouldn't have stood out in the mess, so he doesn't have to worry about that part. ]
Besides, since that thing escaped, it means it's very likely to happen again. It's important that we start building up some sort of resilience against this kind of thing.
no subject
[Allen had his moments of understanding. It also seemed the most logical anyway for what it could mean. But it would make sense to also try and do something like that anyway especially if it might become more of a regular thing.]
I am sure there is a way to do that, but right now there is nothing.
cw: talk of mental health
She doesn't know why. Maybe it's because she's reminded of everything that happened, or maybe it's because it's Allen she's talking to - and she trusts him with her secrets.
So she sucks in a deep breath, before releasing it again and speaking up. ]
I can practice all the time. [ Her gaze is trained on him. ] I-- see things. All the time. Things that are not actually there. Even when it is not being induced by some.. some horrible entity.
no subject
[So it does technically make it easier for her, he guessed but at the same time that is not exactly something pleasant either, so see things at random times.]
I guess as horrible as it is, that's an advantage. So is it something that happens randomly? Or is it literally all the time?
no subject
[ After all, mental health is unpredictable like that. Alice can never know for sure when she's going to have an easy period of when it's going to go crazy. ]
It makes it really hard to discern what is real and what isn't all the time, since I have no idea when I am merely seeing things. [ It's not like there's any warning signs. ]
