[Taiki is stood in front of the ICP in the stores, to not be underfoot in the kitchen as he did this. His face is stern, a lot sterner and stoic than most who knew the young man would expect. Not a twitch or a tremor betrayed just how nervous he was to be speaking over the ICPs. Or to be talking about this at all.]

Hello, I hope everyone who joined us yesterday have begun to settle in. For those who don't know me my name is Taiki and I'm on the Red team. However I rarely am with the red team on missions and that is part of what I wish to speak with you about today. It is a new month and that means there will be a mission in a few days time. I am someone who does not fight and cannot condone violence done towards any other creatures, I say this not to condemn those of you who feel differently but to explain why I struggle being of use on the missions we are sent on. I often wonder if it would be better to remain here on the train but I cannot contemplate leaving my friends to go into danger without me and the missions are to save worlds. If refusing to fight for a world would mean it's demise than abstaining from the mission would be an act of cruelty in itself. [He shook his head.] So I have been finding ways to help without being near the fighting. However it has come to my attention that there are others who feel the same way I do even if they have their own reasons for it.

I thought it might be useful, if together we made ourselves known and figured out ways we could provide assistance to help those on these worlds without causing any harm. If anyone has any ideas of tasks that could be done by those who cannot or will not fight please suggest them. I wish to be of use and I am sure others do too.

[His face grows a tiny bit lighter, though keeping the stoic mask.]

On a slightly related note I bought a selection of vegan foods including a meal kit to make plant burgers. [He says vegan like the word is still quite new to him and 'plant burgers' like he is very dubious about their existance.] I am planning on doing some cooking if anyone wanted to try any of it.

[ Huaisang bows again and his hands move behind his back. ]

Tell me more about this food you speak of.

Um... [He smiles nervously and turns his attention to the recipe and ingredients in front of him.]

Well usually a burger would be made with meat as I said but this one is made with different vegetables so we are going to make these chick peas, celery and shallots into burger instead.

[He slid over the recipe card in case Nie Huaisang wanted to read it.]

Okay um it says it needs to be rougher than hummus but I'm not too sure what that is. So I guess just... not too smooth...

[He began chopping up the shallot as he spoke into small pieces.]

[ Huaisang does glance briefly at the recipe card and while he doesn't read it in any great detail he does skim it. ]

All things that do taste good usually.

Yes. They all taste good so hopefully they will taste good together like that.

[He begins chopping up the shallots.]

Gotcha. I'll be right over.

[Lea ends the feed there and heads to the kitchens to meet up with Taiki.]

[And indeed he is in the kitchen when Lea gets there, chopping up some celery.]

I've had it, so I'll know what to look for. [ Slowly, carefully, she'll begin to chop up the celery. ] We should try to find a recipe for hummus sometime, it's pretty good.

[Leia nods.]

In another area, how's your acting? Even if you can't sneak around as a scout, there are certainly other forms of espionage that are just as helpful.

And if the mission calls for it, diplomatic skills can be helpful too. They also sometimes require a bit of acting talent, though for different reasons.

[His acting skills. He is quiet for a moment, a thoughtful look on his face as he thinks about that possibility.

Acting and diplomacy. He could do it. No situation they faced on these missions would be harder than the situation he had found himself in Tai- perhaps objectively they would be more complex and there would be even more at stake. But they would be a lot less personal.

However if he was any good at it was another matter. Asen had een through almost everything he had done. He hadn't actually been able to help the people of Tai, indeed his actions had led to hurt and suffering.]

I'll think about it...

It is? [He glanced at her and nodded after a moment.]

We could ask for a recipe for it, the option to buy meals in the shop is quite useful.

Mm.

[ Huaisang agrees quietly and then he moves to make tea. ]

Would you like some tea while you are working?

Oh. Um. Yes. If you don't mind I mean.

[He doesn't want the man to go to any trouble! Though perhaps he was planning on drinking tee anyways...]

[ Huaisang bows his head slightly and he goes about to start making the tea for them both. ]

I don't mind.

Thank you then.

[He smiles over his shoulder before looking back to his work and continuing chopping celery.]

Yeah, definitely! I've been meaning to try buying a meal sometime, I haven't done it before.

It's good. Especially when you aren't exactly sure what you want... I've learned some new food that way.

[There's definitely something more there, if she's any judge. A past attempt at it that had gone badly, perhaps? No way to really know at the moment.

She nods her understanding.]

If you decide to pursue that sort of thing and want to improve your skills in that area feel free to let me know. I've got quite a bit of experience in that area and would be willing to give you a few tips, if you're interested.

[ Huaisang works in relative silence for a while as he heats up the water, and prepares the cups. ]

Please, tell me more about yourself.

Sounds like a good idea. I should look into getting recipes too, to practice cooking a bit more.

[ Goodness knows she needs it. ]

All right, so what's next?

[It's not long before Lea arrives, taking up a knife and cutting board and stepping up beside Taiki to work on the next ingredient in line.]

So... what all's going into these plant burgers besides the burger patties themselves?

Um once we mix all this together we have to season it. [There are some herbs in the pack but the recipe suggests some others as well.]

I guess we can make a couple with these and maybe a couple with some other seasoning... there's quite a lot of spices that people have bought now.

It's mostly chickpeas and some vegetables and seasoning... Um there are also sweet potatoes for making chips, have you had those before?

[Chips or sweet potatoes, both would be strange in his own world.]

Oh um... [He is quiet for a moment.] Well I'm Taiki... um you know that. I'm a kirin and I come from a place called Tai. I've been here over half a year now.

Ah. [He nods at her.] I will. Thank you very much for your help.
