[ Jin Ling is quiet for a little bit and he's actually contemplating telling Wei Wuxian. ]

I can't stand to look at people I love and know they don't love me.

[ It's a sort of disingenuous way of referring to his love for Sizhui but these Sizhuis that are here are not the one from Penance and yet... it didn't change how his heart felt when he saw them... and it's a disingenuous way of referring to Meng Yao.

Erasing them serves no purpose. They have changed you whether you realize it or not.

I understand that burden.

[ This is not really someone that Jin Ling wants to hear from. But he attempts to at least sound neutral. He's not all that good at it. ]

I know this thing has changed me but not in a way that is good for me anymore. I want to be who I was before.

But that process would have required a place to erase back to to be set up in the first place, and I feel like I can say with certainty that that's not an option available to you.

It doesn't actually help. The actions, and other people's memories of them, will still be there. Removing memories doesn't fix anything in the long term, it just makes more problems.

Welp, there's good old-fashioned traumatic repression. But it's not one I'd recommend.

There's also drinking, but that one's theoretically not great either.

Well, I'm looking for a way to make sure I wouldn't lose the wrong memory. Hence why I'm not just smashing my head repeatedly until I forget everything.
