[Kerry's brand new to the train and already feels stupidly raw given everything his first day made him confront. He looks tired when he starts the video.]

So the shop's the best place to buy a drink, ya? I just arrived here but could really use anything that dulls the senses. Problem is, don't 'xactly got the cred yet to start tossin' it around on somethin' like that. [As someone who has spent the last five decades with enough money to get whatever he wants, Kerry finds this very offputting, but he's trying not to seem like a rich bitch right off the bat so he still just seems tired more than annoyed.]

Any way I can set up an IOU or somethin'?

[Kerry has his own cybernetic implants but his look a little more on the fashionable side rather than being intimidating. He doesn't seem surprised at all by Yondu's blue skin either. He chuckles in a slightly dark way as Yondu brings up how terrible he looks.]

Fuck me, I must look like total shit.

Seen a lot worse. [Yondu shrugs, not judging.]

You need some company or you havin' one of them 'alone drinkin' moods?

[Because he's been there and he'll not fault a man for feeling the same.]

[Being alone means thinking about V. He doesn't want to think about V.]

Alright, hold on.

[He steps inside to go after his whiskey bottle (about a third empty).]

'Cmon, how about the music car. [He says in his raspy voice, gesturing down the corridor.]

That'n's pretty good. [Gives him shit to keep his mind busy with on this boring as hell train. It gives your emotions time to rot ya away.]

Music car, sure. [He seems amused by that, and a little uplifted by the idea too.]

Been meaning to check it out anyway. [He follows that way easily. He also kind of wishes he had brought along the guitar he had from home if that was the direction the night was going to go but he can always check out what the train's provided instead.]

Probably should have done first thing.

Eh, it ain't goin' nowhere. I've been hittin' it up on the regular. Still got stuff to go through. A ton of it ain't good, but y'know, at least it's somethin'.

[He looks for music he thinks Quill would like, most of the time. Sometimes he likes a song or two.]

You just used to drinkin' or somethin' eatin' ya?

[It's worth asking, but he's not truly expecting an honest answer. He starts off towards the music car, long coat moving slightly with his lazy, easy stride.]

Why not a little of both, huh? [Kerry replies with a smile. He's kind of eager to check out the music room now that they've decided that.]

Whatcha been listenin' to when you go through the stuff there?

So far? A buncha older Terran songs. But I ain't rulin' anything out. Liked Bowie a whole lot. Soldat turned me onto this Cab Calloway fella. Liked Johnny Cash. Few other songs here an' there.

[He waves dismissively. It's whatever.]

I know some people that like music a little lighter'n what I'm wantin', so I try to keep an ear out for those.

Is Terran your word for Earth? 'cause those are all Earth musicians.

[yondu]

[He knows there's some translator gaming happening, because he hears it different than how it's said. But he nods, figuring what's happened.]

Yeah. The boy I raised came from Terra, had some music his ma gave 'im before she passed. I didn't know her none, but he listened to it a lot so I got partial.

[And he still looks for new songs to give him, unlikely as he is to.]

Most of the music I've been findin' in there is Terran. All the better, don't need no Kree or Xandarian shit stuck in my head. [Luckily even if Kerry doesn't have his guitar, he'll find one in the music room. The train does have some pity.]

[When they get into the room, Kerry goes to the guitar. He picks it up and sits back down with it. He strums it once to test it and tune it.]

Your kid's ma had good taste if she gave him that sorta music.

I mean, not as good as mine but... [He grins in a way that shows he doesn't fully mean that. He loves his art a lot, but Cash and Bowie are legends too.]

[yondu]

She gave 'im a bunch he tore my ears up with, too. But it got him through so I didn't argue none.

[Yondu finds a chair to sit in, dragging it over near to Kerry and kicking back. He already got drunk this week so he'll probably only drink enough to sociable (and to spare his whiskey), but he's fine spending the time with someone like that.]

[As a guy that frequently calls himself pretty but doesn't actually believe anybody with good eyes would ever find him attractive, he can appreciate the humor.]

You play, huh?

Yep. That and fuckin' myself over with mind-alterin' substances 'bout the only things 'm good for.

[He starts to play a guitar cover of Moonage Daydream. He isn't usually one to play other people's music, but Yondu talking about Bowie puts him in a certain mood.]

Worse things to have a talent for.

[Always sucks when someone sees more light in what one does than oneself. Kerry's on a train with a bunch of trained killers, and Yondu doesn't know if what he said is true or not considering people's knack for hidin' their worse demons. But he'll just oblige him.]

Well, you weren't wrong about bein' good...

[He says about halfway through the song, braving a sip of the whiskey directly from the bottle.]

[Kerry smiles at the compliment and doesn't speak until the song's over. Once it is, he finally reaches out to have that drink.]

Ever'body gets a little heavy sometimes. One good thing about this damn place. At least now I don't have to be an asshole an' watch people go through it by their lonesome.

[Nobody threatening to kill him or displace him 'cause he's 'soft'. Ironically, all the people that tried to pull that shit with him are now dead by his own efforts. Even if they showed up, he'd damn well remind 'em. So now he can go as easy on anyone else as he pleases.]

Didn't leave me by my lonesome so think that's workin' out just fine.

[If it gets him some booze, he's more than happy that Yondu has let himself go a little 'soft.']

[Yondu snags another chair nearby with the toe of his boot and pulls it closer, and like the classiest of souls props up his legs on it.]

Ya sound like you put your heart into it. When you're playin', I mean.

[Like he puts his heart into his arrow, or that's the best he can describe it.]

[Kerry can't help but smile at that compliment too. He nods as he considers that.]

Glad you think so. Music's one of the only things that makes sense to me.

People're fucked up, but music I can manage.

You ain't wrong, most of 'em are.

[People say they're good more often than not, but that's not his experience. Most of them are just indifferent, and that makes them a whole different sort of a problem.]

You sound professional. What'dya used to do?

Music, yeah? [He pats the guitar.] They got music from other worlds here? Could see if any of my stuff is available to listen to.

[yondu]

Alright, yeah. [He nods over to the screens on the wall, the music search ICPs, before getting off.] They got a whole bunch, an' if they don't then you could probably tell the train to put some in. I don't know the music rules.

[Kerry takes a long drink before he gets up to check out the screens. He wants to see if his work will be on there and after some fiddling, he gets how the interface works.

He finds both Eurodyne and Samurai music. He's still too angry with Johnny to show off the music with his old band, so he completely skips over the Samurai music. His solo music, though, that he's more than happy to share.

He plays chromerock, which is a nice mix of popular rock styles and heavy metal. His music does tend towards experimental, as he has played with different styles over the years.]

Here we go. Wanna check it out? [He has several decades' worth of music to sort through, but he can start with his cover of Chippin' In to give Yondu a taste of music that's closer to what he might be used to.]

[Oh, hey! It's there. He comes over to download it onto his SCA, and puts on his earphones and leans back against the wall by one of the ICPs..]

[It is better than he expected. It's not a huge surprise, though, and it's a pleasant one. He nods about halfway through, expression reading that it's pretty good. He's enjoying it.]

Ya really are pretty good. Y'know, I know you say you cain't do nothin' of the like? But I seen people use instruments as weapons. I would reckon you could literally kill with that thing if you was armed up right.

You mean like with sound waves and shit? [He asks thoughtfully. He wouldn't mind using sound to subdue enemies if they got attacked by demons again. He's not sure how he feels about using music to kill though.]

That'd be one bad ass axe.
