Kazoo 16 - Video Post

[The video opens with a very somber-looking WangJi. Even more so than he normally looked for those who were actually able to tell. Even from the angle of the video, a very obvious pair of white ears from a rabbit kept bouncing into frame for a moment as WangJi made the post while holding Little Radish]

For those that knew him, Wei Ying... my husband... is no longer on the train. There are others still here, but he has departed the train.

[It was as simple as that.

For those that wish to find him, he can - predictably - be found in the Greenhouse with his two rabbits, Little Radish now snuggled in his arms and being a good comfort bunny while Little Carrot played with a random leaf that had been on the ground]

[WangJi nodded his head] That is good idea. It is better to be prepared on the chance something like that happens. I will also work on growing some extra produce.

[If nothing else, it would be good on missions because then fresh produce]

[‘i will also work on growing some extra.’ gosh, if sizhui's head moved any quicker, it might've snapped off his shoulders. he smiles wide though, clearly excited, head bobbing with affirmation while he offers.] Also a good idea!

And, if you would like, perhaps we could do some gardening together?

[WangJi saw the way his head snapped around and couldn't help a faint smile. Surprise]

Yes, I would like that. We should garden together.

[his heart can't handle this! seriously, sizhui's going to expire before their visit is over, but he's fine with it. best way to be taken out, let's be real.]

Marvelous! I'll have to find you one of these days, then. [and before little bunnies get any ideas, he's quick to pluck more carrot greens from the nearby bowl to lay on the table for them to continue munching at their leisure.] Is there anything particular you might like to plant? I've also been considering some flowers... maybe?

[No, don't expire. He didn't want his son to expire!]

I'm usually around. [Yes, that was a little bit of a joke since none of them were really going anywhere. The rabbits were more than happy to have more carrot greens to eat again and munched away] Flowers would certainly be nice. Perhaps potatoes if we are able.

[no worries, it'll take a whole lot more than that to put lan sizhui out of commission! (but it was pretty close.)

unsurprisingly, the joke gets a small smile from his son whose attention flickers between both rabbits, lowers to the nearby bowl then redirects back again after he's reached and plucked out a carrot stick.] Potatoes would be great! [he crunches half the vegetable, contemplating.] Mmm, maybe some other flowers from home? There are already lotuses, I've realized, and I'm so glad.

[It was true. There was probably a lot of things that WangJi could do without trying that would make someone expire from shock.

Little Carrot - fittingly - looked up as Sizhui picked up the carrot before returning to the snack that he had been given]

Yes, potatoes would be nice. [And oddly fitting] Hmm… I wouldn’t prioritize one flower over another. Any would be lovely. Though I do question the ones that are more sentient that are already here.

[sizhui glances toward the rabbit from his peripheral once little carrot's movement registers, but as he settles back down, he continues munching his own treat. a thoughtful hum on his end as he considers too, then he nods.

oddly fitting, indeed.] Understandable. [they really shouldn't pick just particular ones, to be fair, but which flowers would be best? he'll have to think about it longer, though until then, he's now thinking about the more sentient plants, which prompts him to mention:] Have you seen the Deku Baba?

[Of course, as most animals thought, Little Carrot believed all the food was for them, but he was being gracious and sharing with the humans.

WangJi nodded his head]

Yes, I have. That is the one I was thinking of. The rabbits are, of course, very weary of it, but it seems they have figured out how far they can be from it so it can't reach them.

[shouldn't be surprising that the bunny's expecting all food to be for them. sorry not sorry though, little guy, gotta let humans enjoy fresh produce too! and especially when they're vegetarian like lans.]

Fascinating, isn't it? Although, that makes sense, the rabbits likely don't want to become food for a carnivorous plant. [meaning they have decent self-preservation, thankfully.]

[Alas, rabbit would have to share. He would though, but he'd always think vegetables might be for him first]

Yes, I'm sure they do not. And I do not wish for them to be either. This is why I don't let them out of the hutch unsupervised.

But it is fascinating. Not something I'd ever considered seeing before.

[it's allowed, considering their love for veggies, even though he might be a little disappointed in the end. which is also okay most days because anytime they're around, sizhui will always share and it isn't like they don't already get their own daily food supply. no reason to overfeed them!

he wrinkles his nose thinking about one (or both!) of the poor bunnies getting snapped up by the deku baba; as much as he likes that interesting plant, there would problems.] Very smart of you, Hanguang-jun.

Me either. Do you think they are common where they come from? Hopefully not or that would prove troublesome for everyone.

[The thought pained his as well. It was a dangerous plant and they were rather defenseless when it came down to it. Their only real defense was running away from it. Which was fine considering it was stuck in one place, but there was no reason to tempt fate] They have learned to be cautious of it because I do not let them get close to it.

It is possible they could be common. However, it doesn't seem to be able to produce more of them as it is. I have watched it and it seems to only be the one. I hope that remains that way.

[having lan wangji tell him that the rabbits are wary around it and assure him there's only one is rather relieving. if that's true and it doesn't reproduce, this means there is a good chance they will never have to worry about anything except what they've got now. (unless the plant's owner wants to produce more but who would ever?)] Good. I can't blame the plant for its feeding habits, but I can be glad it likely won't eat any pets.

And if there's just the one then even better! We needn't worry about more springing up out of nowhere. [regardless of how nifty they are to examine sometimes.]

[He nodded] The plant is how it was made. It did not make a choice and thus has no blame. The only thing we can do is keep our animals away from it.

[He nodded] I'm sure there are enough of us who go there often that we'd be able to see if it was trying and stop it.
