2nd Jelly - Video
[When Rich appears on the screen, he doesn't look... all that great. He hasn't slept, and his eyes are a little red. As much as he's trying to keep his tone casual, he's not super convincing. He's obviously rattled.]
Yo. Rich Goranski here. Saw we got some more newcomers, and... well, something got my attention.
[Yes, something. Jack certainly doesn't deserve to be referred to as a someone.]
For those of you who haven't gotten saddled with my baggage yet: I come from a world with some pretty dangerous technology. I didn't want to talk about it much, because it sounded like it was something that I could deal with on my own. Didn't see anything that was dangerous around here related to my shit, so.
But now there's a certain robot asshole on this train, and in case he tries anything again, I thought it would be best to get everyone some info.
I left a document on the computer for people to look at. If you wanna talk about it, or if it gets deleted before you can see it, just come talk to me.
[He sighs and runs a hand through his messy hair.]
I know I'm probably being paranoid, but... all I got is information. If this helps anyone, it'll be worth it. Thanks for listening.
((Rich has made a document with his findings and a small warning on Handsome Jack. It's obvious that he's got trauma from robots, so feel free to have your character ignore this warning.
Also, he has not realized yet that he's giving the person he hates information on all his trauma. Whoopsie.
Threads here may have a higher chance of getting into triggering territory regarding mind control and Rich's mental health, so please use my opt out post if you need!))

[ He kneads a little bit, decides he's done and sets the dough aside to rise. ]
I'm not likely to notice that. [ That's just true. ] I was interested in the machine, and maybe what I could do to help.
If...you want to say more, I mean, you can. [ That's a little more effort than what he gave to Matsukaze, really. Gen had sighed at him a lot that time. ]

[He considers his lump of dough, sets it aside, and shrugs.]
I guess maybe it's just getting easier to talk about. Or your questions were easier to answer.

[ It's okay, he can't mess up the dough anyway, and he'll take it to add to the rest to rest and he then went to wash his hands. ]
Well, I guess that's good. I get that. There's things I find difficult to talk about. [ He isn't sure anyone would ask about that though. ] I don't usually get easy, but I'll take it.

[Rich teases gently as he moves to wash his hands.]
So if you really don't have any questions, you can tell me more about this whole tribe thing.

That I also get more often than you'd think. I already know I'm weird, it's not a secret.
[ He can't think of any, he was more interested in the science behind it really, and with that kind of settled. ]
Sure, the bread needs to rise. Depends on what you want to know really. But the bout is a pretty good place to start. I'd been living on the outskirts of the village for six months since then, because I wasn't permitted to set foot there, being an outsider and all that. [ He'll wash his hands too. ]
In that time, we'd been working to make an antibiotic, because Kohaku's sister was very sick. We needed wine and vinegar to complete the chemical process, and the best way to do that was to win the bout and claim it from the village. It worked out for everyone. The favourite, Magma was likely to win and Kohaku didn't like him. She trained Kinro and Ginro, as well as herself to enter. Chrome and I entered at the last minute to try and give someone a default if needed, or tire an opponent that wasn't on our side.
My first match was against Kohaku, which should've ended with me defaulting to pass her through, but Mantle told her that Suika had been hurt so she fled to save her, meaning she didn't quite make it back in time so I won by default.

Okay, so don't quite know all these people, but I've got the gist. You were just trying to help, but you were seen as an outsider, so you had to compete if you wanted to make medicine. Sounds like the odds were kind of stacked against you guys though.
I guess my big question is how there was a separate village of people in the first place? Everyone got frozen, right? So did enough people break free before you?

[ He shakes his head at the question, but he doesn't discourage him, he likes talking about his world, a lot. ]
No, there were six astronauts on the Internation Space Station at the time of the attack, so they were unaffected. They landed and built themselves a settlement on an island quite a ways off the coast of the mainland. They're the descendants from them. At some point, the tribe split in two and some of them headed to the mainland. It would be a bigger village, but they've run into some troubles, famine, that sort of thing.

"I'd have to revive more people, is what I'd have to do. And I'd have been alone for another year." That sounded unpleasant to him.

"I couldn't be alone again." It had gotten to him, alright, six months was more than enough.

Rich at least tries his best to be supportive and comforting. He doesn't want Senku to have to dwell on something so miserable.

He took a deep breath and shook it off. Ignoring his problems would completely make them vanish. It was a solid plan.
no subject
It's always best to ignore any problems, in Rich's opinion.

Don't ask him about the sexting. Just don't.

"Taiju, who is my best friend," a fact that might seem surprising considering he talked about Gen constantly, "saved me from some older kids that wanted to beat me up and he wanted to know what I was doing, and ever since then he followed me around and asked me questions he couldn't possibly understand the answers to." He smiled, a little bit fondly.
"While that protected me and my equipment because he's literally a human shield, it didn't make me any better at talking to people, and I typically didn't. They seemed to think I was crazy." Not an inaccurate assessment, he supposed. "Mostly I got a lot of strange looks." He shrugged. "I didn't particularly care back then about connecting with people. I had Taiju, and a little later, Yuzuriha too. She's his girlfriend, or would be if he just went for it."
When he got off on a tangent, sometimes he didn't really realize it. "After being petrified, I had to get better at it, to some extent. At least I talk to people now."
