[The feed opens up with... a far-too-close zoom-in on Enna's eye. But then once she's satisfied it's on, she leans back, and nods to herself.]

Hello! So, Vee did that game where everyone got to ask it three questions. And I thought it seemed kinda fun. It would be a fun way to get to know everyone here. So I think it should be a game for everyone to play.

If you can do this.... Caw, ICP? Thingy. And talk to people. Let people ask you three questions and use it to get to know people! And even if you're the kind of person who doesn't care about getting to know people, it's still worth trying, because if we're all on teams and going on missions together, the more we know about each other, the better we can work together. Tactics, battle strategy, abilities, knowledge, strengths and weaknesses... And things like personality, history, all of that. The more we know about each other, the better we'll be.

Ready? I'll start!

There doesn't appear to be a limit to that. Our Captain, Ryusui, has been petrified four times. None of those times included a fatal wound, but by happenstance he's been petrified. Several others have done it three times.

It was messy, getting our hands on the Medusa.

A very fascinating phenomenon actually, but we haven't explored too much because it's out of juice, and we don't know how to recharge it, yet.

Okay, I know it's a fourth question, so sue me. Do you know what the chemical composition of the Medusa is and how long someone needs to be petrified to heal completely? It could revolutionize our healing in the medical car.

Ah, I don't care how many questions I get asked. [ He waves his hand a little bit. ]

The Medusa is a weapon we think, it's a device. It looks like a mathematical knot, a trefoil knot to be specific. The technology is beyond anything I've ever seen and we haven't had access to a working one. It's out of energy. Whatever powers it, is dead.

[personal profile] strawberryprotector 2020-12-17 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
But you still have the tech to petrify and thaw people? Or was that a limited use thing?

We have the tech to depetrify them. It's a specific concentration of nital, after all.

The device we have is out of energy. You know how when you have an electronic you might get it to flicker for a moment?

That's how we revive Tsukasa. But after that, completely useless. Just a pretty artifact for the time being.

Interesting. It's a shame we can't access it with the tools we have here on the train to see what could be done.
10billionpercent: (Huh?)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-19 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
It would be one thing if we knew what powered it in the first place, but I honestly couldn't begin to guess yet.

The tech's far outside anything we would've ever known, and since our adversary's on the moon, alien technology is not outside the realm of possibility.

[ Our enemy is on the moon he says like this is a normal, unsurprising thing. ]

The moon? Really?

I mean...I guess I can't really judge considering all of my enemies have been in other planes of existence.

That's right. We pointed his location using GPS. You see, initially he was sending a transmission that was in morse code, that we happened to pick up when we first boosted our transmission tower. We obviously don't have satellites but whatever it is sent us a continuous stream of 'why'

[ Senku, was Ichigo even asking for all of this detail? Probably not. ]

So when I attempted to engage, the transmission stopped and it was radio silence until after we finished on treasure island, then we got a synthetic voice back interrupting our connection to the mainland and he was trying to give the command to turn us all to stone again. We pinpointed the transmission with an improvised parabolic antenna, and hooked that into our sonar system so we could track the movement of the signal and it corresponded with the movement of the moon.

Do you have a plan to get up there to get to them?
10billionpercent: (Satisfied)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-25 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, sure, obviously we need to build a rocket ship capable of making it to the moon and back. [ He says with a grin as though that were a normal thing. ]
strawberryprotector: (smile)

[personal profile] strawberryprotector 2020-12-28 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
And you've got the rocket fuel just easily on hand, I'm sure.
10billionpercent: (Actually Happy)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-28 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ He lets out a delighted giggle. ]

No, and that's so far on the roadmap you can't even believe it! We'd have to make it, it's usually a mix of a few propellants that burn in separate stages of the rocket's ascent into orbit.

Like the first stage is a usually a mixture of liquid oxygen and kerosene, which isn't too bad we just need to get the components and do a little chemistry in the lab.

[ Ichigo has actually found the mad scientist's true passion. ]

[personal profile] strawberryprotector 2020-12-29 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Can you even do the metalworking needed to keep that mix from violently exploding?
10billionpercent: (Ha Ha)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-29 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Given enough time to grab all the materials I need, absolutely. When I was a kid I was working on launching rockets into airspace. My third one made it into low orbit before it exploded, which is about as far as an amateur can get, but we'll be intending on building all the expensive equipment I couldn't afford at the time.
strawberryprotector: (laidback)

[personal profile] strawberryprotector 2020-12-29 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Damn, that's impressive! I'm sure you'll be able to make it up there before the one sending the signal makes it down to you.

I know where I went wrong, it was purely limitations in the ability I had to make the math more precise. It's a complicated thing, building rockets, so I'm confident we can make it happen, it will just take a bit of time and effort.

If anyone can do it, I'm sure you can.
