Imagination day 17 ; voice

[The surgery is complete and a success. He is resting on one of the beds in the medical room on the second floor. There are several layers of gauze wrapped around his head and he wraps himself up with blankets. It's a weird sensation to actually feel something in those sockets, as it has been years, and he realized he has eyes. But he's not ready yet, as he used to the darkness.

It must have been many hours, but he was knocked out. Upon awakening, the unpleasant side-effects of the anesthesia wear off, and he's starts waking up, feeling groggy after sleeping for a long time, that he's too weak to even call out to anyone nearby him, so speaking into the device]

Hello...? I think I'm all right? Is this thing even on? I'm awake. I'm okay, just had a very long sleep and a very long dream. I think all I ever wanted right now is blankets, pillows, and this sweet called ice cream? My head doesn't feel so good.

I'm going to lie down for a little bit.

Ichigo, is that you? You mean lying down, right? What kind of medicine is that? Made me feel very sleepy.

Yep, it's me. And yes, you probably should lie down. The medication, and Glorfindel-san, kept you asleep and dulled the pain of the procedure. I'll be there in a few minutes to check on you.

Ichigo knocked on the door of the room before opening it, so he wouldn't startle his friend and patient. "I come bearing ice cream. And with a small furry friend, to boot." He came over and took Xingchen's hand to put the ice cream bowl into before lifting Shiro up into the man's lap. "It's my cat, Shiro. Pretty soon, you'll be able to see what he looks like."

[Hopefully the voice was familiar--Raven had been one of the people helping heal and pain-block for Xingchen. Even if she'd kept herself in the background.

There's a pause, before she speaks again.]

I'll bring some extra blankets and pillows first.

Oh, can you hear me? I think your voice is familiar, but I didn't catch your name.

If you can bring that, I really appreciate that. Thank you very much.

Xingchen is lying down on the medic bed for the most part. He heard the knock on the door.

He brightens up, "You did? You brought ice cream for me? That makes me happy~♪" For the most part, he has eyes again so it's a strange feeling. But he's been advised to rest and focus on his healing for the most part.

He felt a lightweight on his lap with small paws. "You have a cat? Hello Shiro." He raises a hand to stroke the cat's ears and back.

[Which is as close to a goodbye as he's likely to get. It would take the walk along the train from supplies to medical, but Raven will knock before entering. Bringing two extra pillows and some extra blankets with her, bundled up in her arms.]

"Hey, you asked for it and there's no medical reason you can't have it. Hold on, and I'll lift the head of the bed so you can lean back on it." Reaching behind Xingchen, Ichigo raised the head of the bed to make it easier for the man to sit upright. "How are you feeling?"

Now that he sits upright, it's a little better and changes in position. "I'm feeling much better. So that medicine...anesthesia, right? Makes me feel a little woozy."

He pets the cat, hearing it's meow and he smiles. "Is it going to wear off soon?"

Hello? [With a cheerful upbeat] Hello! Come in, Raven.

[When she notices him, the patient has a blindfold around his head. He may look familiar because they're actually roommates]

Now I think I can hear you clearly. Raven, is it? You're my roommate.

[He'd looked familiar before, but it had also been in the rush and bustle of surgery. Raven had been more focused on her task at hand then.]

We are, and yes, it is. I have two extra pillows and some extra blankets.

[He reaches over blindly. Still weak from the anesthesia, so he should be resting]

You really brought it? Thank you, I appreciate that you did.

Just stay put. Are you in any pain?

[Because Raven is bringing those pillows within reach of his arms, and has the blankets tucked under her other arm.]

[He listens and stays put on the bed, and feeling the soft materials of the blanket and pillows really helps]

I feel sore and I think the side-effects of the anesthesia made me a little woozy. Will the medicine wear off in time?

Hey there! So you were the one getting the eye surgery the lady doctor mentioned. And it looks like it went well, so that's great!

Laying down would probably be a good idea, yeah, but so long as the docs don't have any objections, I can definitely swing by with some ice cream.

[He's lying down as Ichigo ordered to rest off the side-effects of the meds, so closing his eyes and hearing the voice]

Ah, who's that? Lea, is that you? Are you going to bring me ice cream, really? [With a cheerful upbeat] What kind of ice cream?

If you could, but don't over-exert on my behalf.

I think, I usually could pain-block on my own using my own spiritual energy, but I think...[searching the words for the feeling] I'm a little brain-foggy today.

[Being more awake and aware now, there is a feeling of feathers wrapping around him, cushioning him from the pain. What's interesting is somehow he can tell they are dark. Like if this were a bird, it's feathers would be dark brown or black or grey. There's something else in it as well, a faint feeling of 'cold'.]

You're still recovering, of course you're brain-foggy. I've got a block on you now, and it should last for a few hours unless you actively work to remove it.

OOC: I am mostly canon-blind to MZDS, but I figured I'd give you more info re: what Raven feels like spiritually. Idk if you're familiar with Teen Titans or not.]

Shiro curled up in Xingchen's lap and started to purr happily. "You'll be pretty tired for most of the day, and you'll probably be in and out of sleep a lot. But it will wear off after that. You'll probably be fine by morning, unless one of the healers comes to check in and can help you metabolize it faster."
