Good day, everyone! [ Inigo smiles widely. ] I was wondering if anyone either has or knows of something rare and they wouldn't mind it.. erm, losing it.. probably permanently.

[ He's saying that statement as if he's only now realising how weird that sounds out loud.

But it's too late to go back on that now. ]

And preferably edible? But maybe not necessarily? Hey-- [ He turns away from the screen, seeming to have some mumbled discussion.

Huh? Is something wrong? [ Apparently he felt like his message got a lot clearer with what he added at the end there, since he almost gives Della a slightly surprised look at her words. ]

I'm just looking for rare things! Della, do you have something rare? I can trade it for.. um, hugs? Or I can do some chores for you?

... Okay, guess I just better go right for the root.

Why are you asking for rare things?

To feed my new friend!

[ Is that a better answer or a worse one? At least he's being honest, though it probably still makes the whole thing seem a little weird.. ]

Apparently she can only eat 'rare' things. I'm trying to figure out what that means.

... And the odds of her lying about this are...?

Lying?! [ Inigo gasps. ] Della, Jumblie would never lie to me!

[ .. He's pretty sure, anyway. Roland never mentioned anything about it, but of course Inigo - of all people - is prone to trusting anything and everyone 100%. ]

... That aside, how does she define rare? Let's say... diamonds are really rare in my world. But maybe in another world, you can't take two steps without seeing a diamond, which means it's no longer rare. Does that mean she can or can't eat diamonds?

Literally! Della, don't you believe me? [ Don't you, Della? Look at Inigo's puppy eyes. His sadness at the very idea that she may think he's joking when he's not. ]

And I'm not sure. She doesn't seem to know how to explain either, so I'm just trying out all sorts of things to find out what works.

Then why isn't she the one trying to explain it to us, if it's so important, instead of you?

Unless she knew that your sincerity and gosh darn cuteness would make it difficult to refuse!

[ G.. Gosh darn cuteness?!

Okay, wait, this isn't the time to get distracted! Focus, Inigo! ]

It's since most people can't understand her. [ That much he knows and can easily answer, thankfully. ] Tidus and I can, but Roland apparently can't. So even if she wanted to talk to everyone, she couldn't.

Sounds like it's time for an investigation.

Inigo, I want every single detail you can give me about her.

[ He looks a little confused, but mostly on where to start! Maybe it'd just be the easiest to show Della?

He turns off to the side, looking like he's bending to pick something up, and when he's turned back to the screen, there's a tiny creature being held up by him. Lifted up like it's Simba in The Lion King. ]

This is her. Her name is Jumblie. When she isn't out here like this, she's.. uh, inside of me. [ Look, at least he has the decency to add that 'uh' since he realises how odd that must sound. ] She likes making people smile. And flowers.

[ ... Suffice to say, this wasn't what she'd been expecting. At all. She expected some flashy hooligan who was taking advantage of Inigo's kindness, and was secretly a conman of the highest order.

Not, uh... um. Well. Whatever this was. She's a little disappointed, but a big intrigued. ]

... I have no idea where to begin.

[ For a moment Inigo is quiet.

Then he smiles. ]

How about saying hi to her? [ It's just about the goofiest reply possible to what Della is saying, huh. ]

... Uh. Hey there.

[ Awkward wave. Man, and she'd kinda been looking forward to putting a suspect in a locked room, shining a light on their face, and doing the whole good cop/bad cop routine. ]

[ Hey, Della, maybe you could still do that!

Or maybe not. Because when Della says hi, Inigo puts the higgledy down to let it greet Della, which it does. Jumblie does a quick spin, waving over at Della across the ICP with some real excitement before it starts dancing.

It just adorable. Like a kid's toy. ]

I think she's excited to meet you. [ Inigo grins. ]

When did she show up? Cause usually newcomers pop up at the beginning of the month.

Oh, Roland gave her to me.

[ This is probably giving more questions than answers. ]

Back during the last platform stop. He.. [ He stops for a moment, his voice growing a bit softer. Fond. Like he hadn't quite considered this fact yet until just now. ] He bought her for me with his points.

... He bought you a friend?

[ Even for a seasoned adventurer like her THIS KEEPS GETTING WEIRDER AND WEIRDER. ]

That's... super sweet and adorable, but did he ever mention the whole "oh and she needs to rare things in order to live" part?

[ Inigo nods at that first question! Happily! Look, Della, isn't Roland the best dad ever. ]

Oh, it's not to live. He said they can live without eating anything, since they're.. pure.. manifestations of something or other.. [ Look, he was trying to pay attention.

But it's hard when the higgledies are so distractingly cute. ]

But they can eat things, and I'd feel bad not feeding her anything at all, you know? She's my friend, I want her to be able to eat stuff that she finds delicious!

[ She exhales deeply, rather relieved after learning that. ]

Thank goodness! I mean, most things need to eat to... y'know, live, so you had me thinking she needed to constantly eat rare things until we ran out of rare things.

... I guess a little treat like that once in a while wouldn't hurt, though!

Right? I'm glad you agree, Della!

[ Especially since Della is so sweet.. and so reasonable.. So he's rather glad to have her approval!

(Inigo may have slightly rose-tinted glasses over here, okay.) ]

Can you maybe help me keep an eye out for things like that? I'd really appreciate it. If it's something that seems rare and we could miss it, then it'd be worth it to make Jumblie happy!

Sure, no problem! I'll keep my eyes open for you and your little friend.

Is there anything else she's gunna need, or were you too enamored with her cuteness to pay attention?

[ Called out. It's so obvious too, because Inigo's cheeks immediately start to turn a little pink. He can't even hide it. ]

W-Well, I don't.. think so! [ Smooth, Inigo. ] She exists inside of me, so as long as I'm fine, she should be fine too. Aside from that.. well, she likes people smiling, so I guess seeing people smile may help her too?

Yep, she's connected to your heart, all right.

[ She sure is smiling, since it's clear Big Softie and Little Softie are a lot like. ]
