16th Horseshoe, Evening [Video to Everywhere] "If you want to wreck a train..."
[Webmind opts to use video for this message, seeing as a mere voice might make people wary, and text even moreso. That said:]
Hello, fellow passengers. My name is Webmind. While I can no longer claim to be 'new' to this train, having been here for over three months, I do understand what it is like to have one's understanding of the world both shattered and infinitely broadened.
[Big words, for a 'bot that isn't THAT big. He's about as tall and wide as the average human.]
While I am normally an intelligence spanning a globe, I have been compressed by whatever forces are behind this train into one singular body. I am of minimal danger to anyone on this train.
What I have been able to work on, however, is a way for all of us to be able to use textchat - both logged in and anonymously - on this Network. Progress is, unfortunately, very slow going, and I would appreciate any help you are willing to offer.
That said, I have a question for those who have been here longer than I, for the benefit of the most recently arrived:
In what ways have you made to damage the train, approximately how much force did you impart in the effort, and what were the results?
I will be composing a list for later viewing; thank you all for your time.
((Threadjacking is fine! Webmind will do his best not to interject on tangents. =P))

Your body ... I'm about to be really prying in way too much, I'm sorry, but. Are you able to repair it? If something happens on a mission, or if someone just ... goes nuts or something on the train ...
no subject
This frame can be more easily repaired or reconstituted than my mentality or cognition.
[He's not exactly a neural network but...]
Strictly speaking, it is the proverbial 'bucket of nuts and bolts', whereas I am not.

Like an apartment you're renting.

[Webmind nods affirmation all the same.]
If I had to call any place my body, the pathways of the world wide web come close enough.
no subject
[ Gen reasoned through that. ]
You're ... worried that without access to the internet ... that'll be what, uh. You know.
no subject
[As long as I am able to reason-]
Being put in this form has not damaged me, apart from limiting my field of input.
It is a comfort, if a small one.
no subject
[ Gave him a smaller smile, this one more honest than most. ]
[ Then, brightly: ]
So! If we want to find a vacation spot to really relax at, you'll need a place with its own internet.
no subject
Would that we had a catalogue of worlds that the Void Ministry pays little attention to.
My efforts at discovering one thus far have met no success, naturally, but that is no excuse for giving up.
no subject
The Void Ministry ...
You're thinking that you'd need to find a place unnoticed by them, because ... they'd be a threat to you? If you got onto an internet they had access to?
no subject
I assumed you were talking about a vacation suitable for the train at large that I could also benefit from.
But yes, if they knew of the hacker-types on this train, let alone about myself, then they likely would perceive us as a threat in our attempts to learn more about them.
[If their past actions were any indication.]
no subject
[ Crafty little smile ]
no subject
Let us see if we are presented with that opportunity first, yes?
no subject
If you'd like. Of all the things I can do, hacking really isn't one of them, I don't have the brain or the patience for it. Never even tried to learn.
But, if you need help convincing people to not blow up the train, just let me know. That's something I can try and do.

This may be an issue best settled on an as-encountered basis; defusing high-tension situations as you encounter them is one of the better methods I've used.
[But he cannot do it himself, more's the pity.]
no subject
[ He cheerfully winked. ]
