Hey hey, party people! For all you new cats and kittens, the name's Della Duck! And... someday I will think of a less embarrassing way to introduce myself. Not today.

Anyway! I know time's on a big pause button or whatever back home, but if it wasn't, you know what my world would be celebrating later this month? Only the best holiday ever made - Halloween! Dressing up in costumes, free candy, and scaring the pants off everyone! If you wear pants, anyway.

I know world-hopping and all those kinda shenanigans make celebrating holidays harder, but... it's Halloween. We gotta at least try. It'll be on the last day of the month, so, plenty of time to prepare if you wanna chip in! We need to use one of the big carriage, gotta make a lot of sweets, and go to town on stitching up costumes.

Now, for those of you who have no idea what Halloween is... you've got my sympathies, I'm so sorry. But here are some highlights!

One -  Haunted Houses. Again, can't go the extra mile 'cause... train. BUT I'm sure we can come pretty close! Things popping out at you, spooky noises, fear pumping through your veins!

Two - Trick or Treating. Usually this is for the little kids. They go from house to house, knock and say "Trick or Treat!" and then get candy. Still no houses, but I say who needs 'em! If a kid says it on that special day, we should have plenty of candy to go around for the tykes... or for the tykes at heart.

Three - COSTUMES! Be someone or something you're not! The sky's the limit! This year I had planned to go on "matching opposites" costumes with my twin brother, like we did when we were younger - I'd be a devil, he'd be an angel - but since he's not around, what will I be? That's a surprise. Cause I haven't thought of it yet.

Oh, it needs plenty! Creaky floorboards, spiderwebs, big eerie paintings that have eyes that follow you wherever you go...

Paintings with eyes that follow you? Goodness, that sounds like an impossible feat! [unless there's magic involved? because that might make sense.]

It's usually just a trick of the light.

... Or having someone hide behind the painting to "be" the eyes. Whichever is cheaper at the moment.

Oh! Well, that makes a bit more sense for sure.

What if someone were to hide behind the painting for moving eyes and jumping out to scare people?

[sos_pilot]

[ Theater gasp, hand to her heart. ]

That? I LOVE THAT. Brilliant, genius!

[deferences]

[he snickers, raises a hand to cover it with his sleeve, smiling in spite of himself.]

I thought that might go over well! Two scares for the price of one.

[sos_pilot]

Are there any other good ideas you've got wiggling up in that big brain of yours?

[deferences]

Hmmm... do we have the means to create frightening noises? Scratching on the walls and eerie moaning aside.

[sos_pilot]

No way! How are you this brilliant?!

[deferences]

Goodness, you flatter me! I suppose I just have a lot of experience.

[sos_pilot]

[ Amused - ]

You have a lot of experience scaring people?

[deferences]

Oh! No, I, uhm. [sizhui's a little embarrassed, he didn't mean for it to sound like that.]

I have a lot of experience with ghosts, which do scare people, though.

[sos_pilot]

Even better! What are you, some kinda buster of ghosts?

[ insert theme music here. ]

[deferences]

[how disappointing, he doesn't get the joke, but he's grinning anyway.]

You could say that, among other sorts of... atrocities.

Like vampires, werewolves, the occasional banshee? Cause we might have a lot in common, in that case.

[deferences]

Sort of, actually? They are known by different names and probably vary from your monsters in ways, but if we compare notes, I'm sure they are somewhat the same.

I am a bit new to adventuring, but yes, it's true! I look forward to expanding my horizons with you.
