Noonish: day 21 - Voice (with Action option)

[The voice is coming from one of the Quiet Cabins and if Eva sounds cranky, it's because she is.

In the short period of time before this, you might have seen Eva stalking her way towards the engine carriage. You might have even seen her order her clefairy (a pink, winged, pseudo-rabbit-like creature), Princess to attack the wall into it with not only a 'Moonforce' but also a 'Megaton Punch'. Suffice to say Princess came off looking like he'd tango'd with something more powerful than him and come off worse for wear.

He's tucked away in his pokeball for now.]

Does someone want to fill me in on what I've missed between Orange Team Ready to Jump, and awakening to find myself as luggage? Or several someones. I don't care. I care that I missed a mission! A chance to get off this Faiyā-blasted train!

[She groans.] Tell me we have a punching bag now at least?

[Eva, you don't even know how to box-]

[ Peter's got his chemistry book tucked in his arm as he exits Tony's makeshift lab and his eyes light up as he sees Eva before he goes over to her. He's already rambling by the time he's closed the distance. ]

Miss Eva! There you are! I was wondering-I mean I saw you right before the drop but I didn't say anything because Mr Stark pulled me aside and said I had to got with the Red Team and watch after Buttercup. Something about me being out of webfulid. Which I have some, again 'cause My Aunt's here now and she had my suit.

[ he explains with all the ease and cheer that one would expect from him. ]

Anyways, you didn't miss much-I'd say. Bunch of Goblin fighting and I never found out what their deal was but I did try. Buttercup and I went through a portal to Goblin world and didn't tell anyone and like immediately got captured and we made a deal not to tell Mr Stark but then he asked me about how things went before she could and I kinda can't lie so now I'm soups grounded.

That aside though, do you remember the conductor or whoever calling your name first? Bother Buttercup and Gwen said that's what they remember-and I think that Evie girl said the same thing.

[It's almost like he's a male version of Lyra and despite her mood, Eva does offer him a smile. Could she, she'd bring Elma's daughter to the train just to see them talking to each other. But then his words register and a pang of jealously lances her. How fair is that everyone seems to be getting their loved ones, or ones they know and she's by herself without even a rookie trainer to fight?

Hands tighten around Princess's pokeball for a fraction before she forcibly relaxes them.]

You'll have to introduce me to her.

[A sigh then she shakes her head, trying to focus on the main questions. Everything else can come later.] No, I don't. But I was more focused on the mission and the excitement of getting off train, even if it was to fight a bunch of goblins.

I gather everything went well for Red Team- aside from your adventure.

I mean, that's a mood.

[ Peter nods, knowing exactly what she meant by the 'excitement to get off the train.' They haven't been back on the train very long at all and already Peter is ready to stop again. He can't stand being confined to one place for very long. He wants to get out and do things! And since video games are out of the question for a few more days, he's stuck with limited things to do. ]

Yeah, I guess. I mean sure. The goal was to fight goblins. Mission accomplished, I guess.

[ They had to kill goblins. It's a fact that Peter's mostly figured out how to ignore but it's still there, haunting him a little when he tries to go to sleep. But even the goblin genocide doesn't scare him as bad as some other thoughts. Funny how that works. ]

Aunt May's great! She's also on the Orange Team so I'm sure you'll get to meet her.

[There's the briefest flash of confusion at the phrase, but then it's ignored. Maybe an idiom from his world.

She does acknowledge that Aunt May is in Orange with a nod, but that's a topic for after the more important one.]

Goblins- Oh. Imps and demons. What sort? Nothing too strenuous I'd hope.

Uh... no. I mean, I've got super strength so I was fine but I mean, I'm just not cool with the idea of killing anything, you know? I wanted to find out what was going on and why it was happening and maybe work something out so both sides could stop fighting? But the Goblins totally wouldn't talk to me-even after I like ripped some bars out of a wall.

[ He huffs, still upset over it. ]

[She nods. Not many people are, and she'd be worried if he was cool with that idea.

That said, she's going to ignore that and cut right to the chase:]

What happened? You weren't hurt?

Huh? No. I mean, I ripped the bars off and the Goblins just started freaking and rushing back in through the portal so they lost interest in me real quick.

Good.

[That they lost interest in him. When she next speaks, it's a statement without judgement or damnation.]

You survived, that the main thing. Where you alone?

We do indeed have a punching bag now.

[Brief pause.]

I've been worried about you. You've been gone for quite a while. How are you feeling besides pissed?

Thank the three!

[She'd be using it soon enough.]

Annoyed and upset. I missed out on a fight- on getting off the train!

[Tony nods, there wasn't anyway around that part. He could understand her anger, he would be too. Time away from this train was a very precious thing. However, he's also relieved it doesn't sound like- so far anyway- that anything worse befell her.]

What do you remember?

The lead up to the Jump, then Jumping, and then waking up as luggage!

[Eva sighs, hands tightening around Princess's pokeball.]

What happened on the mission? Peter-kun said you killed goblins?

[His eyebrows rise in surprise.]

So you weren't asked to go speak to the conductor?

[His gaze moves from her face to what he can see in her hand. He was momentarily distracted from her question with one of his own.]

Yes we did... is Princess alright?

If I was, I was too caught in the excitement of getting off train, even if it was to fight a bunch of goblins.

[She sighs - then there's a deer in the headlights look before she smiles. It's a bit plastic.]

Nothing a few days won't cure outside a pokemon centre. Pokemon are hardy and he's had worse at the hands of Fluf- Satoru's team.

[He'd have to convey this information to the council and see what they think it might mean. So far, everyone had been asked to go meet the conductor. What did it mean if she had not?

As he considers this though, she starts acting strange about Princess.]

And.. why exactly is Princess needing to be cured? Did something happen to him while you were gone? I didn't see your ball you keep him in since we've been back on the train.

[That's as close as he'll admit he was worried about the little critter.]

[On one hand, she really does not want to tell him; but on the other hand...

Eva exhales and straightens.]

The damage from having a Moonforce and Megaton Punch thrown back at him given we did attack the wall to the engine. Like I said, he'll be fine; he just needs a few days rest. Now, if I'd been caught in the backlash, I very likely would not be here talking to you.

[She shrugs a bit.] It's not like he broke any bones either- if he had, then I'd be getting worried. Pokemon heal quick and broken bones can set wrong and rebreaking them isn't like rebreaking a human bone.

And honestly, he's faced down worse in day-to-day life at the Battle Tree.

[The rest of that didn't sound good, but if she said everything was okay then he was going to simply believe her.]

Well just let me know if you actually disintegrate the punching bag. I can try and build a replacement. Need anything else from me?

How else could you learn but with practice? I'm helping a couple other people learn, I could add you to the list no problem!

[There's a smirk to her voice.] Then I'll be good at something Satoru isn't.

Uh. [Okay then.] Well, considering the messes we've gotten into, now might be a good time to learn anyway!

It would. I can't always rely on Princess to protect me after all.

My pokemon - He's a pink fluffy winged creature. He's been trained to fight - which is normal in my world and he wants to fight. If he didn't, I'd be rather dead.

[Eva that is not the weather damnit.]

[Look. He's trying to understand what she's saying in the only context he has.]

No...? Princess isn't a Summon and he's not magic, though I admit for the longest time pokemon were thought to be magic for the powers and abilities they hold.

You can meet him if you want.

I'm a little more interested in meeting you, but I'd like both!

You will have your chance. (This might be a better outcome for her.) Is your small friend still with you? I'm sorry you were stowed away in that manner.

I hope so.

[A huff before she settles with a sharp nod.] He is- and it's.... It has to be fine, if only because there's nothing we can do about it right now.

As long as we are in one piece, that is the best we can hope to achieve. I'm surprised there weren't more injuries - or casualties - after the battle.

(He will do all he can to reduce the number in both categories.)

How... How bad was it? Peter-kun's told me there were goblins and judging from the clothing I saw before I... became luggage... it was a world maybe from the late Heise-era?

Er, late feudal period...?

[Maybe? Look, as far as Eva cares, everyone outside of the Yamatai continent has Weird Time Keeping.]
