Video;
[Allen was quietly sitting juggling, his eyes not even looking at where they were going. Around him sat familiar faces of Timcampy; sitting on his head as usual and nuzzling his hair getting settled. Link jr or for those who might know Pokemon well enough Minccino seemingly playing with his shoulder length hair as if he was trying to beat it up by trying and failing to put it up.
The last one around him was Popplio who was watching eagerly for him to toss her a ball. Allen smiled as he soon did while still keeping another two going and she balanced what was thrown at her on her nose. After a moment the young man stopped, there was a reason he did this after all.]
I know when we get to new platforms that we have a welcome leaflet thing but... I figured I would ask doe it explain to those who aren't used to world-hopping what to expect like... there will always be something that happens every so often? Or... you have to adapt to the way the world we end up on for missions.
I figured I would ask because if there isn't anything there really should be so that we don't always have to explain and surprise people with it and that they can be informed. Though I also am curious to see for those who have been to more than one place, not counting the worlds we go to on the train and what might have been a common thread.
[Soon Popplio was nudging his hand as she wanted to play a little more.]
That is all I wanted to ask really.

You never seem to get a long break. After a mission since I've been here shortly after a mission something has happened. It might be because I've been to so many worlds that I honestly expect things to happen, so I might get surprised this time coming up and nothing will happen in the latter half of the month.

[ He's trying to think back, but...what could Allen be referring to? ]
no subject
That's what I mean. Something tends to happen in between missions. These were the two I was here for. Just reminded me of when I went to other places there was always something that would happen that was annoying in one way or another. Except now I am too use to it to get as annoyed at this point.

[ But... ]
So what, you think we should have a warning, hey, stuff happens?

I wouldn't want everyone to be oddly calm either, but understand that this can sometimes happen, but 1) It will pass, and 2) There is always a reason behind it, even if the reason isn't necessarily obvious. Because as you said the reason for the language thing was because of the message. By knowing there might be a reason might also get more to look into it as well rather than focusing on wondering what was going on.
I know if something else were to happen I'd even try...Even if my helpfulness might not be the best.

But hey, I think having someone around and telling you it's gonna be fine's what most people can do with. Better than any leaflet, you know? No need to put yourself down before you even try!

As for putting myself down, it's mostly because until like...couple years ago there were certain things I couldn't do in general, so I know I'm more of a physical person than say one whose good at investigating. I know my limits.

I just know sudden shock at things being vastly different is something that should at least be noted.

Unfortunately - speaking as someone very new! Who's never traveled between worlds before! - I believe trusting people's ability to adapt might be all we can do.
It seems that nobody knows what kind of worlds we'll see on these missions - so how would anyone be able to explain what would happen on these in a guide?
no subject
That would happen sometimes in the other places I've been to, like on the train we've had a memory situation and one-time people started speaking in different languages I didn't understand. It's actually why when something does happen I have managed to stop getting as annoyed as I used to and just accept it.
But when I would have gone to the first world I would have liked to have been known about that type of thing.

[ Tapped his chin, musing. ]
So you believe that there's someone on this train who wasn't surprised when that happened? Because it was a familiar consequence to world traveling, for them?
[ It's an interesting theory, if a huge stretch. ]

Though with memories it's still uncomfortable even if it's happened before.

[ Rather cheerful, instead of resigned or tired. It seems that he's pretty upbeat. ]
If you manage to find someone who's used to random stuff happening because of other-worldly travel - I would very much like to meet them. Imagine the stories they'd have!

[They might have been lucky anyway.]

If what I've read can be trusted, the train only goes to a particular planet once. So it seems most missions have been pretty different from each other at least in environment. There's the usual challenges of course, as far as fighting and errands go, but nothing too specific.
Re: Voice
Re: Voice
'Course, we later found out those worlds were actually all on or near the same planet as the castle, but go figure.
Re: Voice
Sounds like there was more to it, I assume for reasons.
Re: Voice
So multiple trips were rare unless the place was close by or the castle decided to go for another round.
Re: Voice
[Even after being used to oddities...that somehow surprised him.]
Re: Voice
[Yes, she knows that sounds weird, but after three years of it, the strangeness kinda wore off, leaving Dairine with mixed feelings. Mostly annoyance.]
It sucked.

Re: Voice
Honestly, despite being more comfortable and convenient, the castle was worse.

But now I have to wonder why I think this...
Voice
I think it's cause the train's been... more honest about the whole thing? We're told that we were brought here to help other worlds, and what do you know, it brings us to planets that seem to need help. Trips are on a regular schedule, so you at least have an idea of when things'll get busy. And the train's SCP system even warns us when the risks are high, so it seems to care at least a little.
Compare that to Cair Paradisa, where we had no idea why we were there. Things got shook up at least once a month, but at random and good luck guessing what it'd be. No one knew why until the end, only that the castle was likely to blame.
