5th Horseshoe - Video, early morning

[Nita looks rather disheveled - but it's more that her hair and clothes are clearly evident Nita's only been up a little while, than that she looks tired.

Still, her expression is grim.]

Anyone else here who just woke up with a vision, now's the time to report. Mine was- I was walking on clouds-

[Normal enough for her.]

Then I heard wings, something soaring through the fog towards me. It was some sort of bird. Its feathers were out of place, and it was just going to attack me when I woke up.

... Did anyone else get that, or are we getting a range of tasks on our mission tomorrow?

[Nita pauses, glancing down at what's most likely her Manual.]

And for those new here, yes some of us get visions before every mission. It's been pretty reliable.

Also, we can get book summaries if we look up titles here in the Library, whether we already have the books or not. If anyone wants to help me test out that feature's range, lemme know.

I was surrounded by flowers.

Large ones, with petals of a deep purple. I bent down, trying to reach into the nearest one... but the wind kept shaking them from my grasp.

[She hesitates for a moment.]

There was something strange about that wind, about the land... I don't think I can put a name to what, though. Or why.

... The wind itself causing trouble?

[Strange as Zelda describes it, Nita could understand what might cause that sort of thing.]

We'll likely have that question answered tomorrow, either way. Perhaps the birds and flowers are from the same land.

I too. [ She murmurs ]

Almost identical to yours, Nita.

[Nita bites her lip, though she almost immediately stops.]

That's two for birds, one for flowers...

Still, looks like there'll be some fighting for everyone involved.

[A bit like Orange's last assignment, not that Nita had gone on that.]

If we can't figure out what's up with those birds, anyway.

It was an obstacle to... something to do with the flowers. Not quite so powerful as a windstorm, I think, but dangerous nonetheless.

[She closes her eyes and nods her head.]

A wind that strong might explain why the bird's feathers seemed out of place.

Retrieving them, maybe?

[Either that or healing them; those are the top two reasons that come to mind.]

Yeah - wouldn't explain the look in the bird's eyes, though.

[ Listen, these visions? They may be pretty normal by now. Inigo doesn't get them himself, but he's heard others speak of them before every mission. He knows the deal by now. He knows that the people seeing them are probably used to them too, but--

Well, it's never going to stop him from worrying all the same. Especially when Nita definitely looks like she got woken up by it. ]

Are you alright?

[ Look, potential mission discussion can come after, okay, this question is obviously more important. ]

It still can't be an easy way to wake up.

[Nita nods, a small smile coming to her face at Inigo's concern.]

I am, yeah. I'll feel better after a shower, probably.

... It never is easy. Most visions usually don't end with a jump scare like that, though.

[Most; that one vision of a planet being burned out was on the more disturbing side.]

Go to sleep.

[That's all there is to it. No other words.]

Perhaps the birds are guardians of some sort? [ Nerdanel offers hesitantly ] I saw no flowers in mine.

[Is there a bit of amused-annoyance in their bond right now?

Yes, ma'am.

... But I still need to take a shower, okay?

[Nita nods.]

That sounds right. And the flowers weren't in mine, either.

[So why no overlap? Another question to add to the pile.]

They must be some sort of... warning system, I assume, based on the pattern that seems to happen. They always seem to be related, so perhaps the birds are guarding the flowers?

Depends on what everyone else says, I suppose - whether it relates to the flowers or not.

[Common themes, more than common visuals, would be extremely useful.]

Only flowers and birds then? Nothing else?

Keep an ear out.

[No doubt Curufin would be on in a while, at least - and Nita knows there's more receiving visions, whether they're speaking up now or not.]

.. Yes, seriously.

[ He smiles. There's an obvious edge of concern to it that Inigo can't quite hide. ]

Those visions ought to think of you a little more! I can't just allow them to startle you like that. [ Inigo lightly jokes. There's a bit more hesitation to the next part - but it's only a tiny bit, since he ends up saying it anyway, still with that smile on his face. ] Would you maybe like it if I came over to give you a hug? I sometimes think a hug would be nice after I've had a bad dream.

[Nita snorts.]

Most oracular-types don't get that kind of consideration, even when the Powers that Be are on their side.

[As evidenced by the number of people who normally get these visions...

Nita nods.]

Sure would! - If you're all right coming on down here to the Library this early in the day.

[She's not teasing him or anything this time - just remembering that it's a fair walk for most people even to the most newly-added train cars.]

I will. Good fortune, Nita!

[ Excuse you, Nita! Do you think he would not fight any Power that Is for your sake? Just to give you slightly better visions? Because Inigo totally would, okay. He's ready. ]

I almost thought for a moment there that you were joking about me not reading books.

[ Which would be an accurate joke. But Inigo does detect very few hints of a teasing edge to her tone, so that doesn't seem to be the intention behind the words. ]

But of course I'm alright with that if it means seeing you! I'll be right over, alright? Don't go anywhere!

[Including if one of those Powers were the good good Doggo from her dream??? ~~Not that Ponch is in charge of such things by any means, but~~

Nita nods, a wry smile still on her face.]

I'll be here. I won't even touch anything!

[Now if she's being snarky, it's toward herself. Come stop her, Inigo!]

[ ~~Okay, maybe not the doggo.. Inigo loves that doggo too much..~~

But true to his word, Inigo does show up very soon after - apparently he was, thankfully, not too far away from the library carriage when he talked to her.

Or, well, either that or he ran all the way over. The latter is very likely, since Inigo seems a little out of breath as he steps into the car. But he smiles all the same, and the moment he spots Nita, he already runs over to fling himself at her for a hug, arms wrapping around her. ]

Oh, my poor Nita!

[ He buries his face against her shoulder as he says it, but then pulls his head back enough to take a good look at her. ]

Are you already starting to feel a bit better?

[ But even as he asks that, Nita may notice something in turn too. Sure, they both probably generally look like they haven't been awake for super long yet, but from this up close there's a bit more visible about Inigo too. It's not mirrored in his actions or words or even tone, but there's a slight darkness under his eyes, like he may not have had a whole lot of sleep. ]

[There's a quiet 'oof' at first, but Nita settles into the hug just as happily.]

Yeah.

[She momentarily frowns, catching the very familiar darkness under his eyes - familiar from seeing her own in the mirror, particularly last month.

But she recovers, enough to say:]

Y'know, I think that period of unconsciousness we all get is supposed to make us more rested, not less!

[Since that was when the vision-dreams tended to happen. However... look at the two of them!]

[ He lets out a laugh. It's not quite as boisterous as usually - although that might also be since there's a hint of a callout in Nita's words, huh. Or at least an acknowledgement of what she's seeing now they're no longer seperated by screens. ]

I think it might just all be a big scam.

[ Inigo pauses, almost hesitant. He's not sure whether or not to ask this. Mostly since he doesn't want to push Nita too hard into talking about something she might not want to talk about - but also since he's kind of worried about her asking him the same thing in turn.

In the end he figures it's at least worth an attempt. It comes with a slight squeeze of his arms. ]

.. Hey, Nita.. Are you.. troubled by anything specific? I mean, aside from the vision..

[At first, Nita seems genuinely confused - if touched - by the question. Letting the hug linger, it takes a moment for her expression to change.]

I can't say I'm untroubled, but-

It's better than it was last month.

[Though, that was a fairly easy benchmark to cross, Nita thinks. But Inigo deserves honesty.]
