[ The ICP blinks to life from the newly revamped Library, and there is Roland standing about in his usual serious expression, only this time he's dressed with a new robe over his purple shirt. If his eyes look a little dull, or that frown refuses to turn upside down, it might just be your imagination. ]
Hey there. For the benefit of newcomers, or anyone I've yet to formally introduce myself to, my name is Roland. I’ll try not to take up too much of your time, here. But if you can lend me your ears, especially appealing to fellow Team Leads from other colors, I’d like to share a couple of important updates regarding the Voidtrecker’s mission supplies. This idea to allocate and consolidate resources came to our attention thanks to the initial efforts of Lightning from the Red Team, and Tidus from Purple. Please stay tuned here if this interests you. If not, then I guess we'll see each other around the train.
[ Roland nods, gives a breath, then smoothly continues. A practiced task for a tired mind. But nevertheless, professional. ]
Missions upon disembarking the Voidtrecker are filled with unexpected circumstances. Unfortunately, the train only gives us a small window to prepare before we begin work on other worlds, and we’re supplied with only the tools needed to get the job done. If you get hurt, or if you grow hungry, the train...won’t really provide. That’s going to be up to us.
[ He clenches a fist in determination. ] But thanks to the combined efforts of the passengers, we’ve now accumulated and bought a total of 453 healing and support items of varying types. We even have MRE’s – freeze-dried rations that can be rehydrated on the field for emergencies. We also have in stock a variety of supplies gathered from different worlds, like the seafood fished from Jema’grethy. That’s not all. [ Roland’s tone grows inspired. ]
Several of us have the ability to create supplies, or duplicate singles into multiples so points aren’t spent unnecessarily. Uta from Purple, I’ve heard, can make food worth ten pounds. Piccolo from Blue was responsible for duplicating lunch boxes and water canisters to two-hundred versions of each. After platform day, I’m sure we now have more people with similar skills and talents.
Team Leads across Red, Blue, and Orange. [ He nods as if addressing them individually, even though the ICP is broadcasted to all. ] These are resources which we would like to share when the time comes for our next mission. Purple already has volunteers to help ferry supplies and medicine, but this is a conversation that you may wish to hold with your own group of ‘treckers. Just one or two per team to help carry and account for resources per mission. It’s a big responsibility, but whoever volunteers, or is assigned to it, has nothing to worry about – they’ll never be alone. They have our support. All of us.
[ He reveals an item sitting nicely on his open palm. ] Supplies can be carried hassle-free in this nifty piece of equipment called an Arms Band. We have five in stock right now. With this, no one has to worry about bulky luggage; it keeps up to three melee weapons, one ranged weapon with unlimited ammunition of any kind, and an infinite amount of items. So long as you know what you’ve put inside, then you can summon it in and out easily. Please let me know if you’d like a demonstration. Additionally, they can be bought at the shop for forty-five points, but it would help us if you could distinguish buying the Arms Band for your personal use, versus buying one for mission usage only. If it’s the latter, we will need to audit it, what supplies are placed inside it, and we will need to ask for you to return it, post-mission. [ He hopes he doesn’t have to be explicit about why...If their names turn gold, then they’ll take the resources with them. ]

This is just the beginning. Please, we encourage people who would like to volunteer to do so without hesitation. We still need people to make lists, keep necessities in check, and to help cook even, especially for long mission days. Even ideas on additional storage options will help, since the Arms Band doesn’t self-organize. Good luck to you if you thought putting a hundred bottles of different potions inside your Arms Band was a good idea. [ He might have cracked a smile here…But no. Barely. He is impassioned though, which is typical for a guy like him. ]

Looks like our mutual friend really is a jack-of-all-trades. I'm not surprised. He's a talented kid. Would you know what kind of equipment he'd need to create these tools? We can order them piecemeal.

[ He hasn't met anyone who's put it so nicely before, and Roland can appreciate that. He's also starting to see that things really come in two's on this train - Gen has done nothing but speak highly of Senku since he's met him. That, he can appreciate too. ]
Don't worry. Just do your best around the train and on missions, and those points are bound to go up. I've tried appealing to the train to give us criteria for how to earn points, but to this day it's a mystery. It's a treasurer's worst nightmare. [ He makes a determined clench of a fist. ] But if you can ask him for that shopping list, let me know. We'll add it to request board. That said, do you have anything that might require a team effort to acquire, Gen?

[ Gen winks at Roland. He's got to maintain a certain facade, just in case he needs to play a different hand later - but regardless how people saw him, he wanted people to understand what an asset Senku was. ]
[ A treasurer? Interesting. He'd remember that Roland had a mind for not only organization and teamwork, but also for accounting. But to his question, he shrugged and grinned. ]
I've asked my friend to make some cola for me - that's a soda flavor this train doesn't have. I wouldn't suppose you could help him with finding those ingredients?

[ And he's had his fair share of bad food out of necessity. This wasn't a very delicious month, as far as Roland was concerned. Almost makes him miss the overabundance of carrots. ]

Ah, you'd need to get the exact amounts from Senku-chan, but he'll need carbonated water - or the means to create a reaction to produce CO2 for carbonated water - caramel - which he can make from any sugar, including honey - cilantro, and whole limes. The rind, apparently, is important.

We could - but the cola that currently exists from my home world is the stuff that Senku made in the first place. That's why I'd thought of requesting for the ingredients themselves.

In your world, Senku was the one who invented soda...? Can't you just buy it off the shelf?
[ Roland actually assumed the world they came from was a bit more similar to his home since Senku mentioned NASA, sending rockets to space, even credit cards. But then why would they have all of that but not something as simple as ready-to-drink soda in a bottle or can? ]

Oh. Oh, no, that's not the case at all. Forgive me, my dear, I've given you the wrong impression.
Society has entirely collapsed. A few thousand years ago. Senku re-invented the cola flavor, because he needed something to bribe me with.
[ He shrugged like that was no big deal, as if he wasn't aware what a bombshell that'd be. ]

The man thru the other end of the ICP holds up a hand, as if signaling Gen to pause for a moment, while his expression grows incredibly confused, concerned. ]
Hold on. [ Roland's voice remains steady, yet slightly charged. ] I'm sorry, did I overhear you? Or did you just tell me society's collapsed a few thousand years ago?
[ He expresses this as if he's asking someone to repeat his order at a restaurant. Internally, however, was an entirely different matter. ]

[ He's a little surprised that Senku hadn't covered this before with Roland. Only a little, though. Senku tended to concentrate directly on problems, didn't make small talk easily. ]
[ His expression is a little more sober. ]
This might seem a little fantastical. A little under four thousand years ago, everyone on Earth was petrified in a flash of light. We're still trying to figure out how and why, but we're pretty sure it's a weapon of some kind.
So society rather collapsed because ... there just weren't people to keep it going. There were astronauts on the space station, they managed to land and ... their descendants have a small settlement they've kept going in the meantime, but to modern sensibilities, it was very primitive.
Senku, luckily enough, was the first person to revive on his own. He figured out the, err, stuff that fell on his statue that revived him? And worked out a formula to revive other petrified people.
He's the one who's been bringing back technology and science. And, well, little luxuries, like my favorite drink. It was a really good bribe!
[ He grinned brightly, like it was no big deal. ]

Not only are Gen and Senku from a time four thousand years ago, but the revelation thrusts Roland into a different perspective looking at both boys. He sits there, his expression betraying little, and doesn't rush to speak as soon as Gen finishes. ]
...Yeah. A really good bribe.
[ Roland offers, lamely. You'll have to forgive him if he's trying to organize what to ask about first. At least, this was enough to be more than a distraction. This was a legitimate shake-up, though at most he just looks like he's stuck in deep, deep thought. ]
Gen. I need to ask you something. [ This might help clear things up for Roland. ] Senku once mentioned things that existed in the world where I'm president. [ Sort of. He quickly realizes that America and Aremica were...not quite the same. But siblings; close enough. ] From NASA to credit cards; to scientific principles I'm pretty sure exist there too, just that I'm not well-read enough to remember them as good as he does. [ Roland shakes his head. ] Are you and Senku talking about a version of earth where four thousand years ago, something turned all of humanity into stone? Except for those who were off-planet, in space?

That's exactly correct, my friend. That something is nearly certainly a weapon, as pointless as it seems. We're certain the astronauts had nothing to do with the attack - and it seems pointless to turn yourself into stone alongside everyone else, doesn't it?

But if what Gen was saying is true, then these two boys he had met on the train may just give him an idea of how to better prepare for a world of ruin if he should ever return, if Evermore was not to be his final home. The silence on his end of the feed is permeating, but Roland doesn't dally much longer than a a minute or two of thinking. ]
If you or Senku are interested in chatting with me about something, sometime in the near future...about your world, about what's happened to Earth, then I'd highly appreciate that. [ He's decidedly calm about this. It's just an inquiry. Nothing more. ] That is, if you two don't mind. I don't want to impose if this is a topic you'd rather not talk about.
