[ The ICP blinks to life from the newly revamped Library, and there is Roland standing about in his usual serious expression, only this time he's dressed with a new robe over his purple shirt. If his eyes look a little dull, or that frown refuses to turn upside down, it might just be your imagination. ]
Hey there. For the benefit of newcomers, or anyone I've yet to formally introduce myself to, my name is Roland. I’ll try not to take up too much of your time, here. But if you can lend me your ears, especially appealing to fellow Team Leads from other colors, I’d like to share a couple of important updates regarding the Voidtrecker’s mission supplies. This idea to allocate and consolidate resources came to our attention thanks to the initial efforts of Lightning from the Red Team, and Tidus from Purple. Please stay tuned here if this interests you. If not, then I guess we'll see each other around the train.
[ Roland nods, gives a breath, then smoothly continues. A practiced task for a tired mind. But nevertheless, professional. ]
Missions upon disembarking the Voidtrecker are filled with unexpected circumstances. Unfortunately, the train only gives us a small window to prepare before we begin work on other worlds, and we’re supplied with only the tools needed to get the job done. If you get hurt, or if you grow hungry, the train...won’t really provide. That’s going to be up to us.
[ He clenches a fist in determination. ] But thanks to the combined efforts of the passengers, we’ve now accumulated and bought a total of 453 healing and support items of varying types. We even have MRE’s – freeze-dried rations that can be rehydrated on the field for emergencies. We also have in stock a variety of supplies gathered from different worlds, like the seafood fished from Jema’grethy. That’s not all. [ Roland’s tone grows inspired. ]
Several of us have the ability to create supplies, or duplicate singles into multiples so points aren’t spent unnecessarily. Uta from Purple, I’ve heard, can make food worth ten pounds. Piccolo from Blue was responsible for duplicating lunch boxes and water canisters to two-hundred versions of each. After platform day, I’m sure we now have more people with similar skills and talents.
Team Leads across Red, Blue, and Orange. [ He nods as if addressing them individually, even though the ICP is broadcasted to all. ] These are resources which we would like to share when the time comes for our next mission. Purple already has volunteers to help ferry supplies and medicine, but this is a conversation that you may wish to hold with your own group of ‘treckers. Just one or two per team to help carry and account for resources per mission. It’s a big responsibility, but whoever volunteers, or is assigned to it, has nothing to worry about – they’ll never be alone. They have our support. All of us.
[ He reveals an item sitting nicely on his open palm. ] Supplies can be carried hassle-free in this nifty piece of equipment called an Arms Band. We have five in stock right now. With this, no one has to worry about bulky luggage; it keeps up to three melee weapons, one ranged weapon with unlimited ammunition of any kind, and an infinite amount of items. So long as you know what you’ve put inside, then you can summon it in and out easily. Please let me know if you’d like a demonstration. Additionally, they can be bought at the shop for forty-five points, but it would help us if you could distinguish buying the Arms Band for your personal use, versus buying one for mission usage only. If it’s the latter, we will need to audit it, what supplies are placed inside it, and we will need to ask for you to return it, post-mission. [ He hopes he doesn’t have to be explicit about why...If their names turn gold, then they’ll take the resources with them. ]
[ When this guy's on a roll, man is he on a roll. But! He's wrapping up. ]
This is just the beginning. Please, we encourage people who would like to volunteer to do so without hesitation. We still need people to make lists, keep necessities in check, and to help cook even, especially for long mission days. Even ideas on additional storage options will help, since the Arms Band doesn’t self-organize. Good luck to you if you thought putting a hundred bottles of different potions inside your Arms Band was a good idea. [ He might have cracked a smile here…But no. Barely. He is impassioned though, which is typical for a guy like him. ]
That’s mostly it. Thank you for listening. To those who volunteered already, be it their service on missions as quartermasters or supply keepers, or as passengers who decided to spend their points for shared resources. You all know who you are. We’re grateful for your support, because...
[ Roland only breaks eye contact briefly before he looks back at the monitor. There's something there which was absent, when he started recording. ]
...as someone wisely advised me, you gotta work with the team. That's the way to victory.
[ And with that, Roland flashes the only genuine smile he's made during his explanation. He salutes casually once to the ICP before he signs off. ]
I’m looking forward to our continued teamwork, everyone. Over and out.

Y'know, it would not be the first time I've put together 'survival packs' for capsules...
d'aaaaw future!trunks :( also sorry for that double sentence there!
Vehicles? You can put vehicles into your capsules? That's mighty impressive! [ And what a suggestion to come their way, now that they're planning for the next mission, a little bit more prepared than before! ] You bet I'd like a demonstration. Incredible. Do you need a lot of space?
Still depends on what mods let us 'order' :D
moving towards action? ;3
Definitely
[Trunks closes the feed and starts to make his way to the training gym. Which he's already very familiar with.]
< Action ; Gym >
- He shakes his head. Not the time. Work comes first. It has to. So he crosses his arms, stands there in the quiet, waiting for Trunks to come. ]
Re: < Action ; Gym >
I hope you weren't waiting long. It's nice to meet you in person.
[With a little half-bow too, before pulling out his capsule case from a pocket. The case holds 3 capsules, but fits nicely in a hand.]
< Action ; Gym >
Likewise. And not at all, I just got here a little before you did. [ His eyes immediately drift to the capsules in his hand. A protruding lever button stood at the end of each one. ]
Hard to believe such tiny things can carry things as big as vehicles. [ A finger rests under his chin, while his opposite hand cradles under his elbow. ] Please, floor's yours for the demo, Trunks.
Re: < Action ; Gym >
So, you can't carry living things in them, and you should never put a capsule inside another capsule. I'm not sure I'm enough of a scientist to properly explain or understand why, but that might also be something to worry about. Interactions with your ARMS bands.
[Trunks looked nothing *like* a scientist if one went on looks alone, to be fair. But he hadn't been raised by Bulma and Gohan to not use his brain, and his mother's lab had been his first playground in many ways.]
So what you do, is pick the capsule you want--this one's my mini-fridge, then click the button at the top, and toss.
[Which Trunks demonstrated, with a light toss of the capsule away from them both. There was a hoipoi sound, and a cloud of smoke, before it cleared away to reveal a mini fridge about half the size of a person.]
There's a button on the side you press, and it recapsulates much the same way.
< Action ; Gym >
Wow. I've never seen anything quite like your capsules, Trunks. That's definitely something we can use around here. [ Roland walks over to the mini-fridge, crouches down and runs his fingers against the smooth surface. He looks ups with a quirked eyebrow at Trunks. ] I've got a couple of questions about how this works, just to be sure, but for now...Why don't we try and assuage at least one of those worries, yeah?
[ He stands back up and gently gestures for the remaining box of two capsules that Trunks holds in his own hand. ] May I borrow that for a moment?
I checked with mod--no pocket-spaces-in-pocket-spaces-type-stuff.
[It was the only major objection Trunks had.]
The other two capsules just had some of my clothes, instead of what should be in them.
[Provided Roland doesn't try to store a capsule in the Arms Band, Trunks will pass him the one that, when activated, opens to have the small crate with his saiyan armor in it.]

[ Though this discovery has led to an interesting development, as far as Roland's concerned. When he's handed the two other capsules - and he wasn't going to try to put it in lest he accidentally blows his bicep off for messing with the rules of magitek and science that's far from his understanding - he palms it with care before he mimics Trunks's movement, activating the capsule and throwing it on the ground. The crate appears as soon as the smoke clears, and he's still looking mighty impressed. ]
This is great. This means we can split the task of carrying things around based on what's more suitable for the role. Capsules can be used for bigger objects that don't necessarily require a large quantity. [ He's on work mode immediately, and while he was about to get to the armor in the crate, he turns to Trunks first with a finger under his chin. ] Apart from what you've told me, what else are the limits on capsules? Can anything be turned into one? Is it one item per capsule, only? What about size and weight?
no subject
I'm not entirely sure how they're developed in terms of turning things into one. They have to be manufactured and I never paid much attention to that part. What's in them depends on the grade of the capsule though, and generally it is one item per capsule.

[ Roland does activate the last one, and he marvels at how something so small was able to compress everything all in that tiny little capsule. The ideas are running a mile per minute. ] I only ask because sometimes you have to get oddly specific with how you order things on the shop.
[ He studies the crates in more detail now. ] You've sure got a lot of styles in here. Looks like you've been on a journey of your own, before coming here.

The train pulled me from an...interesting point.
no subject
Oh yeah? [ He adds, upon hearing Trunks's final response. Roland is inherently...pretty bad at technology, so this wasn't a surprise. ] Sounds like a story waiting to be told.
no subject
Maybe another time. Besides, from what I understand, I'm not alone in having and interesting story.
no subject
[ He picks it up with two fingers and hands it to Trunks. An easy smile falls on his face. ]
Well. You first. Not now, but one day. [ Roland would rather hear about other people's tales, after all. His own needed no attention. ] Thanks, Trunks. I'm glad to make your acquaintance. Let's work together to help make this train and our missions better for everyone onboard.
no subject
Someday. And it's no trouble.
[Then he blinked, and held up a hand.]
Oh, there's one more thing that might be really useful if we can buy it in the shop, that exists in my world. It's a really specialized type of bean called a 'senzu bean'. They only grow in one place, and take a lot of cultivation in addition to being incredibly difficult to grow. They're about the size of a lima bean, but why they're important is this. One bean, even uncooked, can make a person feel full for about ten days. They're also incredibly useful after battles, because they'll heal anything short of death and restore your energy.
no subject
Really? That...That sounds exactly like a thing we'll need. [ Look at him get excited! ] But are they harvested per bean? We'll need to try to get some in the next platform day. I doubt this falls under the snack category despite its size, heh.

[ His fist curls up in determination, again. ] Thank you for sharing this with us, Trunks. It'll help us greatly. The more aid we can gather, the better.
no subject
[Trunks reaches up and brushes his bangs aside.]
I'm used to protecting people, so why wouldn't I share resources that might help?
[He means it as a rhetorical question.]
no subject
Heh. Right you are. I'm glad to know we've got another capable person onboard, even if we weren't here by choice. I've got your back in a fight, Trunks.
that's a wrap?
