Video: Attention Council members!

Ichigo Kurosaki of purple team here. I would like to establish a blood bank for the train with a personalized supply for each passenger. In order to store the blood refrigerators, it would mean sacrificing one of the four recovery rooms. Being that this is for the good of the train, would there be any objections from you all?

Were you talking to me, Tony?

I do remember the hawk. I didn't respond to their request for DNA samples. But I don't think Ichigo or any of the other doctors here are planning anything so nefarious as the hawk was. I don't really know much about the concept of blood type, nor do I know how to categorize and store blood supplies. But I'm sure Ichigo does. There must be ways to check for compatibility, otherwise blood transfusions would not be a norm of modern medical practice.

Nita might know how to do that. But it sounds as though you aren't just talking about blood types, but about other kinds of potential incompatibilities. I do see what you mean. My Elvish blood might not be safe for any mortal. [ Small laugh. ] At the least, it might give a mortal hallucinations.

Of course, Curufin. You know I'd rather talk to rational people like you.

I don't think they are. I'm just saying we have to be careful because something like that could happen. How do we know this fellow does know any of this?

One thing about modern medical practices.. it's only for humans in one particular world. We've had to be very careful with certain people in my world because their blood type was unique- like Peter's.

Are you purposefully being antagonistic? I'm talking to Curufin about this particular issue. I understand completely the point you're making.

More importantly, are you a doctor where you're from? What's your background for this kind of work?

[Tony busts out laughing.]

Got it. That explains so much.

Don't worry about it, kid. Just now I know why you're so excited about this blood bank.

[He just rolls his eyes at that first part.]

Look, I can respect that. All I've tried to do since I got on this train back when it was empty months ago is help people too. I've just seen a lot of weird shit since coming here and I've had to deal with the limited space for a really long time now. So yes, I support your idea about the individual mini-fridges in each room. I like the idea that we could lock them somehow so only those who have blood in the fridge and maybe the medical staff can access them. I'll even help make a programmable lock that will do that.

However, I wanted to explain to someone who isn't familiar with modern medicine why there's additional issues bringing that system here. It's important he knows why mixing blood could lead to dangerous things so he can back that part of our debate too.

Fine, you're not a kid.

And that reminds me, you should be aware of the fact people here who die don't stay dead. If you look at the train roster, you'll see some people have a heart next to their name. Those are the people who have died and revived.

Crawling with what?

Ichigo is a medical professional, so I'm sure he does know how to test for blood type. It's the other kinds of compatibility that are at issue. As you say, there is the possibility of a person's blood being unique within their own world, as for instance Peter's. In that case, he couldn't donate blood to anyone else, and I'm wondering if he'd be harmed if he received a transfusion of somebody else's blood?

And then, of course, we passengers on the Voidtrecker Express come from different worlds, and some of us might be different enough so that our blood might not always be compatible. As I was saying to Ichigo, I can't be sure that my Elvish blood wouldn't harm a mortal, from my world or any world. Nor could I vouch for its effect on any other race, especially from a world not my own.

I can see why Ichigo wants to have a supply of blood from each of us, in case we get hurt and it isn't certain what effect some other person's blood would have on us.
