 Ichigo Kurosaki of purple team here. I would like to establish a blood bank for the train with a personalized supply for each passenger. In order to store the blood refrigerators, it would mean sacrificing one of the four recovery rooms. Being that this is for the good of the train, would there be any objections from you all?

You have my vote, though my only question is could it still be used a recovery room in the advent we have more people than rooms?

It would be a very tight fit, but in a pinch it should be viable. If we're willing to restrict access to the toilet and shower we can even set it as the draw room. I am a certified phlebotomist, too.

Does phlebotomist cover transfusions too, or just doing the draws?

I suggest an alternative.

We've a luggage room that's being used to store certain supplies. Instead of scarifying a recovery room we need, the refrigerators should go somewhere they won't be a problem.

Space is a precious commodity, we need to make the best use of it.

There are two things that I see that can cause an issue with that, Gladio.

First, that is where we are storing other supplies.

Second, but actually more importantly, if a mission goes south again, we are going to be approximately 130 people in that luggage car all at once. Unlike the supplies, what Ichigo is speaking of will not fit inside the luggage, in the racks. It was a tight fit last time, and we had fewer people then.

In the event of a medical emergency, the luggage car is much too far away. When a bag of blood can keep someone alive long enough to be healed, can you make it to the luggage car, find the right fridge, the right bag of blood, and make it back before the patient bleeds out?

It's a known fact that people get hurt on the missions. Yes, there are people with mystic healing abilities, but they have limits. We have a surgical theater, but no supply of blood on hand for any of us. The storage car, much like the luggage car, is too far away in a situation where every second counts.

You asked around about blood replenishers, or that kind of thing? Easier to store than gallons of blood... though, I guess you'd only have it from people who bought into it, huh?

I guess it's more a matter of: is the equipment something you can find space for?

Hijacking this. I like this idea. Find out blood types, take it on a case-by-case basis. I don't mind giving blood if I've a type someone needs.

It has nothing to do with typing and crossing. We have neither the time or the equipment required for that. What I want to do is have a personalized supply for every passenger in case of emergencies. We have a surgical theater, but there is nothing in there to use when a patient is bleeding out to replace the lost blood volume. And it is unfair and unhealthy to abuse those capable of mystic healing. With the number of worlds, races, and species on the train, it is much more logical to have a personalized supply than to worry about typing and matching and making sure extraneous factors won't cause further medical complications.

I've got no objection at this moment.

But I was thinking that we could cram that blood bank refrigerator into the kitchen or the Stores Carriage if we had to. We'd just have to stick a big sign on its door. Something like, THESE ARE MEDICAL SUPPLIES, PLEASE DO NOT CONSUME. [ There aren't many vampires on board, so there is not too much danger of the blood vanishing mysteriously. ]

We might also harangue the train about giving us another car to use for medical purposes. But even if it agrees, that probably won't happen until the platform day after next. So, we'd better come up with an alternative.

Having a medical supply car would be ideal, and I will look into trying to find a way to get one of those. But in an emergency the Stores carriage is too far. When someone is losing blood rapidly and needs it replaced, you're down to seconds. Using the recovery room directly above the surgical chamber is the best place to keep the blood until we can get a medical supply car.

I'd like to point out something. You've been here a while. Do you remember a hawk who was a passenger briefly? They wanted a sample of everyone's DNA so they could transform and impersonate others. I don't think this is safe. Not to mention scientifically we don't know who is actually compatible with these samples other than ourselves. Maybe those of our blood type from our own world, but only maybe.

I agree with Gladio here. I don't see the point in using one of only four recovery rooms for storage when we can have a supply of all blood types and we have plenty of magical healers. We have a number of healing potions as well that don't recover blood supply. So no, I object to this idea.

By your own admission, the potions do nothing to treat life threatening blood loss. Also, what about when the healers are wounded or tapped out? And the potions are not limitless.

I have not yet consulted the other medics about this. It's more modern than Wen Qing-sensei is accustomed to, and I have yet to actually see The Doctor to speak with him on the matter. If I sit around and wait for others to do this, I would have no right to face my father or my instructors when I am able to return back to my world. Inaction can only cause harm.
