grasshopper 28, evening
[ Kaiba appears to be spending another late night in the gaming car. He's dressed in the silver and black outfit that's usual for him now, but he appears to be nursing a cup of tea and holding his temple as well. ]
Is anyone else still feeling off after the trip? It's not a headache, and I'm not weak or dizzy, so I don't need to go to the medical car. So don't start that. But it almost feels like a constant low-level state of dreaming. Like that time on the island, when someone or something thought they had any business interfering with our relationships by exposing our private memories.
[ The anger rises in his voice with every word, only to burn out at the end. He groans and flops back into the beanbag chair ]
Did something change, or am I losing my mind here?
[ He's dreading the answer either way, so he's just going to frown at the screen before sitting back. Sorry about the waves of grump, Della. ]

[Voice]
I- it might be you're feeling someone else's emotions? Or just a connection to someone else.
[Nita quietly thinks back to her own experiences with the memory cave. Then, abruptly.]
Did you end up walking out together from that memory cave? It may not have been a real place, but there's power in metaphor...
[It'll be fun sleeping on THAT, Nita supposes.]
[voice]
[ His voice is deathly calm, but his breath catches. Ok. He takes a deep breath, because Della doesn't deserve to be woken by one of his rampages this late. ]
You think this is permanent?
Re: [voice]
She can understand why he would be upset.]
I couldn't say.
[And she speaks honestly.]
There might be ways to 'untangle' whoever left that cave together, but I can't say it'd be anything like easy.
... Or painless, of itself.
[voice]
[ Stay calm, he reminds himself. ]
I know your experience was more involved than most of ours, but are you feeling anything like this?
[voice][Now locked to the cabin Kaiba's in]
Fortunately, he also asks her a question in turn.]
I do feel something.
And I can tell where they are, all the time. Not in a way that's irritating, but.
It's always there.
[voice][Now locked to their cabins]
[ A small chuckle. Being bonded to two must be even more difficult. He exhales. ]
Do you think this was the real reason the train brought us there? Are these bonds supposed to help us be more effective as a unit?
Re: [voice][Now locked to their cabins]
They might be. Maybe the train itself was forcing the issue, maybe it was the island, those spirits taking initiative...
[Depends on if there's more literature on the island's history, maybe info on what happened to other tourists.]
Can't imagine the train wanted to talk about what we saw in those visions - but, if it did, and just literally can't...
[Nita trails off, now thinking about the matter seriously - or at least more seriously than she'd been before!]
[voice][Now locked to their cabins]
Re: [voice][Now locked to their cabins]
Are we dealing with entirely new missions, or just places they've treaded before?
Or is the only danger we'll end up having in common, be those shadows?
[voice][Now locked to their cabins]
This is gonna be my new headache for the next week. Forget the bond.
Re: [voice][Now locked to their cabins]
[Nita groans.]
I'll agree with you on that; time loops - or even just paradoxes - are real headaches.
And I couldn't tell you which one they got themselves stuck in, assuming their plan worked at all and they didn't perish in the attempt...
[voice][Now locked to their cabins]
Re: [voice][Now locked to their cabins]
And yep; I've got it archived with notes in my own Manual, plus Eva lent her more tech-based pokemon to help store the memories as projections.
[So they'll be able to give more complete briefings come next platform... if anyone's able to sit still long enough to receive and understand it.]
[voice][Now locked to their cabins]/wrap?
[voice][Now locked to their cabins] Yes to wrap!
... We'd both best get some rest.

You know, I can feel your emotions a mile away now. Just a heads-up.
Video
...mm. I'm working on it.
Are you getting anything else over the link, or just my temper?

I'm also feeling this itch...as if I'd find you if I followed it a certain way. Anything like that?
no subject
[It was rather complicated to say the least.]
no subject
Still too much, but it could be worse.

I can control my emotions well enough, but this isn't going to be a cakewalk.
Are you feeling anything like this?

[ He sighs. ]
But you came out of the memory incident all right?
no subject
I did. Though uh... The person I was with saw the incident at Duelist Kingdom, so word of warning about that.
[At least from what he could gather she agreed that he he did wasn't right, but had an understanding to the reason behind it. So he at least knew it wasn't going to be a negative thing at least.]

[ Of course it couldn't be that easy. He paled visibly...the pain of that, and then losing anyway, had been replayed in his memory over and over again while his soul was imprisoned, with memories of Mokuba's cries taunting him over and over. So his memory was clear, and his face fell. ]
I preyed on your heart and insulted you for letting me live, while you were beaten-down and terrified for your grandfather...
...And even after that you saved my soul, but I'm not sure I would've saved his.
[ Just gonna bury his face in one hand. Ugh. ]

[It still made Yugi feel guilty that maybe things could have been different if they had just attempted to talk before. Yet he had never even thought to do that.]
But it's in the past now, we learned and moved past it.
no subject
[ He sounds exhausted more than anything. He's quiet for a moment before speaking again. ]
I'm sorry.
no subject
[Though how were they to know that he would just be sneaky and just take him without saying anything.]
Why are you saying sorry? As I said it's in the past, we've learned from it and moved past.
