Video

[Cassie is updating the wall of bugs in the garden car as she speaks.]

My dad's friend Luis is known for a crazy way of telling stories. So here's my attempt at it, good for a giggle at least?

[Cassie hits a rapid fire monologue of the mission plus train life. Insert events as needed.]

[The speed at which the retelling of the mission events is on its own something remarkable. So fast in fact, he suspects it’s all on one breath. ]

That is an interesting approach to storytelling. Is your father’s friend a storyteller by trade?

That I suspected hearing your rendition. So who is he then?

It’s a rare talent to be able to make others laugh. Especially when the subject is not inherently funny.

Sound like a good uncle to have. Even as unofficial one. [All this is sounding very mysterious...and he's not trying to be nosy, just curious.] What is that they do?

I see.

[No, he doesn't. Not in any modern sense at least. Still, an agreeable guard is better than one with a perpetual frown.]

He must be very popular with people they're protecting then.

I think you succeed. [ She smiles ]

But do not sell yourself short! After all, Luis is not here - tis you who have managed this!

Is that not true of all who live? But I think you did a wonderful job.

I am not sure I realized quite that much was happening on the train.

[Or, at least, it's a very different style than the kind of storytelling she's used to.]

[Her skills in observation must be atrophying at an alarming rate.]

A remarkable amount of information, then, delivered at quite the rapid pace.

It was efficient.

Do you intend to make a habit of such tales?

[A pause in thought]

I think there might be.

[The train does go rapidly from boredom to chaos.]

It might make sense to schedule it to coincide with new arrivals, though. Depending on how you intend to frame things.

Wow. That's really impressive.

[ Both all the events themselves as well as how she was able to fit all of them together in one go. ]
