Yo, listen up! Me and Light want to talk to you all about missions since one’s coming up soon. This won’t take long, so you can get back to chatting in a sec, okay? Alright, [ and there’s a grin his voice as he says, ] Light?

[ where is Lightning? On the other dining floor. She’s already stood at the whistle, arms folded loosely over her stomach, and at his prompting, she clears her throat and hits the button on the ICP she’s next to to switch the broadcast. ] A lot of shit’s happened, and some of you haven’t seen a mission yet. So... we’ve written out what to expect, based on the last seven missions. That, and we’ve got some updates about the supply situation after.

Long story short. Red gets the heavy combat, or the big target. Blue gets the defence, rescue or some mystical mumbo jumbo. Orange get the puzzles, the machines, or evacuations. Purple... get everything else.

It’s a mix: Purple and Blue have a few defending jobs, but you’ll see what the idea is with the past mission notes we’ve got.

... Right. First... I guess it’s not come up, but there’s no penalty for going on a mission that doesn’t match your shirt. When you read the brief, you should choose based on what you think you’ll be able to do. Red and Blue more than the others, because they’re… well. [ She gestures around, to the Purple and Orange uniforms outweighing Blue and Red more than two to one. ] Obviously, don’t switch to ‘em if you’re not confident in your ability to defend yourself. Ask around first, maybe go a few rounds, test yourself.

[ Is that all? She thinks so. ] Tidus?

Right! We don’t want anyone risking their own lives by team swappin’, so go with what suits you.

With that said - some of you might’ve heard Light reaching out about supplies, healing and protection. We’ve got some potions and full heals going - magic restoring and health drinks, that kind of thing. There isn’t enough yet to cover everyone, but if you’re planning to fight or heal, just ask. We’re still looking into more protection, but if you think you can help out, let us know.

If you don’t know what you’re gonna be doing on the mission… then read the notes. Talk to someone. If you wanna learn how to fight, or give first aid, or use the comms, whatever... there’s people who’ll help you.

I'm kidding. I don't do that anymore. But I can use the elements in various forms, I know knife and hand to hand combat, and I can use several different weapons. Mostly guns and bows. I'm a very good shot.

He's really got to figure out what he's okay with here... ]

Well, if you're more into fighting then Red, Blue, and Purple are good to read for when you get the objective. Red's always got a 'take out the thing' job, and then Purple's got the most fighting next, but Blue's job of defending usually means you're gonna bash some crabs in.

A lot of crabs.

I just need a weapon first. The ones I can make myself are more of the close up stabby variety.

Attacked everyone on every team last time! We had giant squids and things we were calling bear-sharks, but the crabs were annoying.

And... uh, Light will be good to ask about the weapons. [ she can jump in at some point ] We had a guy, but-

But if you're thinking about bows, someone onboard might be able to do something with that. Guns are a little harder though. Train doesn't make it easy to get weapons.

I ...am not sure why I have been put on Red team, I am absolutely not suited for fighting. The best I can do is keep other people from being horribly murdered while they do the fighting. ..Does red team ordinarily have no defensive options..?

.. I honestly would prefer it, if I had an option. But the train doesn't seem to allow that. All I can offer is some shields and a lot of hysterical teleporting about, that's hardly going to defeat a megaweapon.

Train can't make you go with Red Team. It stuck me in Purple, but I went with Blue last time!

You should go with whoever has the mission you think you can give to. That's how I'm gonna pick--but I'm gonna lean for Red or Blue, since I don't mind getting in a fight.

( during the last mission, yuna seemed to recall tidus had gone off with another team, leaving her to stick closely with the purple team. while she was glad she had sam around, he was no longer here and she wasn't feeling too happy about that.

although tidus was her closest companion and most important person, sam was someone she could bond over death with. someone who understood the need to be connected, but also suffered from the need to be connected.

so she wanted to make sure she could at least still have someone with her. so she manages to find tidus and confronts him. )

Tidus, this mission....are you planning on going with another team again?

[ The question comes as a surprise, but not entirely, once it sinks it. Yuna had been upset at how he'd decided to go with Blue before, though he'd wanted her to go with him--but she had wanted to stay with the others, which was fair.

Well... [ He drags the word some, thinking, but eventually: ] Probably... it depends what's going on. Where I think I'll be good at.

[ That would ultimately be important, though he would keep an eye on Blue and Red. But with that, Tidus looks at Yuna. ]

I'm....I'm not sure if I should. Sam went home and well to be honest I don't want to be away from you. If that means going on another team, I think I should.

( she wasn't trying to sound clingy, and based on the way she was standing and fiddling with her braid, it was clear she wasn't too confident about voicing her thoughts.

[ Sam's name was gold? There was a chance, he knew, that maybe Sam would come back--but maybe it was't good to hope on such things when, well...leaving completely was just as likely.

His face is sympathetic for a moment, then the edges of his mouth pulling upward at her last remark. ]

And a lot more. I wouldn't want anyone crossing you. [ For their benefit, than what they'd manage to do to her. ] We can decide it together. We'll see what comes up and make a choice then.

Alright, I think that could work. I just don't want to waste anymore time, if we can work together to help others here then I think we should. After all, we both have Brotherhood now and can do a lot of damage if we make a plan.

( besides, switching teams would give her another chance to meet more people and be there for tidus when he needed her. )
