[ Broadcasting from the Dressing Carriage, a young man dressed in a purple shirt and coat comes onscreen. Though this might be his first time showing his face on the ICP for all to see, he carries himself with a practiced ease that can only come from years of ~~televised~~ experience. He may even come across as a little too stiff and serious, shoulders back and chin up, voice sure and certain. ]

[ From time to time, those watching this broadcast might even see a certain Spider dart in and out of the ICP's periphery, eyes shining in the dim light. ]

Hello and good day to my fellow Voidtrecker passengers. I have already met some of you, but for those I have yet to introduce myself to, my name is Roland Crane. I ask only for a few moments of your time as I read to you the following statement on behalf of a proactive citiz - ah, member of the train. [ His eyes dart down from time to time as he reads from a piece of paper. ]

Friends, a day ago we saw the exit of more of those who once travelled with us. Among them was Yuffie, the Black Team's designated team lead. [ A pause. ] While we are by no means taking over the Black Team, there was a thought inspired by their goals which we would now like to pitch to the train at large. [ Another pause. ]

Your friendly Spider Seamstress would like to take this chance to offer interested parties a special black wristband. These are no ordinary accessories, as they will all be imbued with magic. What they would allow her to do is locate the wearer so that during missions, she can open teleportation gates to their precise location. This means that those on-ground would not be confined to one team, but could go to where their skills and talents will most likely be needed. These people would then form the newly decided upon Black Squad. [ He's not pausing for dramatic effect, you are! ]

This arrangement would be voluntary, but has the power to greatly increase our collective response time, give bolstering to any team that needed it, and to better allocate our resources. [ Roland turns to the ICP, and goes off-script. ] Speaking for myself, I think it's a great initiative given that we need to spread backup and recon depending on the severity of our task. This sort of reminds me of something from home. When there's danger afoot, or you need immediate help, we would call the appropriate offices to respond first on the scene.

[ He turns back to the final part of the script. ] If you have any questions, please contact Misa or Roland in the Dressing Carriage.

[ Roland's eyes dart to the side, as if silently communicating with someone off-screen. He nods with a smile. ] Thank you for listening, and have a pleasant Grasshopper day ahead.

It's good to see you up and about again, Nita. You feeling better?

[ Roland keeps his eyes on the ICP, though it does look like he's communicating the message to said Spider seamstress away from the screen. He chuckles and nods back to Nita after a quick yet silent conversation. ]

What kind of power boost is it? Thanks, I'm pretty sure she's grateful for that support! This is a pretty ambitious undertaking, after all.

[Nita nods, letting Roland have his moment with Charlotte before speaking up again.]

Just pure energy - remind her of what happened when she last 'evolved' and she should know what I mean.

And it is a pretty big shift from the norm. Most of the time we can't change tasks quickly, and we don't exactly have each other's coordinates when we're dropped off in different places.

[There WERE maps on the SCA, but they only listed one's own position and that of their team's goal.]

Heh. Hear that? [ He turns to Kumoko, resting to the side. ] I'm not entirely sure of the details, but I am now obligated to remind you of what Nita can accomplish with you, side-by-side. [ Evolved, huh? He'll have to ask about that later. Was it like molting...? But certainly she was no ordinary spider. ]

The upcoming mission is going to be my first. [ He shifts pretty fast to Work Mode again, something Roland seems to do seamlessly. ] I guess I'll be part of the trial run. I think we should start using these - [ He points to his ear, one of which already has an earbud from the music room. ] too. I believe they connect wirelessly to our SCA's, and might be a good form of communication as well.

[Nita looks briefly amused, then it's back to business for her, too.]

Really? That definitely sounds useful - I'd better pick up a pair.

[It'd be nice to have her own collection of tracks again.]

Though they still shouldn't be the only thing we have available in the field.

Yeah. I had someone teach me how to connect it, when I went up to check the new music car. I just hope it doesn't run on some signal or something...Or the next world we go to doesn't mess any of that up.

[ Curious. Roland tilts his head a little, listening close. ] What else did you have in mind?

[She'd suggest wizardry again, but all three wizards are normally on the same team; using them as a point of contact would be highly limited.]

We still have some broad-range telepaths on board here, that we can fall back on if something fails.

And if Samata wants to share them out again, we have her communication boards as well.

... Not sure if the devices Feanor made are still around, but that's a sort of technological-magic device. Similar principle, made by a different process.

[Since Roland hasn't experienced any of those three before, Nita's filling in the extra info for him.]

[ He takes note of all the names, relying on his memory for now since he left his journal at the sleeper cabin. ]

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. It's good to know the talents of every passenger so we can better allocate them where they'll be able to help the most. [ He can't help but jab playfully at Nita, though. ] I don't have your talent for magic, never did, but I'm looking forward to seeing you rally the spellcasters.

[ Internally, Roland hopes it never has to come to that. ]

[Nita playfully huffs.]

If anyone's doing that rallying, it's Charlotte.

[And sometimes, even two cooks in the kitchen was one too many.]

But I'll be out there where I'm needed, same as you.

[ Roland takes note of that. She really wasn't kidding the first time they met when she told him about picking from a list of names... ]

Then let's back each other up, Nita. [ Determined nod! ] Don't even hesitate. Just call. [ And he means that. They were going to a battle with little to no information. Now was the time to come together.

A concept Roland is more than familiar with. ]

[Nita nods, slightly less playful now because she means this.]
