Mostly because Sarai really enjoyed cooking and baking. It was fairly clear that her mood was turning around--and not just because Maru was cute. Though he certainly was that!

"... I'm not a bad cook." He was just too damn lazy to do it usually. Instant foods were so much quicker and easier to deal with. But that this lady and her husband knew how to cook were good things. Even better that she could make really good cookies. He liked them a lot.
