Following that other one... [video]
If there are any kids- both big and small- who don't want to be alone right now, I'm making hot chocolate and blanket forts in the dining room.
Also, bring a blanket.
Also, bring a blanket.

If the girl would accept it. Fëanor knows very little about her, close to nothing, but then all children are in a way similar.
"That's good. I trust they'll make a good decision."
A decision he can't be part of. Fëanor knows he's too persuasive for his own good. And in that case, it's better for everyone that he didn't get involved too much.

"You have recused yourself from this decision?" he asked.

The answer is as simple as it can be. There was a lot of shouting. Nothing he really feels the need of sharing and yet...
"I cannot be called unbiased in this situation."
Not in the slightest. He agreed they need to be reasonable. If the discussion got heated, and it most likely would, he can't guarantee he'll be able to stay reasonable. So the best he can do is stay away from the discussion. Otherwise, he might say what he really thinks. That he wants this Wester person dead...

But he did have the ability to sooth, if the other person would let him. He did not have the ability to "make it all better" or "help them forget" as that was not within his power, but he could take the sting out, and help some process so they could move past the pain.

"Technically, no. If you are looking for absolutely impartial judgement than none that are here qualify. But then I doubt such a person exists and if it does I don't want to meet them. Ever."
He believes Glorfindel is angry. He can see this. Would he act on this anger? Most likely not. Fëanor would like to be so sure he wouldn't himself either. As has no such certainty all he can do is remove himself from the situation where he's likely to explode or worse convince others to his point of view while he's barely holding off his own anger.
