"I hope so." She nods. "But I fear more that the wedges will drive us all apart."

"Some of us have learned that lesson well and will be harder to drive apart than others," Glorfindel said seriously. "We need to speak softly, wisely, counsel kindness, and remind them that this is not permanent, for all that we do not know anything else."

"But will they listen?" She sighs. "Well. All we can do is try. Emotions running hot is a dangerous time for all."

"We have enough people here with strong personalities that I think if it is only one or two, they can be persuaded to calmer means."

It would have to work. He knew all too well the consequences if civilized discourse were to fail.
