[He'd been in space. He'd faced monsters. And yet he was still shook up. Monsters were one thing, they were fantastical, but talking about murder and punishment and all of that, and not just talking about it, was something else entirely. It was real.

[He'd go get Dyme a drink in a few minutes, but he was trying to gauge how shaken up the boy was.]

[He laughed, but it was a little watery around the edges. Honestly, he looked like he'd already been crying a little, because he had, but he was doing his best to be strong. He knew healing didn't have some kind of schedule, and it hadn't been that long ago since he'd lost someone himself, just a few months, less than a year, but he felt like...like he needed to be strong.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed his hair back from his forehead and surveyed the seats.]

Yeah, that does make things more complicated. I'm sure we can figure something out, though.

[The poor kid. He almost laughed internally as he thought about how soft he'd gotten. He barely knew Dyme and he was wishing he could give the poor fellow a hug. His life had changed so much, it was strange to think about. Was he even recognizable in some respects to the man he was back home?]

Are you any good at telling stories or playing instruments? We have a whole room that needs something positive to think about.

Uh. I'm not much of a story teller, but I play guitar and piano.

[He hadn't seen either of those things on board, but he'd be getting a guitar...eventually. It was too bad he didn't have it now; it would have come in handy. Music was almost always a good way to take his mind off of things, and he knew it was the same for a lot of people.]

Really? Want to borrow a guitar? You'll need to be careful with it and give it back, but I bet the kids would love to hear you play.

I'd be super careful with it. I always treat instruments well. [That was a promise.] And I honestly have no idea? I've met Curufin but I don't think I know any of his family.

I'll go get the guitar. Watch the kids for a minute, okay?

[It took only a couple minutes from where they were for him to go retrieve the instrument. With only slight hesitation, he handed it over. He didn't know Dyme very well, but he believed that sincere promise to take care of it.]
