[Sam isn't the best at comforting. He's not the best at talking to people, often doesn't know what to say, and doesn't like getting close to most people physically besides that.

But he shows up in the dining car all the same, thoroughly disgusted by the sideshow that was a person broadcasting a murder with no thought for anyone who might come upon it unwillingly.]

...Here's to some of the kids not having witnessed anything.

[His unconscious avoidance of physical contact might be something Tony has picked up on, even in the short time Sam has been in the room. It's not as pronounced around the children, but it's still there.

As much as he likes not being recognized immediately by people, it does come with the disadvantage of having nobody know why Sam is the way he is.]

[The hesitation got his eyebrow to raise, but the explanation was accepted easily enough. Although he wondered if this was any touch at all- if so, this was a really awful place for this guy to be with how crowded the train was.]
