[ It's been awhile since Peter's made an announcement and he's even using the video function this time. ]

H-hey guys! I uh... it's been a bit? huh?

Sorry, I just wasn't feeling myself so I've kept mostly to uh... myself that past week or whatever it's been.

but I'm feeling better now! A lot better, I think. I don't know-we'll see.

But since I kinda spaced on platform day-I'd like to actually say high to the new guys.

So uh... hi? I'm Peter Parker. You can usually find me in the dressing room or the movie car. Nice to meet you all?

Hey, Peter. My name's Kitty Pryde. I think we bumped into each other on the platform when I first got here.

oh! Yeah! hey. I kinda remember that-sorry I was just really out of that day-my girlfriend left so uh... I've just been kinda depressed, you know?

[ He sucks in a breath and tries to relax a little. ]

But I'm trying to bounce back. [ He always bounces back. ]

Oh...yeah, I get that. I'm sorry to hear that. That really stinks.

How're you holding up?

Pretty good, I think. I mean-I'm not exactly a stranger to this kinda thing but it still sucks. A lot. But at some point you just have to keep going so that's-that's what I'm going.

It definitely sucks.

[ Being alone was probably the worst part about being here, and while it isn't exactly the same, she can still understand it. ]

But it's good that you're working through it. [ Sometimes, just taking those little steps can really help. ] And it's nice to officially meet you...more or less.

Yeah, well. It's Parkerluck.

Sometimes it feels like all I do is deal with the bad stuff so I guess that's sorta taught me to really value the good stuff.

[ However fleeting that might be. ]

Yeah...sometimes that's all we really can do.

[ Doesn't make it any less difficult though. ]

Well, if you ever wanna talk, I'm always willing to lend an ear. [ Then she shrugs. ] It doesn't have to be about this, either, you could come find me if you just wanna complain about chores or something.

[ Since they barely know each other, she's sure he probably won't want to talk about the really heavy stuff. But she's willing to talk about anything if he wants. ]

[ Peter shakes his head quickly. He knows that trap when he sees it! ]

Nope-no. Don't complain about chores and never complain about being bored-Mr Stark will find out and give you chores.

I mentioned being bored once and he gave me like a list of ten things he wanted done.

[ She can't help a snicker at that. ]

Really? Man, that sounds like someone I know back home.

[ Although it was less 'chores' and more 'sessions in the Danger Room'. ]

[ He'd probably prefer that to washing dishes honestly. ]

Maybe it's just an adult thing. My Uncle would do the same thing.

[ Probably not with Logan. ]

Probably. My grandfather used to say that if you're bored, then you're not really thinking.

[ That's probably why she became such an overachiever. ]

[ That sounds exactly like something Tony would say. ]

I'm not sure how much I'd agree with that sentiment-I mean I'm pretty much always thinking-or specifically over thinking. I'm a pro at that last one.

I know, right? You can still get bored with something even if you're in the middle of doing or thinking about it.

[ Doing too much of something is a good way to get bored of it. ]

Right? I mean my attention span's not that great as it is.

[ She laughs softly. ] I get that. Besides, it's easier to focus on something when you're actually interested in it.

[ And chores? Not all that interesting. ]

Long time no see. You doing all right?

Yeah, I guess. As good as I can. What's up?

Danny was completely in favor of distractions as coping strategies.

"Oh, hey! Are you still trying to collect all the legos? Because I realized I bought a lego set and never did anything with it."

Yeah. legos never get old.

"Then I've got one space shuttle themed lego kit to contribute to the cause."

Danny maintained that the space shuttle was still the coolest thing ever.

Awesome! I love Space!

[ You know, if his NASA shirt wasn't enough of a giveaway. ]

[Did Danny forget to mention his own NASA shirt back home? ]

Me too! I even have a couple of space shuttle models back home. Hey, did I ever tell you about the time I got to land the shuttle?

I’m Elena, and we’ve been roommates for the last ten days, but it’s okay if you haven’t noticed.

It’s good to see you out and about and not holed up in your bunk.

Oh, yeah! Hi!

sorry, I just have been a little out of it. Nice to actually meet you though.

Likewise. I was getting a little worried about you, since you always seemed to be asleep, so it’s good to hear that you’re feeling better.

Oh, I just sleep late is all since I don't actually sleep that well at night. I'm usually up before lunch though-usually.

Well I guess it’s good we’re on a train without a set schedule, then. How does that work back home, though? Are you a student?

[Said with all the authority she can muster as a 19 year old high school dropout.]

Yeah, but I have an alarm clock and uh.. usually had access to a lot of energy drinks.

Where did you even be being. [She sounds annoyed.] I have no been finding you in ages. Did you be avoiding me?

[She wrinkled her nose. She hopes not. She can't think of anything she has done that would make him scrunch faced mad at her. Unless he found out about her attacking Edge...]

Where do you be being now?

What? No! Of course not-I mean no more than I've been avoiding everyone else. I just needed some time to uh.. to get through some stuff.

Right now? The dining car. People aren't the only thing I've been mostly neglecting.

I will be coming there. [And the screen goes blank.

But it's not all that much longer that she appears in the dining carriage, a box in her hand.]

I did be saving you a honey cake and some baklava, but if they do be being stale it do no be being my fault.

[She pushed the box over.]

[ As he stated, Peter's in the dining car, there's an empty bowl nearby and he's writing in his notebook. He's been doing that a lot and he might just be on the last page or close to. ]

Oh, really? Thanks, that's so sweet.

[ He smiles as he closes up his notebook. ]

I-I didn't get you anything.

You do no be needing to. [She grinned at him.] If you do be liking them we can be getting fresh ones for next time.

I'm pretty sure I will.

[ He offers a small smile and wonders briefly if it'll taste anything like those honey bun things. Those are awesome and he really should order a box of them. ]

[ still, there's only one way to find out. He reaches into the box with the spoon and takes a piece of the cake. ]

[Even a few days stale it is pretty amazing, for those who love sweet things. It is cake almost in name only, a flaky sponge that really is just there to provide structure for the copious amounts of honey.

She leans forward watching him.]

[ Oh, it's so good. Way, way better than those factory made honey bun things. Where have these been all his life? It'd probably really, really good with like vanilla ice cream or something. ]

Oh my god.

[ He expresses after a moment. ] I'm a little mad I didn't know about this sooner.

You do no be having a god, Peter. [She pointed out, but she grinned at his words, glad he liked them.]

They do be being the best things in the whole world. All the worlds.

[ It takes him a fraction of a second to realise why she said that before it occurs to him. Just long enough for a brief look of confusion to cross his face. ]

Oh. Right, sorry. [ He clears his throat some. ] Oh my non-existent God.

[ He corrects before pausing a brief moment because that was a thing he Gwen used to say there's a sharp pang in his chest. He's able to push it away quickly though-maybe he really is feeling better. ]

I think I'm inclined to agree.

[ He decides, trying to think of something that might comes close to this. ] I mean, cinnamon rolls are pretty good-which is kinda what imagined honey cakes would be but I think this is better.

I do be being sure cinnamon rolls do be being tasty too. [Peter has good taste after all.] And we should be eating them too. But these do be being the best things.

[She is very glad he agrees. And since she only managed to save one for him she will make sure to buy another couple of boxes for next time, so he can have a whole box.

At least you are feeling better, even if only a little bit.

Yeah... but I know how this works and it'll hurt less and less as if I just keep going. So I'm just... gonna keep going.

It's kind of sad that it even has to happen in the first place, or that you even have to say you will get used to it.

I mean it's great that you will keep going, but still sad.

Yeah well, that's life-especially my life. Sometimes I have to wonder what the point is and why I have to keep going but it's not like there's really an alternative-I mean there is but it's out of the question so the only really choice is to move on.

Keep going forward regardless... [It was still a sad way to think of things in her mind, but this came from someone who hadn't felt the loss of losing someone, so it was a whole new thing to try and understand.]

So no matter how hard things are... That's all people can do?

Sometimes. [ He admits, but he also knows he probably has a much more jaded outlook on life than most people. ]

Sometimes that's really all you can do but it's usually the hope that things will get better again that keeps me going.

[She nodded slightly, she was starting to understand at least.]

So hope is a major factor. Got it. But I will try my best to help you keep going should that ever be needed.
