fiddlesticks 25, video from standard coach: open to all
Sooooo, not being able to talk to most of the train that day sucked, huh? I don't know what to think about any of that, but since we can talk to each other now, I was thinking: How about we share where we're from, and see who's from worlds like ours?
And who speaks the same languages too! An actual list be better if that ever happens again, but for now, tell us about the kind of place you're from, what makes home home to you! You got kings or dragons? Machines? Portals to other worlds? Talking sea life? You just trying to get through school?
I'll go first to give you guys an idea, but share whatever you feel like!
( ooc: this is open to all, meaning feel free to put up a post and chat with other characters! )

[She says softly. She pauses, closes her eyes, then-]
No, you aren't wrong. I think I owe you a somewhat lighter tale, then? Hmmm....
There are six principle races who dwell in the land of Hyrule, each with their own rulers and customs. The Hylians, the people of my birth, live mostly in the north and in the central fields of the land.
To the northeast lies the great volcano known as Death Mountain, where the Goron tribe makes its home. The Gorons are a people of rock and stone, able to endure the heat of their home with ease. An intimidating folk, much interested in contests of strength and skill- but they are kinder than they look, and they love to dance.
In the east is Zora's Domain, a cavernous fountain from where most of the water in Hyrule originates. It's people are the Zora, who stand as tall as any man but possess fins, webbed feet, and gills. For many years, they have been close to the Hylian people, and trusted by all other races with the care of the land's rivers and lakes.
To the southeast are the Lost Woods, a winding, maze-like forest from which few travelers return. At the heart of the forest, though, is a fair clearing blessed with the protection of the Great Deku Tree. And it is in that clearing that the Kokiri, the Children of the Forest, live under the protection of their guardian fairies.
In the west, on the border of a great desert, live the Gerudo tribe. A race of warrior women, with only one male born to them every century. A harsh people, for the most part, born out of a harsher land.
[Something in her face suggests there's a lot more which could be said on that subject, but she holds her tongue and moves on.]
The last tribe, and perhaps the oldest, are the Sheikah. A people of long memory, and longer foresight, who have produced many of Hyrule's greatest scholars and sages. A tribe of fierce warriors, whose loyalty when given is absolute. But they are few, the Shadow Folk, and fewer still every day. In a hundred years they may be gone, faded into the Shadows in truth.

[ But it's not all sombre, and there's a small 'oh' as he considers-- ] You wanna hear about the races or people where I'm from? We have a few. I don't know all their histories, but we've got a mountain people too. Ad a few others around.

[She agrees. And often enough a bloody one, though she's dwelt too long on that as things stand..]
And I suppose I'm lucky enough to know more of it than most Hylians. But I don't think it's the only thing which is needed to create a future. Strong hands, a sharp mind, a willing heart... your people will find what they need.
[Nodding]
I would like that very much. Please, tell me more.

Sure! Okay, so...
[ He needs a moment to even think of where to start, especially with how wonderfully Zelda had laid out the lands of Hyrule as she knew them. A small hum creeping up before he speaks. ]
Hmm, if I had to describe Spira's land... I'd say it's small compared to how most places sound, but it's diverse. To the north, you have mountains covered in ice, a great mountain there known as Mt. Gagazet. The Ronso live there, a tribe of people who look close to big cats--fierce, prideful, and with horns on top of their heads. They're all about dealing with their own affairs, [ he says with a knowing humour, ] so you don't wanna bother getting involved when they're having a fight.
Before them though, you have a great big meadow. It's peaceful in a way, but strong fiends wander around, and you won't really find animals there since it's where summoners would go to fight with Sin. Before that is a forest made from water, and a large lake frozen over by the spirit of a fayth nearby.
[ He pauses, and then figures to ask: ] You want me to explain what that is before I go on? I don't think I told you about them.
[ He's sure he only spoke of Zanarkand before. ]
no subject
[Shaking her head] You didn't, no. Is it some type of guardian spirit?
no subject
[ But he may be thinking of a Ronso in particular. Miss you, Kimahri. ]
The fayth were... [ Hmmm. ] They were living spirits. Summoners used to go and pray to them, and they'd be able to get what's called an 'aeon' from them--a summon that's like a big creature! I don't know if the fayth did anything outside that though. Maybe people prayed to them anyway?
But they were there to help with a bigger problem in Spira. Sin.
