Sooooo, not being able to talk to most of the train that day sucked, huh? I don't know what to think about any of that, but since we can talk to each other now, I was thinking: How about we share where we're from, and see who's from worlds like ours?

And who speaks the same languages too! An actual list be better if that ever happens again, but for now, tell us about the kind of place you're from, what makes home home to you! You got kings or dragons? Machines? Portals to other worlds? Talking sea life? You just trying to get through school?

I'll go first to give you guys an idea, but share whatever you feel like!

Yes. Um it's a little complicated I guess because I am from there. But when I was still in my ranka a storm blew me to earth and I was born there. But when I was ten I was found and taken back. That's when I met Lord Gyousou.

Huh, so then... what do you call the other place? Is it a different world? Like a-- realm?

[ Someone used that word to describe connected worlds. He thinks he still gets the idea. ...maybe. ]

It's a different world. But I don't think it has a name... It's just the world. The people on earth don't know it exists so they have no reason to name it and to those from that world... I guess it is just the world. It doesn't need a name.

That makes sense. I never used to think about what the world was called either.

[ Life was just...Zanarkand. But maybe that was on purpose. ]

What was it like though, between the two worlds? Were they really different?

Yes. [He nodded.] Very different. My world only has twelve kingdoms, the gods are chosen by the gods who use kirin to exercise their will. Earth has many countries, cultures and languages and though there are many religions and gods I am not sure how many, if any are real. Many don't believe in any gods at all.

In my world there are beasts that fly, there is a whole sea in the sky called the sea of clouds. It is a real sea, none can get through it unless they use one of the sacred mountains, mountains so huge that they go above the sea of clouds, being on the top of one is like standing on an island in an ocean.

People grow on egg fruits on trees after parents pray to the gods for children. Those who rule become immortal by entering their name into the registry of sages and rulers can only rule as long as they are just, kind and follow the way of heaven.

[He seems to realise how much he has just said and blushes slightly.]

[ Taiki isn't the only one who notices, the length that the other guy speaks captivating Tidus, listening eagerly. Caught off-guard and thinking about the people grow on egg fruits part as it's said and then moved on from, but with all the rest, there's one word for it all.

Magical.

He laughs lightly when Taiki stops, fondly so. ]

You sound devoted to it! And it sounds like you've got a big job too waiting for you back home.

[ With being a kirin, and an adviser for Saku, too. He may not fully understand, but Tidus thinks he feels an awe for the world Taiki comes from. Or maybe, the world he sees as home. ]

You must miss it a lot.

[He just bows his head, a little embarrassed. But also it is true. He does miss it and he worries for it. For Tai anyways. Being here... It was not a good thing. Not for Tai.]

I've spent so little time there, a year when I was a child and another year just before I came here. It's as if... Something keeps me from being there.

[Never being able to do any good, to do the one thing he was meant to.]

[ He frowns, feeling for Taiki. It didn't matter to himself where he was... but he was different from most people. There wasn't anywhere for him, not anymore.

But everyone else--many more else did have somewhere to be. Other than here. Lives and homes to return to. ]

We'll find a way to get you back, [ he assures, determined. ] You and Saku. There has to be a way.

So don't lose hope, okay? There's still a lot we don't know yet. But that doesn't mean we won't find out.

Thank you Tidus. [He smiled, but it was full of sorrow.

After all he already knew the answer. The only way he could think of to save Tai. It was not a solution that would involve him ever seeing it again.]

You know, I was saying to someone they should try asking at the shop for anything new from their world. Something that'd have the news or show how it's doing. Can you think of anything like that in yours?

[He shook his head. Both that he couldn't think of anything but also. He doesn't exactly need something from his world to tell him what dire straits Tai is in. He knows how terrible things were for the people before they came here and Asen's temper would not have cooled when both king and kirin disappeared from under his nose.

It makes him feel sick when he thinks about what had probably happened in that courtyard after they had gone. Risai, Yari. Has anyone escaped alive?]

I'd have to ask Lord Gyousou... I can't think of anything. [He's not going to burden Tidus when Tidus is trying to help.]

[ Tidus nods his head. ]

You should both talk about it. You'd know what your world has. [ Especially if they put their heads together. ]
