two days after the event [video]
[ Kaiba looks tired and frustrated, as usual, but he's loud and clear here. ]
If anyone wants to review the 'rogue void train' message we received immediately before the ICPs crashed, I managed to transcribe a copy. You should all be able to read it now. And I know at least one other person has pictures of the screen if you'd rather read the source directly.
During the chaos, I told a few of you about a myth from my world called the Tower of Babel. As the story goes, once upon a time all the people of the world spoke the same language. They decided to work together on building a tower to the heavens to reach God. God was angered by their arrogance, so he cursed their tongues so that they could no longer understand each other. This stopped the tower project and they scattered across the world.
I'm telling you this because I've been wondering if it's relevant to the situation. Given the timing of the message, the near-immediate disabling of our translator, and the convenient disappearances of a few teammates I knew to be actively investigating, I'm more concerned than I was about what we're in for.

[ He looks up and feels his ears flush. Yugi's taller than him for once. ]
There's so much I haven't said. Or done. It's more important that I give out copies of my notes, obviously, but...
[ At a loss for words, he reaches up and briefly squeezes Yugi's hand. ]

[Which was something he didn't like to admit really. But he soon held the others hand when he needed it, the other arm now back at his side. he figured at least for the moment sitting down was a good option, so he did next to him.]
But... what Seto? [It was a good thing to keep spare notes around at least and he was glad that he was doing that. But he was wondering what he was trying to say as well.]
But on the things you haven't said or done you can always make a list and go through them while you are here... if that helps any?
no subject
Yugi...
[ It takes him a moment to continue. ]
I do have a list. But when it comes to you, it all flies out the window, because I can't put it into words after all. I see you and I feel the need to stay by your side, to fight for it however I can.

[But he at least understood what the other was saying at the moment.]
But you have a point also and in order to keep what we have, it's what we have to do together.

[ He looked over, a strange glint in his eyes. ]
Emotional conversations aren't my strong suit, but I need to give you this, Yugi. I don't want to have any regrets if I suddenly leave---I've had enough of those regrets for a lifetime.
[ He took a slow breath. ]
Your humility's welcoming and all, but you can afford to puff your chest out a little more than you do. Drawing people together and inspiring loyalty is a strength, Yugi, one I would've saved myself a lot of trouble by mastering. You're strong, and I know whatever happens, you'll get through it with that smile still on your face.
I used to think I hated it, but that's what I love about you. You're incredible, Yugi, and I want to make sure you see it.
no subject
Oh, so that is what you love about me, hm? But I do see that about myself...it's just... that's not always going to work on something like the missions.
[He kept a firm grip on the others hand for a moment.]
It's why I need to figure out how else I can contribute to the train... You have managed well enough because you are smart and talented with technology. I am the cheerleader, which I guess is contributing but more in the background. But I also know it's not a bad thing if it happens again. I'll just be your cheerleader.
no subject
But don't you see? You're more than that. I'll teach you anything you want to know about tech, I know you have the brain for it. And you're not a bad shot either, with all that video game practice.
no subject
[You know because technically he shot down and killed people. He understands that he did it to save many more, but it wasn't exactly the most fun thing. But he figured sometimes he might have to brush aside how he feels in order to do something.]
I get sometimes my feelings on how people do certain missions can't always apply... But I guess I'll just have to adapt, or find a way.
no subject
I know. You will adapt...but never lose sight of who you are. It's not a great road to go down, trust me on that.
no subject
I do trust you on that, but you also shown that people can move past it too.
no subject
I never thought I'd feel so much for anyone. I never wanted to. But your dweeb charm finally wore me down.
Could we stay together tonight?
no subject
No one ever really knows how they'll feel. I mean I always thought if I felt this way it would be with someone like Anzu.
[He soon chuckled slightly.]
But instead, it was you. I may have had my as you put it dweeb charm, but you had a charm all your own. Without meaning to of course.
But...if you want to stay together tonight, that will be fine. I assume one of your cabinmates is still sleeping elsewhere?
no subject
I'll take your word for it. And yes, he's always attached to that pink-haired girl.
But if you're worried about him coming back, you're the right size to fit there with me.
[ He was mostly joiking...mostly ]

[Thinking about it, he knew that he had spoken to Kaiba's roommate, so he had just figured out who it was at least. But soon Yugi was glancing away, a slight tinge of red on his cheeks.]
I'm not worried about that...
