Just doing a check - how many of you can make some kind of portable healing item? Like... a potion or stimulant, or, dunno, a cake, or something that'll heal injuries quickly. Missions are getting pretty dangerous, and with it liking to split the teams up so much, I figure it'd be good to start thinking about back-up plans in case a team's healer is taken out of commission or ends up 'visiting the control coach' during mission week.

[ Like her, for example. ]

Just... gimme an idea of what you can make, and what you'd need for it, I guess. Reply to standard coach, or come and talk to me.

[ She reaches towards the screen, then pauses. ] Oh, right. I've finished writing up my notes of the missions so far, so if you want to come and give 'em a look, get an idea of what you'll be doing in the future, that's fine too.

[ Bwip. ]

[ About ten minutes later, she's back: ] Just repeating something Tidus said - it'd be good to know the same for defensive supplies. Stun grenades, nets, deployable barriers. Magic or whatever else that does the same thing.

[ YUNA....................... No, you know what, that's fine. It'll give her an idea of her offensive power, too. ]

Come on over. I'm in the carriage that just looks like a normal train.

( it doesn't take long for yuna to show up and approach lighting, offering a bright smile and wave to the other when she's near. with a soft bow of her head, she reached out for her sphere grid and transformed into her dark mage outfit.

once transformed, she held her staff towards the other and smiled. )

Have you heard of the spell 'slow'? It won't really harm you or anything, but it will make you move slowly. I figured this would be safer than trying 'Berserk'.

i was today years old when i realised ffxiii doesn't have the berserk status effect

[ She doesn't wave back exactly, but she does lift a hand, and offer a quick smile. Close enough. ]

What does Berserk do? [ She's already nodding assent to being Slowed, though, and bracing herself. ] Go ahead.

Well Berserk kind of makes you go crazy, you know? It makes you just want to attack whatever is in front of you without a break. I've actually...haha....fainted from that.

( she hates to admit it, but when she's been striked by it, it isn't pretty.

nonetheless she holds her staff up and casts the spell, causing lighting to slow down significantly in whatever she was doing and will do. )

Alright, give me a moment to transform again.

( reaching for her grid, she held it up and transformed into her white mage outfit. )

oh, she was Slowed. She shifted, blinked, and frowned at the light that swept up Yuna's body, although by the time she'd finished that long list of tasks and managed to open her mouth to ask about it, the other woman was already clad in white robes. ]

( as much as yuna wanted to show off her abilities and look cool at it, she couldn't help but feel bad about putting lighting in such a situation.

no worries though, because as soon as she can, yuna is holding her white mage staff before the other, casting an esuna spell.

after a few moments, lighting should be able to move freely again. )

[ The initial moment after a Slow was always the worst, as reflexes switched gears and her perception brought everything back in-line. Still, it was a sensation she was at least used to, so she murmured a genuine 'Thanks' and shook out her arms before answering. ]

I think... that that's gonna come in handy. Here-- [ She shifted stances, and after a moment's concentration, pulled enough magic to form into an Esuna of her own. The magic bubbled in her hand for a moment, then dissipated with nothing to target. ]

Though, yours felt stronger than that.
