Just doing a check - how many of you can make some kind of portable healing item? Like... a potion or stimulant, or, dunno, a cake, or something that'll heal injuries quickly. Missions are getting pretty dangerous, and with it liking to split the teams up so much, I figure it'd be good to start thinking about back-up plans in case a team's healer is taken out of commission or ends up 'visiting the control coach' during mission week.

[ Like her, for example. ]

Just... gimme an idea of what you can make, and what you'd need for it, I guess. Reply to standard coach, or come and talk to me.

[ She reaches towards the screen, then pauses. ] Oh, right. I've finished writing up my notes of the missions so far, so if you want to come and give 'em a look, get an idea of what you'll be doing in the future, that's fine too.

[ Bwip. ]

[ About ten minutes later, she's back: ] Just repeating something Tidus said - it'd be good to know the same for defensive supplies. Stun grenades, nets, deployable barriers. Magic or whatever else that does the same thing.

[How do normal people answer a question like this? Because the technical answer is yes but it's a lot more complicated than that.]

If I leave, they'll still exist but they'll be inert. [That's the easiest answer that isn't a lie.] Technically, I don't replicate things. I make them.

[ Inert doesn't bode well for things like potions, but maybe for supplies for the team he's with... she notes it down. ]

Not exactly. [There's a pause.] There's a cost to what I do and the cost is sometimes monsters tag along for the ride. The more you want, the more likely I bring something you don't want too.

[ ... okay, that's a cost that's worth knowing sooner rather than later. ]

How big a monster are we talking, here?

They're usually not that big or hard to take care of, just. Messy. [He doesn't have to deal with the Lace, at least.] They only want to attack me, anyway.

[enthunder]

Okay, so maybe save that for special occasions, or... Dunno, get people to bodyguard you when you do it...

[ Wait ] You said you 'bring' them. Can the monsters get to you when we're in the Void, cut off?

It's inherent to what I do.

[That's not yes or no. That's "I don't know, but I haven't pushed it because I'm afraid to find out."]

What I'm saying is if you want like a soda case of potions or a box of stun grenades, I'll be fine. It's just not endless. I don't have that kind of power here.

Guess we just put some fighters around you the first time you do it, and we find out then...
