Just doing a check - how many of you can make some kind of portable healing item? Like... a potion or stimulant, or, dunno, a cake, or something that'll heal injuries quickly. Missions are getting pretty dangerous, and with it liking to split the teams up so much, I figure it'd be good to start thinking about back-up plans in case a team's healer is taken out of commission or ends up 'visiting the control coach' during mission week.

[ Like her, for example. ]

Just... gimme an idea of what you can make, and what you'd need for it, I guess. Reply to standard coach, or come and talk to me.

[ She reaches towards the screen, then pauses. ] Oh, right. I've finished writing up my notes of the missions so far, so if you want to come and give 'em a look, get an idea of what you'll be doing in the future, that's fine too.

[ Bwip. ]

[ About ten minutes later, she's back: ] Just repeating something Tidus said - it'd be good to know the same for defensive supplies. Stun grenades, nets, deployable barriers. Magic or whatever else that does the same thing.

[ He doesn't really know if he's the guy who should, but Lightning's a good candidate for it. But with that said: ]

I'd say, it's best to ask everyone else than just one guy. See what they used to protect themselves! But if there's anything people had in their worlds that could've been used to stun enemies, slow them down, or protect people? Magic, tech, whatever's handy and easy to use--

It's not bad to share about 'em with the train! People need other ways of protecting themselves than weapons.

[ He gives a small halfhearted finger salute. ]

[ And it'll be later, to give Light more time to speak to people undisturbed. But at some point he'll be the figure coming through the standard coach, searching out the sight of Light's pink hair and coming on over. ]

So, things looking good with the potions?

[ He didn't bother to really listen in.... ]

Looks like we've got a guy who can use magic to turn energy drinks into potions, so I threw Nita at him. [ what else... ] Several people are growing plants that'll help, one guy can replicate anything you give him, but if he does it too much he summons monsters...

[ people in here are weird. She brings up a hand for a lazy wave. ]

[ Does it have to be energy drinks? is a question that doesn't get asked when the guy who summons monsters comes up at the end there. ]

Monster summoning? [ Huh? ] How? ...Does it do something to his head?

[ That's the only guess Tidus can think of, though he isn't sure if that makes sense either. ]

Dunno specifically. He said it 'lets them through', or something to that effect, so... Messing with reality probably attracts all kinds of attention.

[ She's adding to her notes, pausing now and then to tap her pen against her other wrist. ]

Hmm... well, if it doesn't hurt the guy, we can bring some people on to deal with the problem when he doubles some potions. Or we can save it for better stuff.

[ There's a small twitch of his eyes. ]

Oh, speaking of-- I put in an order for elixirs or megalixirs. It went through--dunno what I'm going to get, but even if it's a few and we've got that guy? We're gonna be covered on the field.

[ He's grinning, and knows he'll likely need to explain what those are. But let him be pre-smug! ]

[ She inhales sharply, so he gets his reaction! ]

Elixirs- you're kidding. It really went through? [ She'd seen all of two elixirs in her entire journey, after all. ]

[ Sounds like he doesn't need to explain, so his grin simply widens instead. ]

Right? I won't complain if we get one and we can get someone to copy it. But if it gives me anything smaller than an elixir, I won't grumble about that either. [ He shrugs easily, leaning back in his seat. ]

I spoke to your roommate, Dread, Purple lead? He was worried about anything we order disappearing or where to put it. But if we can really get a supply stock going, I think we need to get all the team leads talking to each other and getting involved in this too.

[ She thinks about that for a long moment. Things disappearing? Well, she supposes... ]

Sometimes packages arrive on a platform day without names, probably orders by people who've left that week... So don't think we need to worry about things vanishing if it's still useful. We have an entire storeroom. Two, if you count luggage.

[ Oh? Huh, that was a different idea than the one he got, but that's a good thing. ]

Then it sounds like no problem. Now we've just gotta wait and see what I get. Hopefully it's close to an elixir.

[ And not just bottled water, or something. ]

How many'd you order? It'd be good to test, but if you only get one...

I asked it to give me as many as it'd let me have for the points. Won't know what that is until I see it.

That definitely sounds like more than one, so... good.

[ Satisfied, she looks back at her notes. ] About the utility stuff, Zelda's got a plant, makes seeds that go off like stun grenades. Nita can make forcefields that you can activate with a word. The guy who makes potions, Noct, might be able to pull magic from people like you and me and... bottle it, for later.

How's this sounding?

[ Tidus peeks at the notes from his side, though not with any real effort to it than just a natural nosy-need when Light looks down. Looking impressed should she look up and see, though it comes across even in his tone. ]

Great! [ But, alright, he's really got to ask- ] The last guy can take magic from us and--bottle it for other people?

[ Because that sounds exactly like the kind of help that'd be amazing. ]

It's up in the air whether he can pull from people... [ Managing expectations! ] He said he'd take it from 'sources of magic', but people in his world don't have magic like you or me.

Sounds like a primitive manadrive.

[ She pauses, and then scribbles that word down. ] Think more people could use antigravity?

ok sure yeah primitive manadrive, Tidus totally understands that.

Too bad he can't fool his way into acting like he understands her question though. ]

Uhh... antigravity?

Huh? Oh. Right, you weren't around when I got it. [ She pulls her grav-con unit out of her hoodie pocket. She tends to take it back from the kid between missions for maintenance, after all.

Chucks it to him without much ceremony, too. ]

'Gravity control unit'. They're standard back home in the military.

[ He catches it in hand, blinking and turning his wrist so as to look at it, if just by shape. Neither the sight of it or Light's 'explanation' providing much help. ]

What does it do? [ ...should he be careful how he holds it? He keeps his arm out some, unsure....if he wants to do really examine it too closely. ]
