Hey everyone, how you doin'? I'm Tidus. Been here around since the last stop, and I know there's gonna be another one soon, but I've been itching to ask: What did you do for fun in your worlds?

Back home, the biggest entertainment was Blitzball! Two teams goin' up against each other underwater, giving it all they've got to score the ball in the other team's goal! [ He's grinning, excited even to share that. ] That's a simple way of putting it since I can't start showing everyone how to play, and I wanna hear about your guys' fun.

So? What did you do? It doesn't have to be just sport. Did you have videogames? Arcades? Did you have fighting competitions? Draw? What do you do now? I wanna hear what people are into!

And hey, if you ever want a partner for one of the ball games they have here, hit me up! I wanna try as many as I can. Can't do it on my own though!

Three months, I think? I've lost track. These days, I mostly sew with Dread and Kumoko. And do chores.

Yeah? How do you like it, compared to what you were doing? Being busy all that time, [ he hurries to clarify, ] but now -- you can do whatever you want, right?

I don't mind it, it passes the time. I don't read near as often as I'd like, though.

And no! Of course not! There are still rules that I must live by.

Rules? Like what?

What I can and cannot wear, how my hair should be done, what I can and cannot do.

Huh? Why? What's wrong with wearing or doing your hair as you want? That's kinda excessive, don't you think?

Because there are certain standards that have to be met by all in the House. I will not grow lazy about them, just because some people do not understand.

[blitzcheer]

[ It's a half-understanding: admitting he doesn't understand, but still sounding unsure in the same admittance It's not the first time he's been met with rules he doesn't get. ]

So, you never thought about trying something new? [ Or, rather- ] What's the sort of stuff you can't do?

Is it common, where you’re from?

No? I live in a House with other courtesans. There are several Houses on the planet, but I don't know about elsewhere.

Do all courtesans start so young?

Most courtesans do, though I'll not receive clients until I'm sixteen. But there is a hierarchy amongst people like us.

I'd say I'm surprised to hear that sort of profession is still around, but we are from very different worlds. Is it something that you enjoy?

[sensitiveapple]

Still around?

[ She shrugs. ]

It's what I'm training to be.

The cultures in my world have deemed that profession to be shameful and illegal in many areas. So instead there are whores and prostitutes with no one to truly care about them or encourage them to better themselves.

Has your training so far included self defense with any kinds of blades? It is important to know how to be safe from someone who wants to hurt you, and I would imagine many hair ornaments would be quite sharp.

[He's so offering to teach her knife skills.]

I have knives. My guard at home would work with me everyday with them. I miss Jocko.

Well, I'm not Jocko, but I am working on making some practice knives out of bamboo if you'd like to keep up your skill. I just need a way to glue strips of the bamboo together.

I can try? It wouldn't hurt me. Are you familiar with vibroknives?

Is that a particular sort of metal? It's not one I'm familiar with, from my world. The strongest material I could use from back home would be Gundanium.

They're not, no. It's... I'd have to show you.
