You may have noticed the stacks of IV bags filled with blood in the refrigerator. Those are mine. I suffer from a rather peculiar form of anemia, and I require regular transfusions in order to remain healthy. I need that blood to live. If you tamper with them, I will make you wish for death.

A few years ago, I read this thing online that said a lot of vampire myths stemmed from rare cases of anemia and how people looked if it wasn't taken care of properly.
Or...something along those lines. I can't really remember. What I do know is I kinda fell down a Tumblr hole kinda by accident and ended up learning a lot more about sparkling stalker-vampires than I ever cared to and that's how I found that small bit of trivia.

I've heard that as well. There's probably a great deal of truth behind it. I've even been called a vampire myself, because of my illness.
[Amongst other things.]
It was similar with tuberculosis. People got pale and weak and they didn't have answers as to why, so they blamed vampires and other evil spirits.
[He cocks his head to the side, confused.] Sparkling stalker-vampires...?
