You may have noticed the stacks of IV bags filled with blood in the refrigerator. Those are mine. I suffer from a rather peculiar form of anemia, and I require regular transfusions in order to remain healthy. I need that blood to live. If you tamper with them, I will make you wish for death.

I’m gratified to hear it. I do not believe that anyone has tampered with my f—medical supplies in the short time I’ve been here, but I wanted to avoid any future unpleasantness. Rest assured that the bags themselves are quite sterile and do not leak.

[A container does sound rather convenient. He doesn’t give a damn about freaking people out, but he’d rather not lose his blood supply and have to start hunting amongst the humans. As it is, he’s rationing the blood because he doesn’t know how long it will last.]

[ She'll get right on it. A part of her wants to look in the luggage car, but that whole place reeks of Godmother knows what. Maybe it's best to not bring something smelly into the fridge? There are probably things in the kitchen she can use anyway. ]

Wonderful. And, Joss? I wouldn’t worry about that whole obedient servant thing. I’m sure you were just express gratitude with it, and I appreciate that. But I grew up in a castle full of goblins for servants and I’m good with just having friends.

I kind of guessed, but I also know nothing about your world. For all I know, that’s not just an expression where you’re from.

And the goblins said it all the time. I’m used to hearing it from creatures that mean it. I’m glad you don’t. It’s something of a relief.

My mother had goblins for servants. They were very loyal to her royal highness. Not quite as loyal to me unless she told them to be. Which was often, but they were still mildly irritating. They liked their pranks.
