(OOC Note: I have the full doc uploaded here, for those whose characters would have read it/are trying to hunt it down now they've seen this post.)
[Webmind skips using voice this time.]
For those interested, the book Voidspace: What You Need to Know covers some very important concepts.
First, a quote: "There are currently (as of void date 83.2.134.52.52562.631) three hundred and seventy five thousand void active worlds. Many more worlds are aware of the void but have not achieved void active status and infinite more have no awareness of the void at all."
At least we now have a number to work off of.
And the book confirms that all traveling through the void must be registered with a void travel agency - what does that imply for us?
Second: "Those on void missions will not deal with the Void Travel Companies directly but are still entitled to their advice and help."
It does not say what we must do to contact them while we are ourselves traveling the void, but I assume there has to be a way for such an established organization.
And one other, most salient point from this text, at least to my perspective: "Void sickness is a very rare condition but can be serious. Its precise cause is unknown but is thought to be linked to a problem in entering the void. It can cause memory loss, excessive fatigue, heightened temper and in very serious cases can lead to fatality. If you believe you or any of your party have symptoms please speak to your void tour leader or commanding officer of your void mission."
I am curious what people on this train think - and if you have also read this book since I received it on the first of this month, I would be interested in your perspective.
[Though Webmind fully expects it will come with complaints as well!]
