Video, Action for Sleeper Car 3: Fiddlesticks Day 2, Night
[ Late into the night, far past the point everybody should be asleep, Sleeper Three is rudely awakened by the fire alarms - previously unused and untested - now blaring loudly. They might also hear a girl's scream.
Those stumbling out of their own cabins will shortly find the door to Cabin D popping open, and a flaming pile of fabric being thrown out into the hallway. It's shortly followed by Ifrit, a teenage girl with demonic black stone horns and tail, who proceeds to try and stomp out the fire, to mixed success.
The fire alarm doesn't go out right away, even after Ifrit (or somebody else) extinguishes the fire, as the smoke rises to the top of the car and keeps the alarm going until it can be properly dispersed after a couple minutes. ]
[ It's about a half hour later, well into the dead of night, when a video post gets put up to the network. Ifrit, wearing a purple nightshirt that's sporting a couple small holes with blackened edges now, looks irate and tired as she gazes into the screen. ]
Okay. I guess it's time I asked for...... [ cringe ] ...help.
Does anybody have some fireproof cloth, or clothes? Or blankets. Or like, something they can spray over all the furniture? I'll take anything.
My name's Ifrit, I'm in Sleeper... 3? Cabin D.
And I... [ Her face contorts a bit, as if she just ate something unpleasant. ] ...I'm sorry about. All the fire. There, I said it, okay!? [ She turns the video feed off very quickly following the 'apology.' ]

Action.
Oh god! Shit! That hurts!
[ He whines as he covers his ears. ]
Make it stop!
[ He hears the girl scream though and even though his head is now actually killing him, he scrambles out of bed, gets the door open quickly and stumbles out of 3B. ]
Ma'am are you okay?
[ If it sounds a little like he's about to cry well... he probably is. ]

Shit, shit- no! Does it look like I'm okay!? [ She is upset and a little panicked, and so she doesn't really have the time or attention to notice Peter's own state.
Her power is making fire, not putting out fire, and this gotten too much to handle. ]
no subject
Oh jeez!
[ He lets out when he sees the orange glow of FIRE. ]
Uh...
[ he tries to glance around for something that might help-He grabs his own blanket and tries to snuff out the flames with it. ]

But, ] Oh no! [ NOPE, that blanket is now lighting up...! ]

Action, Sleeper 3 Cabin D, Just Before All This
Of course, sleep isn't always restful.
In her dreams, she sees Silence... or what was once Silence. Her wing charred, covering Saria. Neither of them moving. All around them, fire dancing, the room covered in flames. "Silence! Silence! Saria!"
She awakens with a start, but the fire is still there. The entire room, covered in it. A corpse on the other bunk, blackened.
She closes her eyes. She's used to it. It's not real. Nothing is burning.... nobody is burning. There's no fire--
...No, there is a fire. She can feel it. Her eyes snap open, and the fires around her are fading down. The fake visions, the hallucinations. But one of them isn't.
Her blanket is actually on fire.
The fire alarm goes off at this point, confirming her fears. A real fire. Right on top of her. With a startled yell, she flings it off of herself and onto the floor in between the bunks. She scrambles down off the bunk, then, realizing that in these kinds of cramped spaces, the floor isn't that much better.
She throws her arm to the closest edge of the blanket she can find, ignoring the fire - she's tough, she can handle it - and then opens the door to the hallway just outside the cabin and yeets the blanket.
This is a good way to spend her second night here. ]

Then he's interrupted with a loud wail. He jolts awake, and the air is hot and smoky. Not good. He crawls to the edge of the bed, coughing up a storm. He opens bleary eyes and sees a flaming something sail out from under him.
He stumbles his way to the ground and out, where the blanket is still flaming. He looks wildly around, at Ifrit and the others. ]
We can't set the whole train on fire! Water, now!
[ And he's off stumbling in the direction of the greenhouse, still coughing. ]
no subject
She dashes after him. He might need the help. The fire's... well, if it goes anywhere, there's not much she can do about it.
They've only got to get through four sleeper cars and then the cinema car. It'll work out. Probably? ]
no subject
He's just...gonna collapse at the end of the car. The train can yeet him back to bed later. He doesn't care. He'll weakly call out to the others so they know he's still alive. ]

It would be an immaculate escape, if she hadn't singed her finger reaching instinctively for a rifle that isn't there anymore.
She hisses and curses as she stumbles into the hallway.]

She at least aims it away from Cassie. She's not trying to kill her roommate. ]

She grits her teeth as she sprays the blanket and stamps the embers beneath her feet.]

I can implement a spell for that, sure; someone else might have those materials already, though.
... You okay?
[Ifrit doesn't sound okay.]
I can help with clothing repairs, too, if you want.

She's still in the same fire-holed shirt when she answers. ]
I'm fine, it's fine. Nobody got hurt and we only lost a couple blankets, no big deal, right?
I've never heard of fire-proofing Arts. They'd have to be pretty strong though, my fires burn through most anti-Arts shields. [ Which is great when you're trying to burn enemy casters, but not so great for this. ]

I can come over and we can do a test run in the bathroom or something?
[Because having a source of water nearby anyway is probably a good idea.]
no subject
Yeah, we can try that. Maybe test it out on a towel or something?
[Video]->[Action?] ... Should this turn into a group-magic thread, or just keep it to these two?

...And, listen: so long as nobody got hurt, a lil' bit of accidental arson never harmed anyone. Okay? No need to be embarrassed about it.

Anyway, they make my stuff special out of all fireproof materials back home, I just don't have any of that here. But if you're saying you've got cool fireproofing Arts then yes I need some.
no subject
Well, so far I've managed to avoid setting the sleeves of this new "hoodie" on fire, so by my measurements my charms are holding up pretty well. I can come by in the morning, or I can be there right now if you think you might be at risk of another blaze before the night's up.

Why would those even NEED to be fireproof? [ The skepticism is practically dripping off of Ifrit's voice. ]

I think we all arrived with the same things right? If that's the case then if you don't have anything fireproof would anyone else?

[She had been busy with other stuff really.]
And have any of those who actually have brought stuff actually brought anything that was fireproof? Because I get the feeling no one would have thought to get anything if fires haven't been a thing before now. At least now people can consider it for next time.
