[ Video ] Fiddlesticks Day Two (Fight Club)
[Today 47 was wearing his signature suit as he stood nearly at attention before the Information and Communication Point in the Gym Carriage.]
Your attention, please, for a brief announcement.
My name is Tobias Rieper. You may see me in the greenhouse or gym frequently. The latter of which is the topic for discussion today.
As many of you already know, the gym is often host to a myriad of passengers intent on practicing athletic and combat skill sets. What you may not be aware of is the fact that many of these individuals are offering to teach said skills to other passengers. Anyone looking to brush up on their combative abilities or learn new skill sets is welcome to join us in the gym.
I highly recommend if you do not have any combat experience to at least find someone here to teach you basic self defense as the missions we participate in can be rough on those without any experience in the area. We may not be able to entirely simulate the hectic nature of a true emergency but we can provide helpful tips and skills to remain calm and stay beneficially active during one.
If you need any help finding a teacher or a free sparring partner you can talk to me. There are a plethora of skills to chose from including hand-to-hand combat, melee weapons combat, archery, firearms, and some highly specialized abilities from specific world archetypes that can be taught to others. These may or may not include magic. I can offer a recommended routine of daily exercises for regular physical fitness as well.
Additionally, if you ever need the gym for any sports related activities when it appears to be overrun contact me. I can help remove the practice gear and clear out all the fighters.
[They (still) need a bigger train. An additional gym for sparring would be fantastic. Get on that, Voidtrecker Express.]
Thank you for your time.
[47 ends the feed with a polite nod. Replies will also come from the Gym Carriage. There is an ooc post for this and the ic mingle log is up as well!]

I know I've only just arrived, but I can train others, if you are still accepting instructors.

I will add you to my list. [It's all mental but he has a great memory.]

Thank you. If anyone comes looking for lessons in such abilities, I know who to send them to.

If it's all the same, would it be possible for me to come by, see what the training quarters have to offer?

Then I will be to you shortly. If we are brought to task as I've been made to believe, it is necessary to see the others properly trained.

[Dry-voiced, but not any more or less sarcastic than that.]
Not sure if we've met. I'm Raven, on Purple team, and helping out Blue team on Ignis' behalf. More importantly, I'm a healer. I worked with a super-hero team back home, and while I personally am a pacifist, I do know self-defense.
[Which means she's used to these kinds of routines.]
If you need a dedicated healer during any of these activities, I'm willing to be on call.

[Tone matched to eerie perfection.]
A formal introduction never hurts. Nice to meet you.
A dedicated healer on hand would be a good addition to the sessions. Lightning seems capable of some sort of magic that helps with injuries but I know she would appreciate someone else to be in charge of injured parties.
Re: [ Video ]
I don't know if you were here during the flu, but I was one of the lead healers on that. Lightning and I have worked well together. I've been keeping a very low profile lately as the train has expanded. I worked with an alien, a shape-shifter, a cyborg, and a peak-human performance human back home. I've also helped with other various powered individuals before.
[ Video ]
Good experience. Especially for here. Your help is appreciated.
If you ever wish to spar or teach as well, let me know.

[Now that it has occurred to him, that's probably also a good idea.]

[Was that a joke? That might have been a small joke.]

[Le gasp! He got the reference! ...Sadly, he's still completely and utterly deadpan when replying.]
Besides, if no one ever talked about it, no one would have ever shown up for it.

You've seen Fight Club?
Oh, I think it was like... you had to bring a friend with you to meetings and then they brought a friend. It explained it in the movie but it's been a while since I've seen it.
no subject
I've heard of it.
[He may have read the novel at some point as well but that was some time ago. Hey, it got boring waiting for a new assignment sometimes. What's a bored hitman to do?]
This way is quicker.

I remember how I was taught and I can do the same for others. I mainly work with knives, but I can also teach how to use bows and guns. I also know barehand combat. I have about a decade of experience at all that. I shall see about tailoring my teaching to focusing on survival as much of what I was taught focused on killing.
Not all of what I know can be taught here as some of it relies on certain divine gifts, but there is enough that can be taught to anyone.
[ Video ]
The art of the combat itself should suffice especially for beginners.
How are you with children?

[It's a mental list but he's got a great memory.]

Yes. It's obvious she has previous training that was incomplete due to being brought here.

[ Calling herself a child still doesn't feel right, but it's not untrue. ]

[Even if he has to do it himself.]

[Look, he was taught by a bunch of hardy adults that didn't hold back, he's not going to say it shouldn't be a thing. What would be the point? How else would they learn how to take on an adult twice or three times their size if not by practicing on one?]

[ She's already killed people. There's no protecting her innocence. ]

[Welcome to the family of child soldiers.]

[ It's not like she's interrogating them, but by eleven a lot of them have started learning to fight at least a little, right? ]
no subject
Certainly. Those from normal backgrounds wouldn't understand those that did not have one. Perhaps vice versa.
no subject
Still making a life of it, bit by bit, though.

I have experience training all levels of fighters. I have some hand-to-hand skill, but my speciality is bladed weapons and bows.
Yes, I can also teach children.
[He had to think about it for a while. He's not willing to spar with the less experienced fighters, but he will train them.]
no subject
That seems to be a recurrent theme. [Elves equaled swords and bows, clearly. He should have stolen more bows and arrows from that last world.]
Good. There are a few. I'll speak to Tony and see if he can convince any of the children to take lessons from adults other than himself.
no subject
[Now he shrugs] It's worked for us. I'm growing some bamboo to make practice swords, if it helps.
no subject
It always helps to have more to work with.

I can teach or spar with just about anybody who's at or modestly above human-level, elite or otherwise. I can go from basic practical self-defense for the completely untrained all the way up to...shit, I dunno, Olympic level.
Can't teach them everything I can do, but most of the shit that matters I can, if they've got the patience or discipline.
no subject
There are plenty of people to spar with that can accommodate. If you show up, I can introduce you. [And spar with Cassie himself. She would be a good partner for him at that level.]
