Hey everyone! [ooc- Japanese people will here 'yaa']

I'm Heiji Hattori and I'm a new passenger, so I might not have met you just yet. I've found a sturdy pipe and a couple balls in the gym that we could use if we want to put together a couple teams for baseball.

We could play something else too, especially if we can't find enough to make teams. What do you want to do?

Well, I think we have established that poker with only us three is... er. Perhaps not a good idea. I suppose football might work? Or basketball, if we could find something appropriate - neither of those require full teams.

Well neither does..

Okay fine. I see a soccer ball. Get in here so we can play! I have too much energy from being cooped up in this place.

True - I'm just thinking we'll need more than one game, eventually! And maybe we should set more uh. Stringent rules the next time we play poker.

Or maybe we should play UNO instead.

[ A laugh ] Coming, coming.

Like you can't cheat? I saw that card you pulled from your sock.

Like you and Edogawa weren't counting the cards! [ he retorts with a laugh ] I argue self-defense!

[ knock knock, and he leans on the door frame ]

What did you find?

It's not my fault I know how to count!

[He laughs.

It wasn't long before Kaito was in the doorway of the gym. Heiji flashes him a bright smile and kicks a soccer ball at him.]

Yeah well, if I'm playing against cardsharks, I reserve the right to keep a few up my sleeves!

[ He grins back and taps the ball back ]

How much gear for baseball is there? I'll admit, I've never played much - only attended one game. [ as KID, natch ]

[Heiji shakes his head before pointing over at a piece of pipe about 2-3 feet long leaning up against a wall.]

That's the best I could find for a bat and there are plenty of balls that would work. We don't have gloves or bases, but I thought we could just pick a spot on the floor to act as a base.

[He sighs.]

We needed more equipment in here.

"Mark it with something." He suggests in turn. "Not like we have a lot of place to move around in either."

[deductionrival]

"True, it's not the size of a real baseball field, but it's about the size of my high school's gym." He pauses, looking at the height and width. "Well, maybe a bit narrower. Either way, I think if we use a softer ball we can catch without gloves."

He kicks at the soccer ball. "It might just be easier to play this instead, as much as I hate giving up on it."

"There's always cricket." He shrugs. "But I reckon we can make do well enough? It won't be proper baseball but...close enough?"

"Think we can find enough people to play? Gwen said she would be interested. I've seen her around with her boyfriend, Peter. I haven't had a chance to meet him properly yet. Luke in our room might be willing to play, but that makes only five." He thought for a moment. "Manabu might join in, that would be six. Know anyone else?"

"We can try. I haven't spoke to Gwen, but Peter seems cool - we played notMarioKart together the other day."

He considers. "There's the other guy who likes parkour. Harry? I haven't spoken to him much, but he seems as bored as we are. And there's another couple of girls we could ask too - Madoka and Evie."

[deductionrival]

"We're back to an odd number then of nine. I bet Curufin would be willing to join us, that would make ten. No, twelve! Joss and Romeo, although they're like Conan and really small. That's six on each team which is plenty! Now we just need to go convince people to come play with us." He frowns, thinking of their strategy. "I feel like we're forgetting someone."

"Mph. Well... we might not all be around every time, right? So even if the numbers are not quite even, it'll be ok. Someone can be the referee, if we have odd numbers."

He considers. "Hm. Well, the spider can't play. We could ask some of the grownups... I can't think of anyone else on top of my head..."

[deductionrival]

"We don't actually know if the spider can play or not? She does have lots of legs to kick with or hit a bat with!" He laughs, finding the mental image funny. At first the spider had creeped him out but she turned out to be harmless.

"I think there was also a blonde haired girl who was younger, but I don't remember her name." He doesn't remember because he likely never knew it in the first place. Either way, he was satisfied with the teams they'd come up with. "Alright, well want to play soccer for a while between the two of us and then try getting teams together for something more serious later?"

"Point... she could be a team on her own!"

He frowns thoughtfully. "Hm. I don't think I've met her... I'm normally pretty good with names and faces, but I don't normally have this many to remember all at once."

Still, Hattori seems inclined to let it lie - they can check again after.

"Sure!"
