Video; Day 1 of Fiddlesticks

[Allen was looking off to the side for a moment, to Timcampy hovering close by, mouth open briefly. Allen was clearly not that amused for a moment before he speaks.]

Will you just go on my head for the moment, please? Then we can get something to eat, but I need to do this.

[With that being said the golden golem very happily goes to rest on the others head and instead of just settling in just starts to nibble at the other's hair for the moment. Allen sighed, content with that for the
time being before speaking.]

So... This... might seem like an odd thing to want to talk about but before I arrived here I've had times when I have lost any powers I have and I guess this leads me to worry about the possibility of it happening here and not having something to replace what I lost.

[He tilted his head back, the golem still managing to stay put at the time as Allen was clearly uncomfortable with what he was about to say.]

I am asking because I have a very serious issue that could kill me should something like that happen. I was once very lucky that I was turned into a zombie, but I worry that next time I won't be as lucky. [He sighed once again looking straight at the device.]

So I am asking if there is anyone who can do something that could help fix a... hole in the heart?

[As he asked Tim was once again flying off his head and toward the others ear going to bite it.]

Ouch! Okay, okay. I am moving. [With that he finally ends the feed.]

[Allen was already aware that well something like this was shocking as well as thinking he was probably dumb about it. he wasn't expecting this.]

Uh... How do I expect this... There was once an incident I was involved in and because of that I ended up with my innocence and arm destroyed and left for dead with the hole. My innocence saved me and it blocked the hole up.

[Was that really the best way to explain this?]

[Possibly not. Dairine at least has some context for his arm. Hard to forget that when he'd be spider-maning around the castle with its ribbon powers. But most of the innocence talk goes over her head.]

Okaaay... So innocence is the source of your powers, and you're worried that we'll lose our powers for one of these missions leaving you in an immediate health crisis?

Basically, yes. Considering that is what is preventing me from actually dying.

[It's happened before, he worries it will again and the fact he doesn't have a whole lot of trust with the train right now doesn't help.]

[Suddenly it occurs to Dairine that her thoughtful sound might come off as insensitive, given the severity of the topic.]

Sorry if it seems like I'm prying. It's just... this might sound odd but maybe not to you— [Since she knows that he visited another place like this] —but I've seen you before this train.

In a castle. A magical castle. There were loads of instances where residents' powers suddenly vanished, and you certainly didn't keel over then.

[Though who knows? Perhaps he had died before she got there. The graveyard had been too big for her to remember all the names...]

It's not prying since I'm being open about it.

[Though he did find himself a little baffled. he had been to other places that weren't just the ones he remembered. He should be surprised, but he wasn't for whatever reason.]

If... that's actually the case, I wonder if that means I still have the issue or not after all... Without a medical check, I actually have no way of knowing anyway... Or that me got seen to...

I guess... but you were asking for solutions, not more questions. So I feel it still counts.

[Not that it's that uncommon for her to stick her nose in other people's business, being a little sister, but it feels less weird when you know them better. Or they know you.]

It's possible? You were there before I arrived, but I never heard of you dying. So you might have thought of it in advance and found a healer... Or maybe the castle's influence was keeping you alive during those times?

...That wouldn't work in the Dead Zone though. [Had Allen gone on expeditions? He probably went on expeditions.]

Sometimes I guess thinking of solutions helps with more information.

[This was still something he really was not used to even after being away from home for pretty much nearly two years at this point.]

Both of those are also possible. I guess it isn't something |I will ever find out though and no way of knowing if the train would want to help me... Through I just don't trust it after what it idd.

It's a shame. I'm guessing you're not from Paradisa, or at the very least have no memories of it.

[She has gotten somewhat used to this whole 'castle took everyone's memories but me' thing. It still sucks though.]

Yeah... On one hand, the train doesn't seem so... manipulative as Cair Paradisa was. But I can't say I trust it either.

You mean that last mission? Or the general kidnapping thing?

No. I came from two completely different places.

[The first of which he would spend forever explaining because of the number of places as the whole thing didn't have a name for itself together.]

Last mission, yeah... I mean the kidnapping thing by now has become oddly normal for me and unsurprising.

Huh. What were they like?

[Typical Dairine, curious to learn new things.]

Yeah, that was messed up! And... unsettling. [That's probably the right word for it.] From what I've heard, I don't think the train's ever forced us to retreat before.

It depends on the world. They were all different and a lot of them.

[Never forced them before. So it was just that one time... Now he really wanted to know why.]

Do you think it will be the last time, or are you like me and think it might happen again?

Does that mean you traveled a lot there?

[Dairine goes quiet for a good minute.]

I think it'll depend on if we run into that storm again. You know what I mean?

In one place, yes. [Esepcially when avoiding friends that one time.] When I arrived to new place though, the amount of travel was limited to other cities.

[She nodded slightly.]

I think I know what you mean, but it still brings the question of why it was so scary it caused the train to leave?

Any similarities you've noticed to our current situation?

It might be a good idea to compare notes, see what we can learn about these places.

[Dairine thinks.]

Well... it certainly gave off a vibe. [Silent dread might be more apt.] But maybe it was less that. Maybe the train knew what it was?

Similarities? Not a lot honestly. We could live on the worlds we had access to instead of always being on the train until missions.

[He paused for a moment before nodding.]

Considering the reaction, I wouldn't be surprised.

Oh! So it was more like a hub of worlds. Were they connected by a world gate?

[That sounds so much better to Dairine.]

It was rather drastic. But also if the train has been traveling around this... space for a while, surely it's picked up more knowledge than it lets on.

[he nodded slightly.]

Maybe, but it's keeping quiet about it.

Those'd be space vessels, yeah?

[Then, a bit bitterly.]

Of course it is. Can't go sharing useful information to the passengers. That'd be too easy.

That is correct, yes.

[he sighed slightly.]

Yet it could be something we could have worked with as well to help.

Sweet. It'd be so much better if we could travel freely!

[Give her some choice in their transit!]

We'll just have to show the train we are capable and worth trusting with that, I guess.

I guess. But, do you really think if we do enough it would actually trust us or just keep doing the same thing over and over.

[Dairine absolutely isn't sure what the train would do. Unlike the castle, which was chaotic in a more predictable way, the train wasn't outright messing with their lives... or at least not obviously. Still...]

Only one way to find out.
