Video - A few hours after new arrivals, Garden Car, Fiddlesticks 1

[The first thing that shows up on the screen is something very, Very Neon Green before it's pulled away to reveal... something cartoonish if it wasn't for the shine and fact it's real, if not creepily unexpressive. It's also smaller than Princess. Also still Neon Green as it floats next to a grinning, orange clad Eva, who has a smallish red bird settled on her shoulder.]

Hey sorry for not greeting any of you on the platform, but I was kinda distracted some new pokemon.

[That and her phone (mostly her phone), but details.]

Anyway, I figured this is the fastest way to let you all know that starting tomorrow sometime, if you need to move Princess or deal with him, Kuroba-kun's looking after him for the next seven-day.

[Her grin is a fully-fledged one of pure mischief as she ends the feed.]

Probably the Train's doing and that sounds like something that should go on the welcome leaflets.

[Along with a bunch of other things, but Eva can fix that up at later date.]

That, or widen the train. I'd take both at this point. All the distractions in the world can't hide it's a train. A very long one, but still a train.

'Can alter the state of disease progression' is a pretty big deal, yeah.

[Nita holds out a hand - not anything to do with what she's talking about, but as an encouraging gesture for Dancer.

Though Lele's welcome to take her up on it, too.]

And honestly, same. Though for all we know, there's body-image issues tied to altering its dimensions like that.

[She has no idea what cultural norms the train operates under, aside from the whole 'voidtrecking is important' thing.]

[Dancer ignores the hand in favour of settling back down into a nap. Sorry Nita, sleep is More Important Than New Humans. Lele doesn't seem to notice the hand, either, though given how stiff and unanimated the porygon2 is, it's hard to tell.]

I'll add that when I get the next chance.

[She sighs.]

That or it can't alter its width for longer than a day or two. The snowday was pretty much a field. In a Train.

[Nita drops the hand back to her side, bemused.

Though the elaboration on the 'snow day' piques her interest.]

Seriously? That does sound neat, though.

Wonder why it didn't let you out on the planet...

It was, and I don't know. All I know is that it was a great distraction.

[There's probably some great speculation to be had here, about what the train considers 'protocol' and what it considers 'bending the rules for the sake of passengers', but Nita can gauge that's not what Eva wants to talk about today.]

... We could make our own snow. Think we've got enough magic-users and water around here for that.

[[She would if it was brought up, but it' also so not on her mind.]

We could try, at least. It'd be nice...

[She's more than a little wistful in all honestly.]

Maybe we'll make that next month's party theme, or something.

[Because, at least this month, there's apparently a cinema. That's going to be a distraction...]

Next month for sure. This month is going to feel weird anyway if it's spring...

[It's creeping up to winter back home and her birthday's coming up.]

[Nita snorts.]

It was almost summer for me when I got here. Nautilus kept better track of the seasons than the Voidtrecker Express is, and he dumped feet of snow on everyone!

Every winter, and sometimes in early spring.

[Mirroring reality, a little.]

I'd say that sounds like fun, but it's not. I know that now.

[Eva grins a little.] Where I grew up it didn't snow, but it did get cold enough in the middle of it that groups of us'd make 'porting trips up to the nearby mountains for snowy weekends.

[Nita just nods, suppressing a smirk.]

So you went skiing? Or something else.

Skiing, snowball fights, snow camping. That kind of thing. I think some of the adults kept returning to try and catch pokemon, but if they succeded, we never heard about it.

[Meaning, they likely never did catch the pokemon they wanted.]

[Nita snorts.]

Hardly a better place to hide than in a snow drift. Especially if you can just trigger one yourself.

True that, though as a young kid, it was mightly unfair the adults wouldn't let us play near them. But then you grow up and you understand that those same snowdrifts are dangerous for far too many reasons that you could have done without knowing.

[Nita just nods.]

And if you ever end up seeing the casualties firsthand... it'll cram the lessons in faster than your parents could, just not in a way anyone wants to experience, let alone should have to.

[A pause.]

Anything else you had planned for doing in the Greenhouse today?

[Another subject change seems to be in order.]

In a world ruled by monsters, it's not if, but when.

[And that's all she's saying on that subject.]

Not really, just reacquainting myself with them and making sure Lele's functional and hooked into the 'dex and Roro, which it is.

[More or less, anyway.]

[For Nita, it's almost the same - though replace 'ruled by monsters' with 'where entropy's running', more or less.

She accepts Eva's statement as it is.]

Is it... having adaptability issues? Being here and all?

[It's not her own experience she's relating it to, here, but the peridexis' - granted, given this is the second time it's tagged along with Nita, the disorientation isn't as strong, but it's there.]

Being 'functional' isn't always the same as adapting well, I know.

It's an AI I had it custom-built in Alola to help run the Battle Tree's security systems. Most of it is - was- dedicated to that, but because it's here now, it's been gutted of near everything.

[Including the most important part: the Glow Sticks.

A sigh even as she pokes it with a frown.] I spent good money on it, got called more money than brains, and now it's back to factory settings before I gave the commands to hook into the systems. At least it can hook into my 'dex and phone, so that's good enough.

[Nita looks disturbed, though the look moderates into just worried once Eva explains.]

So, like a memory rewrite? Dairine might want a look at that if she hears...

[For better or worse. It's a wonder nothing like that happened to Spot, really.]

Thankfully, no. It's just been cut off for what it was designed for. It can function and that's the main thing. If it's been mem-wiped, I'd have 'balled it and call it a day because the mem-wipe would render it useless and back to literal factory settings before it was customed to my specs.

[A huff.] They even gutted it of the glowsticks! They were glittery neon green! and awesome!

[Thoroughly more money than brains.]

[Well, that's... not as bad as it could be.]

Think the train could use a porygon? Something to help hold it accountable if it requires maintenance?

[Then Eva mentions the glowsticks, and Nita just looks confused.]

... Uh, did they have a combat application?

Though they do just sound neat.

If it's not connecting, then I doubt it.

[Still it could be worth something to think about.

That said, have a peal of laughter.]

Lele isn't a fighter. I set it at lv 60 with a bunch of attacks, yes, but it has no combat experience. It just runs the security systems; it isn't actually a part of them.

[But it could probably fight if she had no other choice.]

[Nita ends up smiling, bemused.]

Maybe it's like that train, and that's why it doesn't fight either?

[Just attempting to guess the mindset of the void ministry, don't mind her...!]

What, you think it could be a non-combat AI? Hopefully, one shackled and chained-!

[She does abso-fucking-lutely NOT want to be an AI driven Train if said AI is not shackled and chained!]
