Bassoon Day 1- Evening, video

[ooc- Tony's image appears on the ICPs, in the background they can see the dining car where he's been hanging out in. He has a warm, business-like demeanor in his posture and tone.]

Good evening, passengers, I hope everyone is acclimating to the train and the new group who boarded earlier. For those I didn't get a chance to meet, my name is Tony Stark and I came on board approximately a month ago with the first group of passengers. I have a couple requests that I hope you'll afford me.

[New Arrivals]

For those who are new to the Voidtrecker, I am someone you can come to if you're needing some assistance or have questions. I don't know everything you're bound to be wanting to know about this place, but I'll tell you whatever I do know.

In turn, I'm requesting you fill out a questionnaire about who you are and your world. My goal is to determine any patterns among those who have been brought here as well as be alert to any medical needs you may have. These questionnaires are confidental and I won't share with anyone else.

For those who are not new to the Voidtrecker, we need to talk. As this train is getting more people, it might be wise that we find a way to keep order amongst ourselves. I'd like us to consider electing a council of either five or seven individuals who we would like representing us. I'll create a ballot and suggestions but we'll keep this democratic.

In addition, I've added two additional questions to my questionnaire . Please, add this to your original responses.

Nope. Even if I do for everyone else, I'm going to keep yours a paper copy. You know my goal in life is to make you miserable, after all.

no he's not. he's going to see the video and just go do as he's told instead! he'll poke his head into the car, drumming his fingers along the door frame before stepping in.]

[It may look otherwise, but this was very carefully set up to avoid any accidental injuries.

But..

When Manabu steps into the luggage car, a particularly ugly suitcase that had been place in the middle of the floor is abruptly blasted from a laser gun.

Tony stands off to the side, somewhere not immediately apparent where he is holding Manabu's father's gun.]

GAH-!!

[the last thing Manabu expected upon entering is getting shot at, and he instinctively leaps back, slamming himself against the closed door, eyes big and searching for the target source.

he gawks owlishly over at Tony -- and the gun -- slack-jawed for a beat.]

T-Tony-?!

[runs_on_batteries]

[He steps out and flashes Manabu a grin. He blows on the end of the gun barrel, even though there isn't really any smoke coming off of it.]

What do you think? Would it make your dad proud?

[siriusly]

[he lets out his breath, peeling himself off the door with a couple of heavy steps as he swallows his heart back down his throat.]

You, you scared me half to death, man! I almost thought it was another surprise like-- [hold that thought. his eyes fix back on the gun, needing this delayed double take to process.

his eyebrows shoot up.]

You...you did it! It works?!

[afterburner]

GOD FINE I swear every time I think you're done with your questions...

and do I have to cast this ballot, Mr. Stark? I mean like you give a rat's rumpus about what I think anyway??

[Yeah, yeah, Renee's gonna go fill the questionnaire out at least, but if he thinks she's not gonna bitch about it, Tony's got another thing coming.]

I filled it out the first time he adds more questions. Now I gotta walk all the way back to his lab to find my original questionnaire just to answer one new question. UGH.

[afterburner]

Don't you guys come from the same place anyway? Didn't you guys show up at the same time? Why do you gotta answer him then if he already knows??

[He is going to ignore Peter after that.]

I know you're just being a bratty teenager, but I actually do care what you think, Renee. You're smart and deserve to have as much say around here as anyone else.

Uh. I know I troll you a lot. Are you trolling me now, Tony? I mean not like I don't deserve it, but...

[there's a mental record screech for you. Say what?]

I mean, that’s exactly what I said?? He said something like I have to do it because I’m his intern.

[ He’s paraphrasing. ]

Oh yeah. I get it. You're his intern, you gotta put on a good show for the rest of us, now jump through this hoop, Pete, there's a good boy.

[The sarcasm, she's oozing it.]

Huh. Suppose I can do that! Any patterns so far? [ He's just going to... lie on that questionnaire a bit in case Conan is reading it ]

No, unfortunately not really. There's a number of us who appear to have been heroes in our own universe or influential in a positive way. However, there's not enough consistency to say that is a factor yet.

Well I can't say that I can help you much there - I want to be a magician and make it big sure, but I'm a long way from earning a living with it.

[ Hahahaha.... just... not going to say anything about that Thief bit... ]

A magician, huh? What inspired you to pursue that?

[ He always loves talking about his dad and magic, so he brightens right up ]

My old man was a magician too - world famous, even, although he mostly only toured in Japan when I was growing up. I imagine he had to put aside a lot of his international touring. He used to teach me stuff and let me be his assistant a few times! He died when I was nine, but I wanna live up to his legacy, you know? One day, I'll be even more famous than he was.

[ Luke's a little hesitant to respond to any questionnaires, given to the response to him so far, so he has to ask. ]

Are these questionnaires publicly posted, or is this information only you are cataloging?

Absolutely not. They're just for my eyes only. If it were possible to get the information without requesting such private answers, I would but unfortunately I have no AI system to do this for me. But I give my word, I'll be discreet.
