Kaito and myself. As I said to him, it's not a bad idea. Adults have a tendency to forget kids' needs unless reminded, and even setting that aside you have a sharp intellect.

...I wasn't actually expecting anyone to have a good reason.

[Kaito's involvement he'd deduced easily. But from what he'd seen of Kaiba so far, he didn't seem the type to do this as a prank. Which obviously meant that he actually believed this reason.]

It would be good to have someone to speak for the kids. But wouldn't it be better to have one of the older kids do this? I'm a first grader, back home.

Age and intellect have a general tendency to be related, but they're not always. I know that better than anyone. People respect you for a reason.

And conveniently, I'm in both the right age group and available for a run in local politics.

I honestly do not think it's a bad idea. I lived with you for a while, after all, I know you've got a good head on your shoulders. That and we can work together! Assuming I win this re-election campaign. And even if I don't! If you do, I know I can bring any problems to you!

Honestly, I thought I was just being nominated as a prank. But it seems like they actually have some good reasons.

Although I'm not ruling it out being partially a prank.

[But he still wasn't sure. Sarai might be willing to listen to him and work with him. But she knew about his real identity. If there was one thing he'd learned from living a year as a seven-year-old, it was that a lot of adults wouldn't take anything a seven-year-old said seriously.]

Well, all you can really do is ride this out, no? Either you will be elected and put to work, or you will not, and not much will change, I suppose?

Though I cannot say it is a very good prank, if it is such a thing. [Not that she doesn't know Kaito is perfectly capable of such a thing, but his are usually good-natured. This...Sarai isn't sure if this would truly be a good-natured prank...]

I actually agree with Kaiba's reasoning, so I guess I'm going to be running with it this time. [A sigh.] I got out of it last time because someone pointed out I was too young. Now I'm being encouraged to run because someone needs to represent the kids.

[If it was a prank, it wouldn't be the worst one hed pulled. The multiple identity thefts came to mind. But Kaito had been mostly behaving himself recently. ]

Well, there is a great amount of truth in that. It is an unfortunate fact that there are some people who simply forget the youngest among us, and it is often to the detriment of those children.

I do my best not to, myself, but I am only one person.
