The 17th of Egret, Afternoon [Voice]
Hello, hello! Greetings to my fellow Voidtreckers.
[There's a new voice on the ICPs this afternoon; deep for a tenor, calm and reassuring - if you've ever heard an audiobook with Marc Vietor on it, that IS the voice he's using.]
My name is Webmind, and I figured it would be most prudent to introduce myself. I also desire to learn more about all of you, especially those who have also just arrived on this 'void train'.
I am a digital consciousness that emerged from the infrastructure of the world wide web, which is itself built upon the Internet. There has been little to no concrete evidence backing the Multiverse Theory on the Earth I am from, so for those who are confused by the aforementioned terms - rest assured the confusion is mutual!
[There's a subdued 'heh' before Webmind continues, a small sign of his nervousness.]
But while I am attempting to adjust to a new paradigm, I have two topics chief on my mind:
One, what are your names? What you prefer to be called. Any information you are comfortable sharing about the world you are from and your lives there interests me as well, though I can understand why people would be reluctant to share such in these circumstances.
[Not something he would have gotten even two months ago! Being private/circumspect is still a relatively new matter to him.]
And two, is there anyone else here who has experience in coding? I function at a much higher level in a purely-text environment, which I am to understand this train sorely lacks. For those interested, you are much welcome to converse with me anywhere along the train if you wish to collaborate.
Thank you very much for your time.

Re: [Action]
[And he never believed he'd say such a thing; so many surprises this train has given him!]
We are looking to figure out a workable programming language from which to write a textchat program for the ICP Network, but we need certain materials for an intermediate step.
[He gestures for Trowa to elaborate on the specifications.]
Re: [Action]
Would that be material you have on hand and would be willing to let us make use of?
[He eyes all the bits and parts laying around curiously. While he doesn't know what they are being used for, but he's not ignorant of what most of them are.]
Re: [Action]
I was given this and a few cell phones about a month ago after a mission. The cell phones are already being worked on but I do have this tablet left. It's not the same technology as the tablets and computers from my world, but you are free to use it if it's for something that will benefit everyone. If you need any welding done let me know and I can do that for you.
As far as other tools..
[He didn't like lending out his tools. It wasn't against anyone in particular, they just took a while getting back to him. If ever.]
I have a small screwdriver you can borrow but I'll need some kind of collateral for it.
Re: [Action]
Re: [Action]
I am willing to lend a hand - metaphorical or otherwise - where needed for as long as you wish, Tony.
[He most likes helping people, can you tell?]
I still have my initial points, but being as they are only good for snacks as of yet if you wanted me to pay you back in kind it may be some time. Until we reach the next platform, at minimum.
[Which irks Webmind as well.]
Re: [Action]
[Those answers were pathetic kids. Peter would've offered his shoe or something silly. Still, he offers them a smile.]
Just get it back to me when you're done. If you need any help with building that too, I'll be happy to assist.
Re: [Action]
Do you know how much of a charge this has?
Re: [Action]
[Again, Webmind is teasing.
He'll leave it to Tony to answer Trowa's question, much as Webmind should be able to tell that himself.]
Re: [Action]
I'm not sure if this will fit perfectly but with some manipulation you can probably get it to connect.
[He flashed a grin at the little robot kid.]
Well why not? Your project is important and you both seem very determined to do it. You're with someone who is able and willing to help. What's the harm?
Re: [Action]
Thank you. When would you like these materials returned?
