I'm not sure what this world will be like--honestly I don't understand half of what we're being told--but I do know what my specialty is: procuring items.

I know this place is probably going to be hectic from the sound of things but I still think the best way I can help anyone is to work my way into getting us things we need or want for the train. Don't worry--I won't make life harder on the people we're here to help. [That line is specifically for people like Tony Stark that might find offense in what he does. But he's still determined to do this.]

But what I'm offering is this: tell me what you want and I'll try to get it.

Name anything for now because we don't know what will be there but I can always look for it.

Clients want things. I get them. So that's a yes, I acquire things for other people that want said things.

I'd find as much silver as I could and bring it to you. Same with the tools.

[He won't ask questions but he is curious what she plans on doing with those materials. He used to have a jewelers kit at home. He liked to maintain his personal collection.]

Sir, you are a hero and a scholar. I have great need of both.

[She might explain if pressed, but doesn't feel a need to give out the information if he doesn't ask.]

Also a blacksmith shop but I think that would be difficult to fit onto the train.

[As long as we're jesting. He is a horrible hero in his opinion. There is probably a city out there that would agree if only they knew...]

You're going to have to take that one up with the train. Or a better mechanic than I. Or... [He considers for a moment.] There might be modern tools to mimic that with much less space needed. I'll look for something that can work metals. I might have need for it myself.

Does the heroic scholar expect anything in return?

Yeah, that would be easy if we weren't stuck on a train. I can't say starting a fire on board this thing would work out too well though. I'll look into it.

Well. We don't really have money here. Everything vital is restocked once a month. Unless you have a hoard of points for purchasing snacks, I've got no reason to ask for anything I can't get while out.

...I have to admit, I've never had one of those. [But it certainly sounds like something someone would ask him to steal. It's intriguing.] I'm not...that familiar with magic outside of Ryslig monster magic. Is it something magical?

[He's really not even sure if this was a legit thing. It could be a joke. Please be gentle with him if it is a joke. No, don't.]

I can't promise it SOON but with those tools I could probably whip one up.

Also I'd need a carpet.

And yes it's very magic.

[Well, he's not laughing but he is stunned into silence for a few seconds. About thirty of them.

Then:] You're serious.

All right. I'll find a carpet.

I'd like to see it fly.

Of course I'm serious! I am a great and powerful wizard!

But also don't expect your flying carpet to be ESPECIALLY maneuverable. I'm still trying to figure out an elegant way of controlling it. For now it's just tapping arrows.

[Now he has to stifle his laughter. Which is more a soft chuckle actually.]

I'll be impressed if it flies at all. It can't be easy to make a carpet fly.

Barring the two second's worth of flight produced by throwing it.

[She doesn't sound like she ENTIRELY blames him for laughing. She's enjoying this.]

[Only because he doesn't want to be hunted down.

He'll head towards Tony once he's wrapped up a conversation or two over the ICP.]

What do you want? [The thief asks as he crosses his arms and leans into the nearest doorway.]

[Tony was working on some lists for the packs he was putting together for everyone when Garrett shows up. He gives the man a mildly friendly smile at that greeting.]

What would you like in exchange for your services? I'm still working on the communicators so I can't offer that but I could perhaps make you something.

[Garrett actually perked up. He wasn't certain if Tony had wanted to lecture him or give him a list of items to look for. This was good.]

I'm working on a compound bow. The hardest part is making the pieces right without a proper forge or tools. I can steal what I need but can't replicate a smithery. [ beat ] Unless one of your tools has that capability.

[He frowns a little at that but putting a hand to his chin, he ran his fingers thoughtfully over his beard.]

Unfortunately we don't have a forge but I have the ability to wield things together as well as cut metal. It would be helpful if we did have something like that though.

That skill is worth quite a lot on its own. And I'll keep an eye out for tools that can do the same.

[Garrett pushes off the doorway and moves into the room proper. It's hard to tell from his subdued body language without knowing him well, but he's eager.]

So, what did you want?

[He was pleased to see Garrett thought have the chance to benefit from his gloves was an even trade for a list.]

We need weapons. Swords, knives, daggers, handguns, batons- whatever. I could also use electric wiring and cables. If you have a spare hand, whiskey.

[Garrett was definitely going to have to bring both bags he stole from the last world to accommodate. Hopefully he could find somewhere to hole up until the mission blew over. Easier to hoard more if he could stash his findings somewhere during the few days they were on mission.]

Weapons for the fighters. Wiring for the mechanic. I have a bit of that but you can never have too much. [It was a habit to pick up even back home. It went for a hefty bit of coin back where electricity and the components to use it were still very new to the common people.] And a smooth drink if I can find one.

Excellent. Is there anything I can provide you with that would make that easier?

I can managed all of that with relative ease. Unless you have something more specific in mind, those are all things I know how and where to look for. The rest is up to me to procure and carry.

[That was easier than expected. Although now he was curious why Tony didn't want to say any of that on the ICP. Maybe he just distrusted the network in general. Garrett couldn't blame him for that. He knew how fragile the privacy on such things could be.

He nodded once.] You too.

[Garrett would be safer than Tony, no doubt, who Garrett was fairly certain tended to be in the thickest part of the missions. It's what many an ICP conversation sounded like.

He shook his head clear, offered Tony a wave of one hand as he turned, and walked out. He needed to prepare for a large haul. If he was lucky, that is.]

Wherever we end up. There's bound to be something worth looking for that might be acquired while we visit a new world.

There is a possibility of that, I suppose. but figuring out a method of payment would be difficult, wouldn't it?

I've been trying not to think of that, but everyone keeps pointing it out. There's not much to trade on this train, is there? [Or a need to. Everything just magically appeared when it was needed. Or at least once a month after restock.]

Not really. And we don't know what this planet thinks of as valuable. What were you thinking of trading?

Hm. Maybe my services at certain skills. It's easier to trade physical labor than items sometimes honestly.

A week is plenty of time. It's not like I'm good at the mission parameters anyway.

Hmm. It might be good to have more than one person looking for things.

[Though he's still not certain he wants to pair up, per se. Maybe just send her off to do a Thing and then watch how she does it. He was convinced she was capable of being sneaky, he just didn't know to what full extent yet. And he had...issues of his own to deal with before he got too close to another thief.

But Yuffie had proven to be interesting and he couldn't really find a reason to say no to her for anything other than his own troubled past. And that hardly seemed fair.]

We'll see. I'm not sure what this world will be like or what will be available but we can share the list to look for I suppose.
